Emily (wife) and I were in this house that was supposed to be ours. Her parents were in town visiting, and it was night time at this point. I don't remember how it started out, but eventually it wound up that Em and I were in the bedroom/bathroom (which seemed to be all one room) upstairs. The house was laid out a little like her parents' house, and the master bedroom where we were was upstairs.
When we were in the bathroom side of the room, most of the lights were off or dim, and her parents were in there. Her parents were looking around inspecting everything (which probably came from the fact that yesterday we were out at the site for the new home in Fort Worth, and we were walking around and they were inspecting everything closely) I think they must have left after a short bit, and I think we went to sleep or something, because the next thing I know, it's daytime (morning) and we're up and about as if we had just woken up.
The bedroom we were in had changed, although we didn't realize it in the dream. We were in a huge mahogany canopy bed, and there were huge windows all around us that let in a lot of light. The room that we were in reflected the appearance of the bed. Big and old and intricate. It was very nice, and reminded me a lot of Vermont. I think there may have even appeared to have been snow outside on the ground.
Anyway, I got up, and I saw these things that I kept thinking of and referring to as pomegranates. They looked like the dried items on stems that we see at places like the Bombay Company or Kirkland's, and they almost look like dried wasp nests on a stick. I'm not sure what they really are, but they always creep me out. In the dream, though, they weren't on sticks. It was just the nest looking things, and they were more like dried fruit that were split in half. I remember picking some of them up and they crumbled in my hand into these things that actually looked a lot like skinny and pointy beans, or even wasp tails. If I twisted the dried half just right, it would crumble apart into these things.
I wound up with lots and lots of these, evidently, and I had big flat Tupperware containers of these things that had crumbled. A lot of them had even crumbled into smaller pieces, somewhat like sand or dirt. I was looking through the bottoms of some of these containers, and I noticed a lot of little bugs crawling around in there, making nests and whatnot as if it were just dirt. I realized that these things were full of ants and bugs, and so I wanted to get rid of not only the Tupperware, but everything.
Emily and I wound up going outside with about six or eight of these containers. (which, by the way, were all the size of the large flat ones that are under our bed) When we went outside, it was like we were out in Grandmamma's yard. We looked over towards the mobile home that grandmamma used to live in, and in the back of it where there used to be a corn field, it was now a forest. The trees were large and really overshadowed the trailer.
First we looked at the driveway, and there was a lot of gravel left from when they had laid the gravel for the driveway. I thought at first we would just dump the stuff into the driveway and cover it over with gravel, but for some reason we thought we'd be more likely to be caught if we did it that way, so we looked for something else. We went around to the back side of the trailer, and we could see that the aluminum skirting had been removed from around it. There was a big mound of dirt up under the far end of the trailer, so we thought we'd dump it all there and smooth it around since our stuff looked like the dirt that was there anyway.
We headed up to that end of the trailer, and just as we were almost ready to start, just past the end of the trailer we saw a set of school items, such as books, notebooks, a backpack, and a few other things that showed that someone had been there recently studying, and they'd likely be back. I heard a radio playing, and I realized that it was coming from inside the trailer. I didn't think anyone was in there, but I DID think that whoever had been out here studying had been the one listening to the radio in the trailer. I told Em to wait for a bit while I went to turn the radio off, figuring that if it was off, then the person wouldn't come back.
There were steps right there on the end of the trailer (to contrast, they should have been on one of the long sides), so I walked up the stairs to go into the door. The door, instead of being a regular door, was more like an iron gate, and as I looked around, the forest was now all around us, and the top of the trailer was open, just as if there were no roof on it. I pushed and tugged at the gate a bit before it actually opened. I went inside and over to the left, and I turned off the radio. I then went back outside to dump the dirt, but I think before I even got out there, the dream ended.
