I was running through this area that had a sidewalk along side of this road in a heavily wooded area. I was either doing cross country practice or a race, but I was running with a few people that I knew. I think they were along the lines of Stephen, Ronnie and Brian (guys from school). We were running along the sidewalk, and even out in the road at times. There were cars parked along the side of the road, as if we were in a residential part of town, but the streets, at times, seemed to be made of mud.
I tromped through the streets a little bit, but I could feel the mud just sticking really badly to my shoes (which were my grey/blue New Balance shoes with the huge tread on them that I'm wearing now). One place that we were running was almost like a bridge. We were on the left side of the road/sidewalk, and we were running from one hill/mountain to another (the road just cut straight through) and when we got to the deep valley in between them, I remember looking out to my left, and there was a large pond or lake area off from the bridge. It was all so beautiful.
Finally after getting across the valley and to the next mountain, I wound up at Em's parents house. I went in through the the front door, but rather than opening into the foyer area, it went straight into the back side of the living room. The house seemed to be wide, but not deep. It was only about as deep as the kitchen and family room. The living room was cut short.
When I got inside, I no longer had my muddy shoes on, and I was dressed in a sweater and jeans. It was evening time and it was around Christmas. There was a tree all decorated and lit there in the left corner of the living room. I think that Paul (Em's dad) was there either working on decorating it, or having just finished and was now enjoying it. I talked to him briefly, and then I turned right and went through the kitchen and into the family room. When I got over there, all the lights were on. Also, there were no walls between the living room, kitchen, and family room. It was all just one big room. The TV was on, and I think there was also a Christmas Tree up there, too.
I went in and laid on my stomach by the tree (which was small, VERY sparse on branches, and poorly decorated) and started to watch TV. Hardly any sooner than I laid down, Em came downstairs yelling at her mom. She was saying stuff like, "You have no right to go through our stuff just because you feel like it!" or "I don't care! You need to ask us first, or just ask us to look for it!" I started to get really tense about it because I knew that Em's mom could be nosey about stuff, and I was wondering what in the world she would have gone through to make Em so mad.
I turned around, sat up, and asked, "What's going on, Em?" Em and her mom basically started explaining at the same time, in their own ways, what was going on. Basically, Marilyn thought that we had taken a cassette tape of hers and hadn't brought it back. Em thought that her mom was coming up with reasons for snooping around. Em, though, had the tape in her hand, so evidently it actually was in our room, but at the same time, I knew that there was a good possibility that was being used as an excuse to poke around. I thought for a bit that she might have gone through our computers. But just thinking about her poking around through the stuff on our desks made me feel a pretty violated.
I told Em to give her the tape so that she wouldn't have any more reason to go snooping around in there. She gave her the tape, and they both wound up leaving. Then, some new people started showing up. There was Ian Mckellin as Gandalf, there was Ron Pearlman from Hellboy, and someone else (some female, I think) that all showed up in the living room. I think that at first they were mimicking the fight that Em and Marilyn were just having. One of them wound up shooting some sort of fireball or something that hit the pathetic little fake Christmas Tree, and it burst into flames and melted right onto the carpet. Then someone else shot something back at them, and by the end of it, I saw all three of them flop down onto the carpet face first.
Then the scene kind of folded away, we were were suddenly outside where it was nice and sun shiny again. We were in the lake that I had seen in the valley earlier while I was running. We kind of splashed around and swam around, and I think they were still playfully throwing fireballs at one another. I think I wound up going up to each one and giving them hugs. Then we got out of the water, and we were outside of a large building, and I knew that we had just finished being in one of the Lord Of The Rings movies. There were tons of famous people outside, only they were all very young children.
We met the young Jackson's, only we didn't see Michael. We gave them all hugs, knowing that they needed it so that they might turn out better when they grew up. We met a bunch of kids that grew up to be famous. It was as if we had gone back in time, even though all these kids were relatively the same age, I knew that when they were famous, they were from a lot of different times in my life, and they were all different ages once they were famous. They were all on this two or three foot tall ledge that went around the right side perimeter of the building. This made the kids roughly as tall as we were. We also met a young Rudolph Giuliani, and Ian Mckellin gave him a book on politics.
As we were finally leaving the long line of people and heading out through this side door (we were still outside, but it was like this was in an atrium of some sort, and we went through the door to the "real" outside) to our right. As we were leaving, I asked Ian about him giving Rudolph that book, and I said, "We'll never know. That book could have been what made him a great mayor in the first place, or it could be that it will make him a better one," and Ian just smiled and said, "yes, you're right. We may never know." Then when I finally got outside, I was back in my running shoes, and Ronnie and Stephen were there again. We were running again, but this time there was a lot more mud than before. I could really feel it slowing me down, but I just tried to keep moving. I was telling them about my experience with the Lord Of The Rings cast, and how cool it was.
We finally were running down the road that Pleasant Valley Church is on, and I said goodbye to Ronnie and Stephen, and I turned left onto the road where Mike's (former step father) house is. I was still having a hard time running, but I knew if I just kept at it, I'd finally get there. I thought for a moment how I might run down to Grandmamma's house, and then come back, turn right, and head towards Weyers Cave, and as I though it, I could see it happening from above, like everything was now a map.
