Alien Planet Obstacle Course

Em and I were walking down a dirt "road" in the middle of the field behind Grandmamma Miller's house. We were heading north, in the direction of Garber's farm. We were with two other people, but I'm not quite sure who they were. I think one of them was supposed to be Zaphod Beeblebrox from Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy. (which I'm currently reading the series). The other one, I have no idea who it was.

Anyway, Zaphod, I think, wound up breaking the news to us that either we were about to show up on an alien planet, or we were already on one. Rather than being awed, I think that Em and I were both appalled. He told us that we were going to have to run some sort of obstacle course. Despite the weirdness, I thought that it sounded like a bit of fun, so Em and I kept walking and we eventually came to an intersection. We were told that we had to turn left, and go back towards the woods. Zaphod and the other character were going to stay here.

So Em and I turned, and we went down the dirt road, which had a steep but short embankment on our left side (almost like a 6 foot tall cliff) for a bit, and eventually we came to a little white bridge. We crossed it and soon on the other side we came up to the front of this big and kind of old house. There seemed to be a good bit of vine growth on the outside of it, and it looked like no one had lived there in about 10 years. There were a lot of tall trees behind it and to the right of it, which made it almost feel like it was nestled at the base of some sort of cliff. I think Zaphod showed up briefly to tell us what we needed to do, and one or both of us may have protested because it sounded terribly difficult, but he disappeared before we could really argue our case.

So we figured that the only way out was through, and we approached the house. I told Em to stay with me, pay attention, and help me out when I need it, and I'll try to lead as much as I can. She said okay, and we went up to the house. The garage door was open, so we went in there. In the ceiling of the garage was an rectangular opening with a beam of light coming down through it. I told Em that we'd step into the light, and we'd probably be ported off to somewhere in the house. She said okay, and she followed me. We held hands as we went through.

There were some earlier parts to the course that I don't really remember, but one part that I do eventually remember was that Em and I were in this big room that was supposed to be upstairs. There was no roof over our heads, but the walls were all painted white as if they were supposed to be interior walls. In front of us were these two big logs that were like white painted telephone poles. I grabbed the tall one (about 12 feet tall) near the bottom and gave it a hefty heave, and it flipped end for end, bounced once on the top, and landed again on the bottom in a spot about 20 feet away. It fit right into this space and was supposed to be used as some key to enable something. Em did the same thing with the shorter pole (which was only about 4 feet tall), and it went over and landed next to this pedestal that was about 6 or 8 feet tall. For hers, she was supposed to climb up onto her pole, and then up onto the pedestal.

[Sadly, this is about all I remember of what promised to be such an interesting dream.]

Walking Home With The Key To The Church

I had gone to Pleasant Valley Church with some friends and family because I wanted to see what the church was like now that I had been out of it and been Buddhist for a while. I think it was nearing evening, or maybe it was just very cloudy and in the afternoon, but they were holding a service in the sanctuary. It was a bit bigger than I remembered (wider) and it was funny to see so many people there that were dressed in street clothes instead of their "Sunday Best". Then again, it wasn't Sunday. I'm not sure what day it was, but it had the feeling of being sometime between Thursday and Saturday in the summer.

As I was sitting there in the service, I was looking around at everyone. I saw mom there, and I think that Matthew (brother) was there, as well as Uncle Rollin and a bunch of other people that I knew. Instead of a pastor leading the service, Ruth Wright (the church's secretary) was doing it.

Towards the end of the service, she handed out a bunch of small packages to everyone. Everyone got some sort of pamphlet and a key. When I saw the keys at first, I thought, "They're not cut!" because they were completely straight edged. Someone asked what they were for, and she said, "These are for those of you who need to get into the church and no one is here or if that door you need to come through is locked. For example, those of you that come in through the basement will now have your own key."

As she said this, she motioned to Uncle Rollin and Grandaddy Miller. Then a vision went off in my head, and I could see Uncle Rollin picking up Grandaddy from home, bringing him to church, and they parked in one of the spots down by the playground. They would come in through the basement and then took the stairs straight up to Granddaddy's classroom. (in reality, the fellowship hall and stage are right there, not classrooms)

I think then that someone was making some sort of point about if everyone had these keys, then someone could vandalize the church when no one else was there or something. At that time, Ruth said something along the lines of, "No, they're not keys. They key CHAINS" and I looked at it, and it was a key ring, which is what she meant by key chain. Soon after this, everyone seemed more relieved (although, somehow I knew that Uncle Rollin's and Granddaddy's keys would still work to get in through the basement for when they came to church on Sundays)

When the service was over, I milled around a little bit and talked to some people that I used to know pretty well (but I don't remember who) and I just hung around and looked at stuff. Finally I was ready to leave, so I went out into the parking lot and got into my car. There were a couple of people that got into the car with me, perhaps such as mom, Emily (wife), and maybe Matthew.

I turned and I tried to leave through the back side of the parking lot. I wound up going through the little paved road that went right through the middle of the cemetery. I was talking to the other people in my car, and I guess I wasn't really paying attention to where I was going, because I wound up almost hitting a headstone that was out in the middle of the road. It was Carol's (mother of two kids my mom used to babysit that I also went to church with) headstone.

I swerved to miss it, and I did miss it, but I wound up catching the corner of a small one (an old one for a baby) that jutted out a little into the road area, and I snapped it off at the base and knocked it around and over. The other people in the car didn't notice that one, though, because the one that was for Carol Wilson was so huge and in the middle of everything that it was the one that everyone else paid attention to. I didn't say anything about the one that I did hit because I didn't want them to know or notice.

We finally got out of the parking lot, and the next thing I know, I'm no longer really in the car, but I'm walking. I'm heading down the road that Mike's (former step-father) house is on, and as I passed it, I saw a bunch of people working on the house. Part of it was "normal", but most of it was only in the framing process. I saw Carol (different Carol. Mike's wife) working on it, along with a bunch of other people, some of whom I recognized, but others I didn't. There were a lot of family members there working on it, I believe.

The end close to the road (where my room used to be on the first floor) was the part that was all in framing. I remembered that they had had some sort of fire, and that's why it was being rebuilt. As I continued walking down in the direction of Grandmamma Miller's house, I kept looking at the building process going on. I realized that the second story was actually at the level with the road. The yard now sat a lot lower than it used to, so the first floor was now lower than the road. (which is opposite of how it really is. There's actually a fairly big steep bank leading down to the road, or there's a ditch or something)

As I got to the far end of their plot of land, I saw that there was another building process going on there. It was similar to the one that I had just passed. It was mostly framing, but the second story was even with the road, and there were some finished parts that were farther back. Somewhere in one of these finished parts, I remember perceiving that there was a television or radio on, and that was supposed to be entertaining Mike's an Carol's kids. The finished parts were evidently livable, and the kids were in there. Anyway, as I was passing this second construction part, I saw Matthew working on the closest upstairs room. I went over (I was able to just step from the road to the second floor) and started talking to him. He didn't really want to be there, but I don't remember how I replied to him. Finally I looked around a bit more, and I realized that this was a continuation of the house. As I looked into the back yard, I saw that there was a big section of house that joined the part that I remembered as being there, and this new part that I was standing on. It kind of made a U shape, and the yard was now pretty much in the middle. I think I got off the construction and continued walking.

The next thing I knew I was at Mike's parents' house. I was supposed to be outside, but for some reason, their house and garage were in this strange sort of building. It didn't fully have the feeling of being inside of a building, but more like a car port sort of thing that covered the entire place, including the yard. At the same time, there were walls and windows and doors all around us that really made it more of a garage like building than anything. There was some sort of discussion going on about all of this being under the roof, but I don't remember exactly what was being said.

At one point, someone was talking about how to get into the garage (again, I think it was Matthew?) and Grandmamma B (Mike's mom) seemed to be denying something about being able to get there conveniently from the house. Someone refuted her and talked about the door from out the back of her bedroom to the space between the garage and the house, and then there was a door right there that went into the garage. I went and took a look, and sure enough, there were two doors right across from one another: one on the house, and one on the garage.

As I looked between the buildings, there was a strange dim light that lit that "corridor" between the buildings even though we were under another roof. I think I realized it was a window in the "outer building" that was covered over with either sheets or plastic that was hung over it, and also hung on the far end of the house and the garage. I looked at this for a moment, feeling a sense of strangeness about it all.

School Bus and Field Construction

I was picked up by a school bus at Grandmamma's house. The bus was heading towards 256 instead of away from it like it normally did. I looked out of the bus windows to the left, and is saw that there were a lot of people out in the field. The field was completely muddy, and there was a lot of construction going on with it. I'm not sure what was being done, but I just remember that there was a LOT of construction going on.

