I first remember being in some sort of large city. I was in a downtown area that seemed a bit like a toned down Vegas or something. There was quite a bit of light down there, but it was night time. At some point I wound up going into a large building that turned out to be a hotel. I went in and got settled into place. At some point Scott (best friend from elementary school) was there talking to me. The room I was in was several stories up (10th or so?) and it was huge. The room seemed to be about the size of the entire key and lock site at work.
Next I was on a school bus, and it was driving through Main Street Weyers Cave. We were heading towards the main intersection in town and we were going by the old gas station, which is now Wren's Auto Repair. I was sitting up in the front of the bus in the seat directly behind the driver. At the time I knew who was driving, but now I can't remember. I know that the front of the bus was a bit strange in that it also had room for a couple of people to stand. Teresa (from Mercedes) was there, and she was the one standing. I think she was supposed to be helping out the driver with directions.
It seems that at some point, the driver even got up and walked around the front of the bus a bit-- while the bus was still moving! But I didn't think anything of it. It was a woman. I do know that much, but I just can't place exactly who it was. I know that Scott Barker was on the bus, too, and I think I wound up going back towards the middle of the bus to talk to him at one point. I think we were supposed to be going to, or heading back from, a track competition.
Finally we got back to Fort Defiance High School and we were in the locker room there. I was talking to Scott again for a bit while we were supposed to be changing. Funny enough, it seems like we were supposed to be changing INTO our track stuff at this point.
After that I remember being out in a subdivision in Weyers Cave that was being built at the end of the subdivision where Scott used to live. It was supposed to be Basswood Village (the place where we're supposed to be moving to in June 2005) I went to see the progress on the house I
was planning on moving in to. I don't think I was in a car, but maybe on a bike or something. I rode up one street and looked at the partially built houses. It seemed that they built these things a little oddly. They had the walls up and all finished (sheetrocked and painted, and even carpet was done) but the roofs were not on yet. Even though a lot of them were 2 story homes, I could still see down inside. It wasn't quite like I was flying, but maybe something more like I was just
really huge compared to the houses.
I turned right at the end of the street and turned right again at the next street so that I was looping around this block of 8 or 10 houses. I think I was having trouble finding my particular house. I kept moving around, and when I got to the end of this street, I turned right again, and then again, going back up the first street I had been on. I felt that I had missed it and wanted to check for it again.
Finally I was out on the football field at Fort Defiance. I think there was something about traveling on this large highway system to get there. Anyway, we were all out on the football field, and I think we were in some sort of class. Everyone was lined up along one edge. From right to left, they had the boys alphabetical by last name, and then the girls were the same. I was at the very end of the boys row, so I was standing between a girl and a guy. They had every one to do this thing about finding a partner.
Even though a lot of people moved around, it was almost like the class sized doubled. They had one row standing and facing another row. It took a bit for everyone to find the partner that they wanted, and there was a lot of talking and laughing. I can't remember what the reason for finding a partner was, but Scott wound up finding me and standing facing me.
There was a lot of talking going on, and the people leading this whole thing (three or four people in business suits) were getting impatient. I think the partners had something to do with dancing, and I remember the girls next to me giggling at Scott because, while it was okay for them to pair up with other girls, for guys to pair up was wrong, and they were laughing at Scott for not realizing that we were going to be dancing. When he did realize, he just laughed because he wondered how he could have missed that part. At one point I put my hands on his shoulders and kind of shook him, laughing as well, and I remember seeing his face very clearly while he was laughing.
