I had been inside of Mike's (former step-father) house, and I kept hearing a helicopter flying by somewhere close. I eventually made my way outside and saw it in action. It came flying, very quickly, from the direction of Weyers Cave. It was an overcast day out, and the cloud cover made it easy to watch the helicopter wherever it went.
It zoomed by me, leaned forward quite a bit, and it was picking up speed. After it got past our house, it suddenly straightened out and shot upward. As I watched it, it started to do a backwards loop way up in the sky. I thought to myself, "In a helicopter?" because I know that helicopters aren't meant to be able to do stuff like this. I watched as it looped around back in the direction of Weyers Cave and start coming down again. For a moment it looked like he would manage to pull it off and do the complete loop. But that moment was brief, and he slammed right into the ground across the road from me about 1000 feet away.
So soon after the crash that the wreckage hadn't even stopped moving yet, the pilot jumped out, along with several other people. The pilot was an older man, about 60 or so, and had white hair. I quickly realized that the other people jumping out were his family. Even though the old guy was a white guy, his family was all Mexican. There were two women in their early 20s, and about five or six kids that were between the ages of a couple of months and six years old.
I felt very angry, and I thought to myself about how much of an idiot this man was for pulling a stupid stunt like that, especially when he had his whole family in the helicopter with him. No one was hurt despite the fact that no one was buckled in or had on safety gear, but the idea of it just appalled me.