Amusement Park Greetings

I was at an amusement park that was supposed to be somewhat like Kings Dominion. I was riding on a roller coaster called the Anaconda, but it was painted all white instead of green. This was a very strange roller coaster in that when riding it, you could take a different path each time. There were various places where the coaster track split off into two or three directions all at once.

A specific one I remember seeing was this one where the track started going up. There were three paths that went off there. One of them looked like it just went straight up. One curved off and around to the right, and the other went around and off to the left. At some point during my ride, I became unbuckled from my seat, and I wound up falling out, but I knew that this was a planned thing. I had one of those big rectangular parachutes on my back so that when I was let go, it came to life, and I was able to glide around.

The roller coaster was out over this big lake, and I was now able to fly around it freely by gliding on the parachute. I think that this may have even happened a couple of times before the main time that I remember it, because I think that's how I knew it was going to happen. I think I was even able to control when it happened so that I could fly off wherever I wanted to. I realized at some point during my flight that I was really good at this because of all the times I had gotten cars to fly in Grand Theft Auto using the cheat codes. The parachute worked the same way.

At some point during my flight, I saw my boss Ron , from Mercedes. He was on the shore somewhere, and as I passed by him one time, he said something to me about landing because he needed to see me. He said that he'd tell me where and when to land, so I said okay. I swooped out and came back and watched him. He took a few steps back and then pointed down to a spot on the ground next to him. He said, "There! Now." So I came in, and I landed within a foot or so of the spot that he pointed to. I felt I was off the mark, but he seemed fine with my landing.

The parachute was mysteriously gone, although I never noticed it leaving, and we went walking along through the weedy growth to my right. We were walking along this grassy knoll area along side of the water. As we got to a "corner" of the lake, we passed a boy about the age of 16 or 18 who was trying to figure out why there was all this water there on the ground where he was supposed to be working. He had blond hair and was thin but athletically built. He seemed pretty upset and worried about all the water coming up from under the grass that he was supposed to be tending to. (raking it or hoeing or something) Ron wound up taking the tool from the boy's hands and said something about looking around to find out what it was. Ron used the hoe/rake to scrape around a bit, and wound up peeling up the grass where the water was coming up. He followed it for a couple of feet, peeling back the grass, and finally found some ripped or cut white tubing under the grass. As he continued to pull back the grass, he finally found that there was a sprinkler head under the grass that had been mangled when one of the workers was mowing there. The boy was relieved to find out that it was not his fault.

After we left this area, at some point Ron and I wound up meeting some girl that I used to go to school with. Ron decided to give us a tour of parts of the park that weren't open to the public yet. They were places where the rides were currently broken down, but they were going to fix them or replace them at some point in the near future and reopen them to the public. One place that we went to was this outdoor pool along with a bathhouse and changing rooms. I had seen this pool when I was using the parachute, so I knew it was here, and I also knew why it wasn't being used. It was full of this squishy red fungus, and obviously, no one wanted to swim in that.

We went through this low gate and up some stairs to the main sidewalk area around the pool. The changing building was immediately to our right, and there was a little bit of a grassy area to our left. Directly in front of us about 20 feet or so was the pool. On the other side of the pool was a sitting area that had a roof over it, and it had lattice work around three sides of it to keep the sun out.

As we started walking towards the pool, the fungus was squishing under our feet. The girl and I both started noticing how it was making our feet itch. I had bare feet, and she was wearing flip-flops. We told Ron that it was great of him to bring us to show us this stuff, but we needed to get out of there because of our feet itching so badly. He said "sure" and we wound up turning around and going back out through the gate. When we got out into the grass again, the girl and I wiped off our feet in the grass to try to get all the red fungus off. I was a little worried about it infecting our feet permanently if we didn't wash it off completely with water, but we wound up being fine.

At some point after this, Ron turned into a younger guy that I had also gone to school with, but I didn't remember who it was. The three of us were going around through these small underground tunnels that were naturally formed. Even though they were tunnels, they seemed awfully bright under there. The sun was shining in along the walls and such, and was very nice in there. In some places it just seemed like the tunnels were very tall and open at the top, and in other places it seemed that the tunnels were completely closed at the top, but it was still very light.

Anyway, I remember the girl had put in this long black curly wig just for the fun of it, and was wearing just some comfortable shorts and a tee shirt, almost like gym clothes. We were crawling around through the tunnels acting like we were on some sort of mission to not been seen. At one point, we found this guy named Anthony (I don't remember his last name, but he was about the only full blooded Native American I went to school with) that I used to go to school with. He was standing there leaned up against his big, old, and red pickup truck. The girl and I jumped back around the corner to avoid being seen by him, and the guy that we were with hadn't been far enough over in that direction to even have seen him. The opening to the tunnel was over to my right. I wound up going back and peeking around again, as did the girl, and Anthony wound up seeing us. He came over rather quickly and decided to join us in our game. We went around through the tunnels a bit more and then eventually I had to go to the bathroom.

I wound up coming out in the bathroom at Mercedes that's across from John's (PDC Manager at Mercedes) office here in Texas. As I went up to the urinal, I noticed that now I was in my work uniform, and that the bathroom was darker than usual, with shades of gray and blue in the tile, floor, and walls. I went up, unzipped, and started going to the bathroom. While I was standing there, I realized that the cleaning girl (a small Hispanic girl of about 17 or 18 years old) and her boss and one of her coworkers were all there in the bathroom with me.

The boss, who was a tall dark-haired woman, was doing an inspection of the cleaning girl's skills. She had evidently just cleaned the bathroom, and now it was being inspected. The boss went around looking at everything and making little comments here and there about stuff. The cleaning girl was just watching her somewhat nervously. The boss came up to the urinal where I was currently peeing and she craned her neck and looked in between me and the urinal, even though I was trying to retain a bit of my privacy. She didn't even seem to think about the fact that I was standing there using the bathroom. When she looked in, she said, "Let's see what we've got here..." and when she looked in, she stopped and started laughing.

She realized that I was there, and how funny her own statement had been, as if she had been referring to me. I also found it funny, and I was laughing along with her. The cleaning girl and her coworker were also having a little giggle about the whole thing. I wasn't really embarrassed about it. I just though it was funny that she was so into what she was doing that she didn't seem to notice me there.

Finally I finished up and I went and washed my hands. The sink, instead of being off to my right and on the same wall as the urinals, was on the wall to the right of the door to come in. That's where the cleaning girl and her coworker were standing and waiting for the inspection to finish.

While I was washing my hands, this older heavyset blond woman came in and started getting all upset at the cleaning girl because of the cleaning girl's lipstick. She told the girl that she needed to turn the lipstick around so that it didn't leave that "unsightly line" under the girl's lip. To me it just looked like the lipstick had worn away and the line at the bottom of her bottom lip was where it was still the strongest. I think that someone there came and got all upset at the blond woman for railing on the poor cleaning girl about it. It was either the boss or the coworker, but I'm not sure which.

On my way out, I stopped and popped my head and shoulders back around the corner from the door and leaned in closer to the cleaning girl. I became very aware of what I said to her, and I made a point of focusing on it in my mind to try to "send her the metal waves" of what was saying, too. I told her to have a great day.

I then left and went back into the key and lock site and went to the EGS station between the FBS3 key station and the instrument clusters. There was a table there out from the wall that had a lot of stuff packed on top of it, and it seemed to be almost like a little work area back behind it, as if the table marked off the work area for the EGS programming. Erwin (from Mercedes) was back there working, although I think I was supposed to help him out somehow.

Once everything was done and we had packed up for the day, I got my stuff and left the building. As I was going outside, I was laughing and joking around with Chip Thurston and a couple of the other people that I work with. As we got outside, I noticed that it was night time. The parking lot was, instead of the normal lot that we have, was now the parking lot to the Pleasant Valley Church, only it was surrounded by more a lot of trees instead of a cemetery. I went straight out from the door and expected to see my car in the lot directly in front of me.

I was still joking around with people, and someone pointed out that I was parked way down at the other end of the lot with most of them. So I turned right and walked with most of them down to our group of cars. I realized that this was the first time I had driven my car in several days, and that it had been parked here the entire time. I came up behind my car and went to the drivers side. I was facing work, which now looked like a combination of the church and a shopping mall.

Meeting Doug and His Wife While Shopping

I was in some large store with Em (wife), and we were shopping. It kind of seemed like a version of Walmart or Target or something that I had in another dream. There were typical aisles of things, but off to the right were also huge racks of things kind of like being in Sam's Club.

Em had gone off to look for her own stuff, and I was walking around the racks area when I found Doug from Mercedes. I walked along with him and talked to him for a bit, and I eventually found out that his wife was also out and around here doing her own shopping. I made a point of mentioning that we needed to get them together so that we could all meet formally. We finally were all able to get together, and we met.

