The Beach Bookstore

I was in this large and very hilly city, and down in the middle of the city was this beach and shopping area. I was walking around on the sand quite a bit, and in the middle of where the water came into this bay-like area, there was a large section that was like a big plateau or something. It had a large flat cliff on one side, and the other side, though it was steep, was sandy and able to be transversed.

I wound up at different places throughout the dream. One time I was on the cliff side on the ground on the other side of the water (which was only about 50 feet out from the cliff to begin with). Another time I was heading up the steep side and finally got up on top. I think at one point I threw something over the cliff side, and I wondered if I had hit anyone with it, but I don't think I had.

Eventually I went across the top and out to the side of the plateau that was closest to the main water body, and there was a bookstore up there. It had that Barnes And Noble feel to it with the Starbucks and everything in it, but it was mostly an open air store. (I guess it never rained there???) I eventually found a couple of books by Phillip Farmer, but still not the Riverworld series that I've been searching out.

Eventually I went to check out at the back counter, and the girl there I think kept trying to sell me other stuff that I didn't need or want. She was average height, had straight bobbed hair just at the top of her neck, and wore glasses. She seemed nice enough, but I didn't want to buy anything else besides those two books.

Finally I was able to leave, and I was trying to figure out how to get home. I think I finally decided to find a ride with someone, because that was was how I had originally gotten a ride down into town anyway. My house/apartment was way up on a hill at the "top of the city".
