Dreaming Sheep?

I have strange dreams. Really strange dreams. Ask anyone that I've told my dreams to, and they'll confirm it. I have some of the strangest dreams of most of them. I love my dreams. I even love the scary ones, although I may not love them when I first wake up.

I like to write my dreams down. I go through periods, of course, where I don't write them down, but when I get that way, I usually have a couple of really good ones that jolt me back into writing them again. I'm an amateur programmer with experience in a couple of programming languages, and I've had plans bouncing around in my head for a couple of years now about writing up a dream journal program.

I like being able to share my dreams with people, but I don't always have the time to relay a whole dream to them. When I really get into writing my dreams down, my recall on them improves greatly in a very short amount of time. I remember more dreams, and I remember them more clearly. So I thought if I posted them, then if they so desired, they could come here and read them all they like.

I've been told many of them would make awesome movies or stories in general, but I'm not sure if I could sort them in such a way as to create something able to be consumed en masse like that. Besides, to change them would be to water them down in some way. I feel like it would be an injustice to do that to them.

So... why the name "Dreaming Sheep" for this blog? Well, I've liked the name "Dreamscape" for some time, and that's what I plan on calling my dream journaling program when/if it gets done. Unfortunately, Dreamscape was not available for the address of this blog. I also have a fondness of "Counting Sheep", even to the point of almost having registered the countingsheep.org domain name a couple of years ago. That was unavailable for the blog address, too. So I figured I'd try a merger of the two, and Dreaming Sheep was born.

Just to note, I won't be posting everything up here. Just the "greats" that are really bizarre. I'm just not willing to post ones that are explicit or just plain uncomfortable for me to share.

Also, the dates that these were "posted" are the dates the dreams correspond to. I haven't had this blog since 1997, but there are dreams from that year that are here.