I could see Doug's and Em's faces pretty clearly, but Vicki (his wife) seemed to be a blond-ish haze of light around where her head and face should be. (I've never seen her before, so I couldn't visualize her in my dream) After we all met, I told Em that I needed to go shop for new jeans.

I turned and went to the left side of the store and shopped for jeans. While I was there, I managed to find my way into this "back room". It was a small and cluttered room that was painted white, but seemed somewhat old and dirty. I found this one little area that had these little "shades" in this recessed area of the wall. These shades were kind of like blinds that were made of bamboo, like what Em's parents have up on their screen porch, but they were small (only about one foot square) and they were all painted differently.

Each one had a different design on it. Some were painted floral, some were pink and white, others had green and yellow. They were all sorts of colors. I think I may have asked someone that was in that room about them, and the only information that I could get was that I was in some room that was only for teachers. I think they also told me that the only way I could become a teacher was to kill off another teacher. I didn't want to do that, but I was interested to look around the room.

After looking around the room for a bit, and there seemed to be a lot of old kitchen antiques around, I went back to the blinds. I rolled the first one up by pulling the string. It rolled up neatly, and then I saw it slipping away to the top and going back behind everything else. I think I tried to stop it, but it just kept going back an back until I saw it fall. When it fell, there was daylight through the hole I realized that it had fallen outside of the building and was now laying outside all broken on the ground.

Either I figured it out, or someone in the room told me, but that was how you killed a teacher and got to become one yourself. I didn't want to believe them, but I think I realized that it had to be true. I felt really bad for killing of this particular teacher mostly by accident. Somehow I had a feeling that I knew the teacher that had been killed, but I have no idea who it might have been.

Guardian Feline

I started out as a young girl and I was supposed to be going to visit my father. I guess my parents had gotten a divorce or were separated or something, and I think it was partially because my father had been abusive to me. Actually, that may not have ever come to light, because if it had, I doubt I would have been made to visit him.

Anyway, I was terrified of going to see him. Somehow along the way I found out that I could communicate with a particular cat. This cat was more than a cat, but I'm not sure what it was. At one point right before I was supposed to see my father for the first time in a long time, the cat gave me some information on how to handle the whole situation.

At this point, I was in what seemed like an office and a very large house. The cat happened to be in a guest bathroom and the lights were off, but the door was open. I went in and sat on the floor by the cat and talked to it about what I was supposed to do. Whatever I was supposed to do, I double checked it with the cat to make sure that I understood. I think it was supposed to be a way to get away from my father once he was there to get me. When I had gotten it, the cat had rolled over for me to pet it's belly. It nodded up and down in approval with it's eyes closed. This was the first time that I got a really good look at the cat. It basically looked like Nellie Belle (our cat in waking life), but was fluffier.

Finally my father showed up and the cat had disappeared. Suddenly I was no longer the girl, but I was watching her leave with her dad. The next thing I know, I'm inside this big old house, and it seemed almost like it had been abandoned. I realized that I was seeing things the way that the girl was seeing them. I think this was also where I realized that the girl looked like Dakota Fanning, but with dark hair.

She came running into the front door, turned around, and slammed it shut and locked it. Her face was splattered with blood, but it wasn't her own blood. There was something going on that only she (and I) could see, and no one else could have seen the blood or the decrepit state of the house. To everyone else, everything would have looked normal and new. Anyway, she/I ran upstairs, and soon after getting to the top and running into a bedroom, we were the same person again.

I was the girl again. Just as the door was closing, I saw the dad as she saw him. He looked old and dead. He was bloody, and he was decomposing. I think this was the main reason why she didn't want to be with him. Yes, he was abusive, but he looked like some sort of monster. She got the door closed and locked, and hardly any sooner than she had and got over towards the area of the bed, the father's dead arm shot out from underneath the bed and grabbed her/my left wrist and tried to pull me in. I had picked up this little sharp rock, and something else took control of my right hand. I used it to scrape a message to myself in the floor. It was supposed to be be from the dad. It was written very sloppy, but in all capital letters. It said something along the lines of "Now I have you and you cannot get away."

Then a second line started to be written by my right hand. It said, "Soon I will call for you." Soon after that second line finished, I realized that it was from the cat. Shortly after I heard a loud squawk or some sort of bird cry outside the window. I turned and looked (and at the same time I saw the girl turn and look) at the window and realized that the cat was here to save us. The girl got up (we were separate again) and somehow broke free of the father's grip. She ran, jumped across the top of the bed, and leaped from the edge of the bed, didn't even touch the floor, and went crashing through the window to the outside. There was faith on both of or parts that the cat had formed into some sort of bird or something, and was flying by at that moment to catch her as she dove out the window. The dream ended before I verified if she was caught by the bird or not.

Brian Noel and Fonze Dreamlets

[I couldn't remember the full dream where this belonged, so I'm just giving these brief parts here.]

First, I was at work, and I was in the infrared room, and Brian (maintenance guy from Mercedes) came in through the main double doors. I noticed that he looked awfully scruffy, and that his hair and gotten long and curly. He was having trouble keeping his hat on his head because of all the hair.

There was another one where I was at this bar/diner place, and the Fonze wound up coming in with a group of his cronies. They seemed like they were making some sort of trouble, and at one point they came over to me, and Fonze was talking to me about something he was going to do to me if I didn't behave according to what he said. I don't remember what he was wanting out of me, but I remember not being pleased with his attitude about the whole thing. The bar/diner that I was in was kind of dark, and part of it seemed lit by pink and purple neon lights, kind of like a video store I dreamed about recently. They finally left, although I'm not sure if maybe I left with them.

Beanbag Football And Awakenings

I started out waking up in my old bedroom at Grandmamma's house. (the downstairs one) Em (wife) was there with me, and the room was extremely bare and clean. I think that the only thing that was in there was a bed, and that may have just been a mattress on the floor. I got up, and it was kind of early, and I went into the closet (the walk-in closet was still there) to get my clothes.

There was a box on the right side as I went in that was about waist high, and it had my underwear in it. I dug through the box and pulled out a pair of gray ones. I think I may have actually come back out empty handed the first time because I couldn't figure out what I was doing or where I needed to go because of still being sleepy. Finally I did start getting dressed, though, and Em woke up while I was doing so. She also got up and got ready, and eventually we were ready to go.

We wound up in an area that was supposed to be the "downtown" area of Mt. Sidney, VA. There was a fork in the road, and both forks went up this side of a large hill. They also went around the hill in a manner in which I couldn't see, going off either right or left. We were walking along the road, because I think we had parked somewhere. Cobbie (from Mercedes), was there, and we were supposed to be taking him to church. We were going to the First Presbyterian in Staunton.

So, we got there and walked right in. I think that we had actually already missed the service, and everyone was kind of milling about and ready to leave. We walked in though the main entry way, and we went up the wide flight of stairs to the Narthex area outside of the sanctuary. I said that I was going to take a look around, and I think that Cobbie went off to do the same. Em kind of followed me, and I got to a part where a ladder went up into a few rooms that were in the upper part of the church. It was a lot like being in a barn because it was unfinished and very open.

As I looked around the rooms up there, sometimes it was a little bit like being in the balcony, and at other times it was very open, almost as if construction hadn't been finished. I came to this one part where the floor wasn't finished, and I could see into the rooms below. In most of the rooms there wasn't anything interesting. In one room, though, I saw a group of about 10 people practicing "corn cobs". They were flicking around these dried corn cobs and making a rhythm with them.

Sarah (ex-girlfriend) was on the left end of the line of people and she was periodically twirling the cobs around or flipping them from hand to hand in the air, keeping the rhythm. It was interesting to see. I also noticed that just off to the left of her (my view... to HER right) I saw Em standing there watching them. My stomach almost did a double flip because of the two them being in the same room together. I realized, though, that neither one knew who the other was. Sarah was just practicing, and Em was just observing.

Finally I turned to go get Em and leave before there was any chance that they could figure out who each other was. I went back down the ladder that I had climbed up, and when I got to the bottom, there was an older, heavyset, white haired guy in a gray suit who saw my tee shirt (Mercedes) and started talking to me about the cars. I don't think I really knew much of what he was talking about or what he was asking about, and I wound up telling him that I worked in the Key and Lock Center, and, true to form, he said "oh, okay" and let the subject drop.

Then as found Em, and we started to go back through the Narthex, and to my left at the end, sitting in a couple of fold out chairs and talking to a couple of other people, I saw Sarah's parents. I pointed them out to Emily. I said something specific about her dad, but I forget what it was, such as commenting on his appearance, or saying that he looked like he was doing well, and Em agreed, and then we went back down the big flight of stairs to the front door.

On our way down, Sarah came up behind us. She was calling us names like "The Fat Team" or something, and she through a football shaped beanbag at us, which hit me on the arm or something, but I still caught it. We were trying to just leave, but she kept pursuing us. Finally we were outside, and it was like a park.

As we were getting near to the street, Sarah and several of her jock friends (and some valley girl type of friends, as well) started taunting us and referring to us as the Fat Team again. Em and I tried running by, but somehow we got sucked into this game of Beanbag Football. We wound up throwing the beanbag back and forth, and it was just the two of us against all of them. Of course we were doing terrible with no one to help us, but eventually we managed to break away and get to Em's car. I think that Cobbie was already there waiting on us.

We all got in, and left, and we went to take Cobbie back home. I think we actually wound up taking him to Food Lion in Verona, VA. He told us that he liked the church and that he thought he'd be going back there. Em and I were both very sad about that, but we didn't make an issue of it because it wasn't really our place to decide for him which church to go to. So we bid him farewell, and we left.

We got out to the edge of the parking lot, and we needed to get onto the road that was directly in front of us. It had gotten really cloudy, and maybe even rainy. There was a lot of traffic coming from the left, and we couldn't see past a wall that was there, so we had no way of knowing if someone was flying around that corner or not. Then someone pulled up on our left side (a large truck I believe) and we really couldn't see then.

I got a bit upset about this, and then the truck creeped out into the lane. It stopped, and I saw the driver motion to us to go. They had pulled out into traffic, made sure no one was coming, and then told us when to go, and we realized how cool that was. We waved a thank you, and we sped off to the right. Soon after this I woke up.

When I woke up, I laid there in bed for a moment, thinking about the dream. I knew that I needed to write it down otherwise I'd forget it. So I got up briefly, turned on the bedroom light, came out into the living room, turned on the kitchen light and the living room light, and I went and got my pad of paper, and started to write it down. I was out in the living room, and I heard a noise in the bedroom. I saw Em sitting up, looking a bit peeved at me, and I knew that I should finish quickly. Then I woke up again.

So I woke up and realized that I hadn't written anything down. I got up, went into the bathroom with the pad of paper, and wrote down some notes on the dream. Then I woke up again.

Yes, I really did this time.

Exploding Fighter Jet At The Docks

I started out on these docks in the middle of some city. I was in with this big group of about 40 or 50 people, and we were all supposed to be reporters and members of the press. We were waiting around to hear from someone about some sort of big thing (possibly a tragedy?) that had happened. The way that we were situated was a bit strange. I was laying on my stomach, but I was still at about the same height, if not just a smidge higher, than where my head would be if I were standing. I was up on my elbows, and my knees were bent, and my bare feet were up in the air. I was on some sort of table or something.

At one point, one of the officials that we were waiting there to hear from asked us to all get out our media badges so they could see who should and shouldn't be there. I had mine on a nylon thing around my neck, so I flipped it up in front of me and laid it out on the table. Everyone else did the same. It was almost as if everyone there had a little table right in front of them, even though they were standing, that was about chest high or so, and all of their ID badges landed on the one in front of them. There seemed to be a bit of laughter that went around because, even though we knew that we were legit, the manner in which we all flipped out the badges at the same time and laid them out the same way seemed a little humorous. Even the official grinned.

Then someone came out for us to interview. I wasn't really concentrating on that, though. I was actually a bit worried about the people behind me staring right into my feet. I felt like I hadn't clipped my nails in a while, and I was afraid that they'd notice.

While the person was being interviewed, I looked past him towards this big cloud on the horizon. While I was watching it, I saw something light up orange inside of it, and then burn it's way through it. The glow grew and grew and then just suddenly whimpered out. From the other side of the cloud came this fighter jet.

At first no one else seemed to notice it, even though it was a pretty big scene happening right behind the guy they were interviewing. Then finally someone else noticed. It was a ways in the distance, but the jet turned and started heading towards us on the docks. Most of the media people now noticed it, and they started running in the opposite direction. They headed back up to the street. I didn't, but I'm not sure if it's because I knew that the person in the plane would be hurt or killed, or if I was just too interested to leave, or if I just knew that I wasn't going to get hurt by it by standing there.

Finally the jet came in close and crashed into the water. It tumbled over itself several times, and
finally when it landed, it was upright, and it was close to the docks. A rescue crew was there, and they got the plane close, and a girl in her early 20's got out of it. She was smoking from the explosion, and she was sooty and dazed, but she was okay. She kind of stumbled up onto the docks, and I think I was asking her if she was okay. She blurted out that she wasn't because they (the military) were going to kill her for wrecking one of their planes. I tried to reassure her as we started walking up the dock in the same direction that most of the people had taken off in.

We wound up going a little farther right and we walked right into this warehouse type of building that was there on the docks. Inside it was kind of dark except for the light coming in through the open garage-like doors. At this point a lot more people were around trying to see if she was okay and if she needed anything, and she kept just trying to tell them that she was fine but the military was going to have her neck for this. I somehow got the impression that this wasn't the first time that this had happened to her.

Lord Of The Tapes

I was running through this area that had a sidewalk along side of this road in a heavily wooded area. I was either doing cross country practice or a race, but I was running with a few people that I knew. I think they were along the lines of Stephen, Ronnie and Brian (guys from school). We were running along the sidewalk, and even out in the road at times. There were cars parked along the side of the road, as if we were in a residential part of town, but the streets, at times, seemed to be made of mud.

I tromped through the streets a little bit, but I could feel the mud just sticking really badly to my shoes (which were my grey/blue New Balance shoes with the huge tread on them that I'm wearing now). One place that we were running was almost like a bridge. We were on the left side of the road/sidewalk, and we were running from one hill/mountain to another (the road just cut straight through) and when we got to the deep valley in between them, I remember looking out to my left, and there was a large pond or lake area off from the bridge. It was all so beautiful.

Finally after getting across the valley and to the next mountain, I wound up at Em's parents house. I went in through the the front door, but rather than opening into the foyer area, it went straight into the back side of the living room. The house seemed to be wide, but not deep. It was only about as deep as the kitchen and family room. The living room was cut short.

When I got inside, I no longer had my muddy shoes on, and I was dressed in a sweater and jeans. It was evening time and it was around Christmas. There was a tree all decorated and lit there in the left corner of the living room. I think that Paul (Em's dad) was there either working on decorating it, or having just finished and was now enjoying it. I talked to him briefly, and then I turned right and went through the kitchen and into the family room. When I got over there, all the lights were on. Also, there were no walls between the living room, kitchen, and family room. It was all just one big room. The TV was on, and I think there was also a Christmas Tree up there, too.

I went in and laid on my stomach by the tree (which was small, VERY sparse on branches, and poorly decorated) and started to watch TV. Hardly any sooner than I laid down, Em came downstairs yelling at her mom. She was saying stuff like, "You have no right to go through our stuff just because you feel like it!" or "I don't care! You need to ask us first, or just ask us to look for it!" I started to get really tense about it because I knew that Em's mom could be nosey about stuff, and I was wondering what in the world she would have gone through to make Em so mad.

I turned around, sat up, and asked, "What's going on, Em?" Em and her mom basically started explaining at the same time, in their own ways, what was going on. Basically, Marilyn thought that we had taken a cassette tape of hers and hadn't brought it back. Em thought that her mom was coming up with reasons for snooping around. Em, though, had the tape in her hand, so evidently it actually was in our room, but at the same time, I knew that there was a good possibility that was being used as an excuse to poke around. I thought for a bit that she might have gone through our computers. But just thinking about her poking around through the stuff on our desks made me feel a pretty violated.

I told Em to give her the tape so that she wouldn't have any more reason to go snooping around in there. She gave her the tape, and they both wound up leaving. Then, some new people started showing up. There was Ian Mckellin as Gandalf, there was Ron Pearlman from Hellboy, and someone else (some female, I think) that all showed up in the living room. I think that at first they were mimicking the fight that Em and Marilyn were just having. One of them wound up shooting some sort of fireball or something that hit the pathetic little fake Christmas Tree, and it burst into flames and melted right onto the carpet. Then someone else shot something back at them, and by the end of it, I saw all three of them flop down onto the carpet face first.

Then the scene kind of folded away, we were were suddenly outside where it was nice and sun shiny again. We were in the lake that I had seen in the valley earlier while I was running. We kind of splashed around and swam around, and I think they were still playfully throwing fireballs at one another. I think I wound up going up to each one and giving them hugs. Then we got out of the water, and we were outside of a large building, and I knew that we had just finished being in one of the Lord Of The Rings movies. There were tons of famous people outside, only they were all very young children.

We met the young Jackson's, only we didn't see Michael. We gave them all hugs, knowing that they needed it so that they might turn out better when they grew up. We met a bunch of kids that grew up to be famous. It was as if we had gone back in time, even though all these kids were relatively the same age, I knew that when they were famous, they were from a lot of different times in my life, and they were all different ages once they were famous. They were all on this two or three foot tall ledge that went around the right side perimeter of the building. This made the kids roughly as tall as we were. We also met a young Rudolph Giuliani, and Ian Mckellin gave him a book on politics.

As we were finally leaving the long line of people and heading out through this side door (we were still outside, but it was like this was in an atrium of some sort, and we went through the door to the "real" outside) to our right. As we were leaving, I asked Ian about him giving Rudolph that book, and I said, "We'll never know. That book could have been what made him a great mayor in the first place, or it could be that it will make him a better one," and Ian just smiled and said, "yes, you're right. We may never know." Then when I finally got outside, I was back in my running shoes, and Ronnie and Stephen were there again. We were running again, but this time there was a lot more mud than before. I could really feel it slowing me down, but I just tried to keep moving. I was telling them about my experience with the Lord Of The Rings cast, and how cool it was.

We finally were running down the road that Pleasant Valley Church is on, and I said goodbye to Ronnie and Stephen, and I turned left onto the road where Mike's (former step father) house is. I was still having a hard time running, but I knew if I just kept at it, I'd finally get there. I thought for a moment how I might run down to Grandmamma's house, and then come back, turn right, and head towards Weyers Cave, and as I though it, I could see it happening from above, like everything was now a map.

Bryan Found Me In Texas

I was on a major highway system, and I was heading north, I think. I was traveling towards the major airport of the area. I'm not sure what area I was supposed to be in, but whatever it was, it was supposed to be familiar to me. I was traveling fairly quickly, and all of a sudden there was a big uproar. It seems that a lot of police and fire department personnel, and some airline security people, all of a sudden showed up surrounding me on the road. It's like they all drove/flew in from my peripheral vision all at once, and converged into one area directly in front of my by a couple of hundred feet.

I slowed down and came to a stop. It turned out that there was something about some guy that was trying to blow up the airport or airplanes or something, and they were just able to capture him. Because of the construction of the road, there was room under the road for something about the size of a mobile home or a 18 wheeler trailer. After his capture, they put him in there. I don't know what got me to do it, but eventually I wound up under the road and in the trailer/mobile home with the suspect. I was told before I went in that he was very fanatical about something, and talking to him would be dangerous for me.

I went in anyway, and found out that he was actually a relative of mine. He was either supposed to be my son, or a nephew of mine. They had his arms and hands bound up in a straight jacket, but he was free to walk around in there. I was surprised to see this relative in so much trouble and to see how he had gone really down hill. Slowly, as I talked to him or hung around in there with him, he started to change and become more and more familiar. Slowly he changed into Bryan (the guy that stalked me in Virginia), and I realized that I had to leave. Eventually I did, but I started getting letters from Bryan, who was telling me about his recent life and telling me how he wanted to see me again.

I was trying to read the letter as I was driving. It was night time, and I was in my old Toyota Carolla FX. I was driving down the road that went past the Farm Bureau. I was having trouble reading because of lack of light, movement because of driving, and I just couldn't concentrate. I was getting upset about Bryan having found me in Texas. (even though I was in Virginia?)

Finally I decided to go home. I turned right and went towards the Weyers Cave Post Office, parked in front and got out. I went into the main lobby and up the stairs that were right in front of me. Em (wife) and I had an apartment that was in an upper floor of the post office. I got up there, put my stuff down, and went into our bedroom and bathroom to change. There was a bit of light coming in from outside, almost as if it were late evening now, and the light had a bit of a green tint to it.

I got my pants off, and then I heard a noise out in the other room. There weren't any windows in our master bath, and our bedroom only had one window that was off to my right. (the left was the door that went out into the living room). I left the bedroom, went through our dining room, and turned right into the living area. I heard another noise, and I went to the edge of the living area and looked out onto the screened porch. (I was now very obviously on the ground floor)

Off to the right, where the door to the porch went outside, I saw a dark figure moving. I knew it was Bryan. He started coming in through the screened porch. I starting having a quiet fit while trying to creep away from the window unseen. I was starting to panic because I didn't know what to do. He knew where we lived, and he was coming in, not realizing that I was there. I felt completely trapped.

Catching a Ride With Loy

I was on my way to work at Mercedes, and it was night time out. I was traveling along I-64 in VA heading towards Charlottesville, and it started raining. I think my car broke down or something, and just as I got past the ridge of the mountain, I had to get out of my car to walk to work. I was pretty upset about this, and I gathered up my bag of stuff and slung it over my shoulder and started walking.

After only a minute or two, Loy Hamilton pulled up beside me and offered me a ride. I accepted and climbed into the passenger side of his tan Dodge Ram truck. Being a talkative guy, he started talking quite a bit. I wasn't really in the mood to listen to him, but I decided to deal with it because things could certainly be worse. I could be out walking in the rain. I kind of sleepily settled against the passenger side door while holding my bag in my lap and listening to Loy talk. I started to feel warm and sleepy, and the dream ended about here.

Today's Part Of Gabriel Will Be Played By A Drunk John Goodman

I started out at a mall, and I was waiting for a bunch of people. I was waiting for Em (wife), her family, and my family. I was in one of the main hallway areas, and I was wondering where they could be. Everything in there was pretty darkly decorated. The floor was brown and black spotted marble or granite, and the walls were all dark. The ceiling was a bit low, and the only light in the place seemed to be coming from sparse skylights and the doors that went outside.

I walked down to one stand in the middle of the mall, and then I turned around and walked back. As I walked back, I noticed that there was a fountain in this area. The area was a bit like a crossing of two major hallways of the mall. I kept walking a bit past my original point, keeping an eye out for the family, but I didn't see anyone. I went into a kiosk that was supposed to be from the bedding section of some place like Sears or JCPenny. There was a lot of gossamer curtains hanging up around, and there was a lot of lace and fluffy down pillows and mattresses. It seemed a bit overwhelming, actually. Everything was only in white, too. There was no color to it.

I wound up leaving the kiosk and going back to the fountain area, and as I looked towards one of the doors off to my right (as I was facing the original direction in which I walked before I turned around and went to the bedding kiosk) and I saw Em, mom, Eric, and Matthew (brothers) coming through and heading for me. I was happy to see them, and they were happy to see me. I offered them something to eat while we waited for Em's parents, and we wound up having some Irish Stew served in a bread bowl. It was very good. Finally Em's parents showed up. We hung out and talked for a bit.

The next thing I remember is that it's suddenly very early in the morning, and Em, Matthew, and I are outside of the mall, heading up towards one of the main entrances. The entrance was in a sort of an alcove or atrium like area. Three sides of it had mall entrances, and one side faced the street. Everything was painted all white, and the "roof" of the atrium was supported on square white pillars.

We turned and went to the entrance to the left. There were guards in front of the doors. They were there to keep out any of the "early bird" shoppers. I knew, though, that I was there for another reason. I went up to them, completely intent on getting inside, and when they tried to block my passage inside, I said to them, as straight and serious as I could, "You know who I'm here to see."

In my mind I had formulated that I was there to see the Archangel Gabriel. They looked at each other, looked back and me, nodded, and stepped out of our way. Once I was inside, I was alone. I thought Em and Matthew had come in with me, but they were no longer there. At the same time, I didn't notice that they had gone missing. I just basically forgotten that they had been there to start with.

Anyway, I went in, and I wound up at this bar area that was in some sort of lobby, almost like it was a hotel or something. At the bar, I found him: Archangel Gabriel. The funny thing was that he was drunk, and not only that, but he was John Goodman. He stumbled up out of his stool and meandered over in my direction. I think that I asked him about being John Goodman,(or maybe I just wondered to myself, but he heard my thought) and he basically replied that it didn't matter and that he could look however he wanted to. I accepted that, and all was well. We went over to an area that had several rows of tan metal fold-down chairs. As we were talking, I was also watching us talk from an outside perspective.

Shortly after this, I was fully an outside spectator, and someone that just looked like me (a thinner and younger me) was the one talking to him. I decided to go ahead and take my leave, and I wound up only being able to leave by crawling over several rows of these metal fold-down chairs. They were packed really tightly together, and I figured that I'd go more unnoticed if I didn't try to walk through them or move them out of my way.

Finally I got to the short wall that separated the seating area from a walking aisle, almost like the edge of church pews have the part that almost acts like a wall that makes the distinct aisle between the rows. Anyway, I finally got out there to the aisle, and hopped over the wall, where I promptly fell down on my face. I quickly got up and turned right, heading back out the way that I originally came in. In a way I was watching myself from yet another outside perspective as I was doing this.

Winter Amusement Park On The Bay

There was something about being outside, and I was in this big city. I think that there was a fair bit of traveling around in this city before the part that I remember, but I'm unsure. One of the next things that I remember is being on a speed boat. It was being driven by someone I know (perhaps from work) but I can't remember now who it was. The water of the bay that we were on was very cold, and had even frozen up in spots. I believe that Carla (from school) was in the boat with us. The driver took off across the icey parts faster than he had done with the water, and it frightened me a bit. He said that it was really okay, and we just went skipping across these broken sheets of ice that were floating on the top of the water. I held on tightly.

There were big white snowy cliffs off to the right, and on the left were a couple of power wire supports on huge cement blocks out in the water. Straight ahead of us was a big cliff, and we were going to need to go to the left to avoid it. I think that the guy driving the boat actually jumped the boat and landed us up on top of the cliff. Carla and I got out, and he said something about having fun and just call when we're ready to be picked up.

I turned around and looked, and I realized that this was some sort of wintery amusement park with snow slides and stuff like that. I think that we started to go on a couple of rides, and eventually called the guy back to pick us up. I think there was also something that was more important and pressing that we had to go do after he picked us up, but I can't remember what it might have been.

Scott's School Daze

I first remember being in some sort of large city. I was in a downtown area that seemed a bit like a toned down Vegas or something. There was quite a bit of light down there, but it was night time. At some point I wound up going into a large building that turned out to be a hotel. I went in and got settled into place. At some point Scott (best friend from elementary school) was there talking to me. The room I was in was several stories up (10th or so?) and it was huge. The room seemed to be about the size of the entire key and lock site at work.

Next I was on a school bus, and it was driving through Main Street Weyers Cave. We were heading towards the main intersection in town and we were going by the old gas station, which is now Wren's Auto Repair. I was sitting up in the front of the bus in the seat directly behind the driver. At the time I knew who was driving, but now I can't remember. I know that the front of the bus was a bit strange in that it also had room for a couple of people to stand. Teresa (from Mercedes) was there, and she was the one standing. I think she was supposed to be helping out the driver with directions.

It seems that at some point, the driver even got up and walked around the front of the bus a bit-- while the bus was still moving! But I didn't think anything of it. It was a woman. I do know that much, but I just can't place exactly who it was. I know that Scott Barker was on the bus, too, and I think I wound up going back towards the middle of the bus to talk to him at one point. I think we were supposed to be going to, or heading back from, a track competition.

Finally we got back to Fort Defiance High School and we were in the locker room there. I was talking to Scott again for a bit while we were supposed to be changing. Funny enough, it seems like we were supposed to be changing INTO our track stuff at this point.

After that I remember being out in a subdivision in Weyers Cave that was being built at the end of the subdivision where Scott used to live. It was supposed to be Basswood Village (the place where we're supposed to be moving to in June 2005) I went to see the progress on the house I
was planning on moving in to. I don't think I was in a car, but maybe on a bike or something. I rode up one street and looked at the partially built houses. It seemed that they built these things a little oddly. They had the walls up and all finished (sheetrocked and painted, and even carpet was done) but the roofs were not on yet. Even though a lot of them were 2 story homes, I could still see down inside. It wasn't quite like I was flying, but maybe something more like I was just
really huge compared to the houses.

I turned right at the end of the street and turned right again at the next street so that I was looping around this block of 8 or 10 houses. I think I was having trouble finding my particular house. I kept moving around, and when I got to the end of this street, I turned right again, and then again, going back up the first street I had been on. I felt that I had missed it and wanted to check for it again.

Finally I was out on the football field at Fort Defiance. I think there was something about traveling on this large highway system to get there. Anyway, we were all out on the football field, and I think we were in some sort of class. Everyone was lined up along one edge. From right to left, they had the boys alphabetical by last name, and then the girls were the same. I was at the very end of the boys row, so I was standing between a girl and a guy. They had every one to do this thing about finding a partner.

Even though a lot of people moved around, it was almost like the class sized doubled. They had one row standing and facing another row. It took a bit for everyone to find the partner that they wanted, and there was a lot of talking and laughing. I can't remember what the reason for finding a partner was, but Scott wound up finding me and standing facing me.

There was a lot of talking going on, and the people leading this whole thing (three or four people in business suits) were getting impatient. I think the partners had something to do with dancing, and I remember the girls next to me giggling at Scott because, while it was okay for them to pair up with other girls, for guys to pair up was wrong, and they were laughing at Scott for not realizing that we were going to be dancing. When he did realize, he just laughed because he wondered how he could have missed that part. At one point I put my hands on his shoulders and kind of shook him, laughing as well, and I remember seeing his face very clearly while he was laughing.

Tornados and Traveling The Wrong Way

Em (wife) and I were driving to her parents house from here in Texas. We were on a major highway, but no one else was driving on it. I could see way ahead (almost as if I were up above everything, and I could see that the road split around this city, and I had to go either left or right and go around it in order to get where I was going.

As we were approaching, Em mentioned something about it looking like there was going to be a tornado. I looked around, and it did indeed seem very gloomy out, so I told her that at the next exit, I would turn around and head back for a bit. We wound up taking the right hand fork and looked for a place to turn around. Even though it was supposed to be on a highway, I think I pulled off at a parking area of a warehouse that was on the side of this deserted city street. I pulled in and turned around.

As I was turning around, I was looking up in the sky. I could see spots in the clouds that were swirling around in a threatening manner, but I didn't see any actual tornadoes yet. It also didn't seem quite dark enough in the sky. Just as I was finishing turning around, I spotted a place in the clouds where it DID seem pretty dark, and so I was anxious to get away from it. I looked up again as I started to drive back the way I came, and saw some little wisps of mini-tornadoes starting in various places in the sky.

Suddenly there was a roar and the main tornado ripped up behind us and went right by us. It didn't managed to touch us, or even affect us, but it did frighten us a bit as it went by/overhead. Finally we were able to get going again.

Soon after the storm incident, Em got on the phone with her dad. He was mentioning something about how we needed to pick up the flight out of Stuarts Draft. I thought, "Oh great! I've been driving for hours when I could have been flying!" He then mentioned something about 14 hours. I though that it didn't make sense that the flight would take 14 hours, and then I realized that Stuarts Draft was in Virginia, and if we were catching the flight there, then that meant that we were going to drive there from Texas and then fly back later. I asked Paul if that's what he meant, and he said yes.

By this time we were passing through an area that was supposed to be in the Afton Mountain/Charlottesville area, and we were heading east. Then somehow through talking with Em's dad, it made me realize that I was already in the area that I needed to be in (Virginia) and that heading east towards Virginia Beach/Newport News was ridiculous. I got upset because here I had been driving for about 2 or 3 hours, and now I had to go back to where I had started. I really wasn't pleased about that at all, and I was dreading the prospect of driving back over the same area I had just come through. I think my dream ended about the time that I realized I needed to make the trip back.

Select-A-Date for Charity

I was in some sort of diner/restaurant, and it was night time out. While I was sitting there eating, I realized that I was there with a bunch of people from my graduating class. We were all supposed to still be in school, and we were there to start out working on some project. I was sitting at a table with Scott (best friend from elementary school), and we were discussing something about time travel, or time altering. He had some idea about how to warp time so that travel to and from places could seem instantaneous to the world, but the traveler would actually have to take the time for the journey.

While we were sitting there, the door on the left side of of the diner opened up, and in came a group of girls. One of the girls was Christine (tall girl from elementary school). Actually, she was the one surrounded by all the others, as if they were all enthralled with her and wanting to all be her best friend at the same time. One thing that I noticed very quickly was that she was in a wheel chair. She had been in some sort of accident (I think I knew at the time what that accident had been, although I can't remember it now) and was in the chair because of it.

I think I waited until her throng of friends went to go order or something, and I went over to her and said hi. She seemed tired, but excited to see me. We talked for a moment, and then I went back over and sat down at the table with Scott.

The next thing I know, I'm standing outside of the garage that used to be standing next to the Big Barn at Grandmamma's House. Scott is in the gravel area, and he had a tractor and some other big equipment. He was getting stuff set up for his time experiment.

While he was doing that, there were a couple of girls from Christine's group of friends that came up to talk to me one at a time. Somehow I had become part of some sort of contest. Each of these girls were trying to woo me into going out on some sort of date with them. The first one was a chunky blond girl, and the second was a short and short-haired redheaded girl. In between talking to them, I was watching Scott try out his experiment.

Near the garage, there was something set up to fire a large (five or six feet) arrow with a rope tied to the back. As the arrow progressed through the air towards the Garber's farm, the area behind it went back in time. As Scott went over to pick up the arrow, time flowed as usual, and by the time he got to the arrow and picked it up, the time was now back to the exact moment that he had fired it. The arrow/rope thing actually allowed someone to fire it at their destination, and from that point on, however long it took for them to travel to that destination, it would allow them to arrive at that destination at the exact same moment that they had fired the arrow. So, while the travel took time for the person firing the arrow, to the person at the destination, it seemed that the travel was instantaneous. I thought it was pretty ingenious in the dream.

While Scott was preparing for the final phase of the experiment, the friends of Christine came up and started talking to me again, trying to win me over as their "date". I wound up hunting down Christine (who was actually in the garage at the time, and standing, although feebly, on her own two legs) and telling her that I wanted her to be my date instead of any of the other girls. She was shyly happy about it, but somehow word spread quickly. I went to go talk to the chunky blond girl, and she already knew that I had chosen Christine. She was giving me the cold shoulder treatment, but I told her anyway just so there would be no confusion as to what I had chosen to do. I didn't want any of it to come back and haunt me later because I hadn't been specific with this girl that I had not chosen her. After talking to her, I then spoke briefly to the redheaded girl and told her the same thing. She treated me the same way.

Then I got back to Scott and the time experiment. He fired off the arrow, and it flew out in slow motion. I made a "slow gunshot sound" (like the sound used in the Matrix movies when a gun is fired in slo-mo) and traveled slowly towards the Garber's farm. In it's wake it rippled the air like the visual effects in the Matrix for flying bullets. We then got aboard the tractor that Scott had there with him, and we traveled down to the Garber's farm. After we got there, we were suddenly on a school bus. Christine was there, and she was sitting somewhere around me (either in the same seat as me, or in one in front of or behind me) The time it took to travel there was instantaneous to the rest of the world because of Scott's invention. I started talking to Christine about the "date" that we were supposed to go out on, and she was smiling shyly. It was about here that the dream ended.

Work, Death, and Ghost Training

There was something about being on this bus with a couple of new guys that they were bringing in to work (Mercedes). I'm not sure why I was with them on their way in, but I just happened to be. It was a white guy that was kind of like a whiny version of the guy Shawn on Boy Meets World, a black guy with a white doo-rag, and a third guy that I'm not sure what he was, but it could have been Mexican.

I found out that I was going to be training one or more of them in the Infrared Room. I think the black guy was the first one to come in, and I was trying to show him the crossfire keys. (I think it was just the assembly part, because I never went over to the programming station) He wasn't paying much attention because he kept standing around and chatting with Don (fat guy from work) about football or basketball. I was getting pretty irked about it, and I think that I finally just started giving up on training the guy. The guy got a bit huffy at me for blowing him off like I was doing something wrong. I think I finally wound up leaving, but by that time, the white guy was in there to train. I think that I figured it would turn out the same as the black guy, so I just left.

Eventually I wound up at this mall at night time. There wasn't anyone there except those of us from work and their spouses. I think that rather than it being late, it was actually very early, and we were supposed to be getting ready for work. I had been out walking around the mall and in this fountain area in the main intersection of the mall when I realized that I needed to get ready to go. I hurried down to Em's and my "apartment" (it was more like a storage room that we were living in and sharing with others) and got into the (huge!) bathroom and jumped into the shower.

I was in the shower trying to hurry when I heard Don coming in with the new guys. Something about how Don sounded, I could tell he was younger, like he was in college or something. I knew that they were coming to pick on me while I was in the shower. I turned off the water so I could soap up, and I heard them comment on that. I looked up at the opposite end of the shower, and I could see a mirror there, and I could see myself soaping up.

Anyway, they thought I was done in the shower. I turned and faced towards the shower curtain to my left, and just as I saw Don open in and peek through, I took my soapy left fist and slammed it into his face, not really hurting him, but getting lots of soap in his eyes. He left, cussing at me as he went. I hurried and jumped out of the shower and tried to dry off and get dressed. I kept having trouble because people kept coming through while I was there in the bathroom naked. Em finally came to help me, and when some of the others found out, they started making fun of me. I didn't care, but I kept getting ready for work anyway. Em gave me her usual "cheer up" and "it will be okay, sweetie" and gave me a kiss and hug before I left.

I don't think I ever made it to work, though. I think there was something about showing up on some high building ledge or something, and either I jumped or fell, I'm not sure, and I landed in the muddy street below, which had the feel of a rainy version of the muddy and gravel driveway that went around Weyers Cave Elementary School.

Even though I was laying on the ground, I was still able to see myself from a distance of a few feet away. I had busted a hole in my head and was bleeding profusely, and I was laying there with my eyes open, not moving at all. I realized that I was dead, and others around me realized it too. Then I started to notice that the new guys from work were actually ghosts. I also saw the girl that played one of the grim reapers (the curly haired one that wore the blue dress) on Dead Like Me.

They took me back, albeit somewhat roughly, to the mall that I had been living in. I was now in the fountain area, and again it was night time, and there a lot of people there splashing, swimming, and playing. I got a better look at the fountain area this time. The way it worked was it wasn't out in the middle of the main intersection, but off to the side, wrapped around one of the corners. It was about 6 or 8 feet wide, about 20 feet long on each side from the corner, and only a foot or so deep, yet people were swimming in it as if it were 10 feet deep. I realized that they were all ghosts. It was funny, though, because a lot of them had things like the arm floaties and snorkels/goggles on for swimming, as if they were afraid of dying again.

I jumped into the fountain with them and swam around a bit. Some of them, especially the white guy that I was supposed to train at work, were being somewhat dickish to me, acting like I was constantly getting in their way. I wound up going down one side of the fountain where there was no one else. The area that I was in was almost like it was just outside of Legget's/Belk's at the food-court end of the Harrisonburg mall, and I was on the left hand wall heading towards Belk's.

Just as I got all the way down to the very end of the fountain, I turned around. I was noticing how warm the water was, almost like bath water. Just after I turned around, I saw the woman in the blue dress heading towards me. She was smiling a little bit, like she was glad that she had caught me away from the others. I remembered that she had been rough or snippity towards me soon after my death, so I wasn't sure that I really wanted to talk to her. She came up close and touched my leg and said, "hey, I just wanted to let you know that I really like you, but I can't let the others know that." As she was saying this, her face was getting closer to mine, almost as if she wanted to kiss me. I watched her closely, and something caught my eye. On her nose, right around her nostrils, there were these black slivers that were almost coming out of her nose, going up the outside just a bit, and then going back in through the skin. They had a "quick slug" like quality to them. I was amazed and repulsed at the same time.

Then I suddenly realized that all of these ghosts kept something about the way that they died. For this girl, it was these black things. For me, I realized that I must have a big hole in the back of my head from where I landed on it. Others were mangled in various (usually minor) ways, although I couldn't really pinpoint anyone else's ailments.

Right after this, it was as if a day or two had gone by, and now all the new ghosts (such as myself) were being trained on how to do things like flying and walking through things. They had a step ladder in the middle of the intersection that reached up towards the big chandelier, and we were supposed to float up as high as we could and touch one of the steps on the ladder. I did okay, but with a bit of difficulty. After that was done, there was a Wattaburger cup setting up on the banister/railing of the second story right there at the intersection. We were supposed to float up and get it down. Just as I was getting ready to, I woke up.

Geometric Balloons

I was at a restaurant that had a feeling very smilier to Chucky Cheese, but for adults. It also seemed a little like Don Pablo's or Chevy's (Mexican restaurants), but I can't really figure out in what way. Anyway, while I was there, I wound up seeing Pat (former step-father) and Nick (Pat's son). The funny thing about seeing them there was that they didn't seem to be there together as a family. It was almost as if they didn't know the other was there. I think I passed Pat briefly, and I just remember him smiling pretty big and laughing while he greeted me. I didn't really have time to react to him, and if I had the time, I'm not sure what I would have done.

While I was looking around, I saw that lots of people had very large balloons, but they weren't normal balloons. These were really strange shapes. Most of them were huge (8 or 10 feet across/tall) and they were made of very odd geometric shapes like cylinders and tetrahedra. Most of them were groups of these objects. For example, there was maybe one that was a tetrahedra, and an inverted one running through it, and it had donut shaped tubes extending out from several surfaces. One of them looked a bit like the Emerald City of Oz, which was a bunch of towers all grouped together in a bundle. Most of these balloons were held down by four strings, one attached to each corner. Sometimes kids were running around with them, sometimes adults were, and other times they were anchored to tables (booth seats) while people sat there and ate.

Eventually there was some prize offered, depending on the balloon you had. This is actually when I saw Nick. He was sitting at a booth underneath a VERY large (60 or 80 inch?) television display that was suspended near the ceiling. Suddenly he disappeared and was on the screen very briefly while a news cast was telling about him being on a space station because of the prize he had won with his balloon. After a minute or two, he re-materialized there in his seat and looked all thrilled about his experience.

I think I started to ask him about it, and I decided that there was a possibility that he had been tricked. I knew that he had been teleported out and about somewhere, but I though that maybe he was just taken to a far off building somewhere and told that it was a space station. I think I asked him about this, and before he could even answer about it, I wound up thinking that if that were the case, he would have always had gravity, and somehow I knew that he had in fact been able to float freely around the place.

Dumping the Ants

Emily (wife) and I were in this house that was supposed to be ours. Her parents were in town visiting, and it was night time at this point. I don't remember how it started out, but eventually it wound up that Em and I were in the bedroom/bathroom (which seemed to be all one room) upstairs. The house was laid out a little like her parents' house, and the master bedroom where we were was upstairs.

When we were in the bathroom side of the room, most of the lights were off or dim, and her parents were in there. Her parents were looking around inspecting everything (which probably came from the fact that yesterday we were out at the site for the new home in Fort Worth, and we were walking around and they were inspecting everything closely) I think they must have left after a short bit, and I think we went to sleep or something, because the next thing I know, it's daytime (morning) and we're up and about as if we had just woken up.

The bedroom we were in had changed, although we didn't realize it in the dream. We were in a huge mahogany canopy bed, and there were huge windows all around us that let in a lot of light. The room that we were in reflected the appearance of the bed. Big and old and intricate. It was very nice, and reminded me a lot of Vermont. I think there may have even appeared to have been snow outside on the ground.

Anyway, I got up, and I saw these things that I kept thinking of and referring to as pomegranates. They looked like the dried items on stems that we see at places like the Bombay Company or Kirkland's, and they almost look like dried wasp nests on a stick. I'm not sure what they really are, but they always creep me out. In the dream, though, they weren't on sticks. It was just the nest looking things, and they were more like dried fruit that were split in half. I remember picking some of them up and they crumbled in my hand into these things that actually looked a lot like skinny and pointy beans, or even wasp tails. If I twisted the dried half just right, it would crumble apart into these things.

I wound up with lots and lots of these, evidently, and I had big flat Tupperware containers of these things that had crumbled. A lot of them had even crumbled into smaller pieces, somewhat like sand or dirt. I was looking through the bottoms of some of these containers, and I noticed a lot of little bugs crawling around in there, making nests and whatnot as if it were just dirt. I realized that these things were full of ants and bugs, and so I wanted to get rid of not only the Tupperware, but everything.

Emily and I wound up going outside with about six or eight of these containers. (which, by the way, were all the size of the large flat ones that are under our bed) When we went outside, it was like we were out in Grandmamma's yard. We looked over towards the mobile home that grandmamma used to live in, and in the back of it where there used to be a corn field, it was now a forest. The trees were large and really overshadowed the trailer.

First we looked at the driveway, and there was a lot of gravel left from when they had laid the gravel for the driveway. I thought at first we would just dump the stuff into the driveway and cover it over with gravel, but for some reason we thought we'd be more likely to be caught if we did it that way, so we looked for something else. We went around to the back side of the trailer, and we could see that the aluminum skirting had been removed from around it. There was a big mound of dirt up under the far end of the trailer, so we thought we'd dump it all there and smooth it around since our stuff looked like the dirt that was there anyway.

We headed up to that end of the trailer, and just as we were almost ready to start, just past the end of the trailer we saw a set of school items, such as books, notebooks, a backpack, and a few other things that showed that someone had been there recently studying, and they'd likely be back. I heard a radio playing, and I realized that it was coming from inside the trailer. I didn't think anyone was in there, but I DID think that whoever had been out here studying had been the one listening to the radio in the trailer. I told Em to wait for a bit while I went to turn the radio off, figuring that if it was off, then the person wouldn't come back.

There were steps right there on the end of the trailer (to contrast, they should have been on one of the long sides), so I walked up the stairs to go into the door. The door, instead of being a regular door, was more like an iron gate, and as I looked around, the forest was now all around us, and the top of the trailer was open, just as if there were no roof on it. I pushed and tugged at the gate a bit before it actually opened. I went inside and over to the left, and I turned off the radio. I then went back outside to dump the dirt, but I think before I even got out there, the dream ended.

The Drewrys are Jewish

I was at Pleasant Valley Church after a service, and Anita (the mother of Andy, a guy who was a friend of mine in school) was trying to hurry and prepare kosher food for Dale (Andy's brother). Evidently it was supposed to be Dale's barmitzvah, but they were holding it at the church. This was the first time I had ever heard of Dale, Anita, or anyone in their family being Jewish. I thought it was a bit odd that they were trying to do this at the church, but Anita told me, while she was setting up the tables in the Fellowship Hall, that she wanted to have it where Dale's friends were, rather than making them go somewhere else to do it.

Anita seemed all flustered because of the pressure to get things done, but I never really jumped in and helped out. I was just watching. I think I was a bit stunned by the whole thing. I saw her taking food out of the oven and putting more food into it in the kitchen, and I think Dale showed up periodically to see how things were going. People were leaving church for the day, and Dale's friends were supposed to be sticking around. I think some of them were leaving because they didn't have any idea what was going on. The whole thing reminds me of the Jewish family on South Park. Anita really reminded me of Sheila, the mom.

Cards For Dimensional Travel

I was in a factory/school. I was up on this mezzanine area, and I was waiting to be able to leave
for the day. While I was waiting, everyone was making toys (stuffed animals and the like) and I remember making an Elmo doll and doing something that made it say something that was particularly funny. I showed it around to a number of people, and they had fun messing around with it. Finally we were allowed to go.

I left, and when I got outside, it was dark out. One of my co-workers needed a ride home, and since her place was on the way to mine, I offered her a ride. We went to look for my car, but we didn't see it around, so we started to walk, figuring that I had walked there in the first place.
The area we were in was like the main street of Mount Sidney, VA, right around the stop light area.

We got to her apartment complex, and for some reason I expected to see my car in the parking lot there, but I didn't see it anywhere. I wound up turning around and walking back to work, thinking that it must be there, but I had just missed it. She walked with me (as if because I hadn't given her a ride in the car, she couldn't actually go home) She was telling me that I needed to buy a new car, and be sure to get something that wasn't so junky as my Hyundai. I kept telling her that it was not a junky car, and that it was practically new having just bought it in '99. She didn't agree with me, though. We were talking about this during most of the walk. At one point we even passed a used car dealership, and she was telling me that I needed to "get one of those cars" because they'd be better than what I had.

We got back to the parking lot at work and sure enough, there was my car, parked practically by the road. I was looking at my car, somehow intending on proving how non-junky my car was, but I kept finding places where the paint was rusting off or places where there were tears or holes in the body, on the bumper, or wherever. I didn't get upset about it though. I just figured it was from rocks and gravel flying up from the road while I was driving. So we got into my car, and I pulled to the edge of the parking lot, waiting for a break in the traffic. Finally I was able to pull out, and we left.

The next thing I know is that I'm pulling in to a church parking lot with Em (my wife. The co-worker had changed into Em during this time) and we got out and went inside. On the inside, it wasn't really like a church, though. It was more like an old house. There was an old lady inside who was supposed to be running the place. She was very stern and proper. She had gray hair pulled up into a tight bun, and she was wearing a nice dress, possibly a pale peach, orange, or tan color.

I believe that at one point, she pulled out a deck of cards. She shuffled them or spread them out or something, and when we touched the faces of certain cards different things would happen to our surroundings. Unfortunately, I don't remember the first couple of things that happened, but the first major thing I remember is that Em was telling the lady that we had been together back in 1267, and I had the same wedding ring then that I had on now. The lady said "Oh no he didn't" and touched the face of one of the cards.

We were suddenly surrounded by what looked like a castle sort of area, and I remember seeing two men/creatures there with us. Everything was dark and brooding. Somehow this was supposed to prove to Em that either her and I weren't together at that time, or that I didn't have the same ring on. In looking around, the lady had disappeared, but the deck of cards were there on a wooden table near by. I spread them out, and I was looking for the aces. I somehow knew that the aces would transport us back to our original time and location. I found one, and
touched the face of it (almost as if I were pressing a button). Everything around us sort of rippled, and suddenly we were surrounded by a lot of fire.

I could feel the presence of something really bad there with us. We still had the cards, though, and so I searched through and found another ace. I touched it the same way as the first, and everything around us started rippling again, but this time it didn't really stop. There were loud noises like strong winds and screaming. (somewhat like when Frodo was invisible in Lord Of The
Rings) Em was terrified, and she was wanting to go through and try touching all the cards until we found the one that got us home. I knew that was a bad idea, and I was somehow able to convince her not to.

Then through the rippling, I could make out the pattern of the wallpaper of the old house/church we had started out in. I remembered something that had happened earlier where I had somehow been shown that touching various spots on the pattern would do the same as the cards. I knew what shape in the pattern I was looking for, but at the same time, I knew that I wouldn't know it for sure until I saw it. I touched one part of the pattern, and the outlines of the pattern
started to glow red and flow outwards from the point where I had touched it.

Everything was getting louder and more frightening, but I knew if I found the right shape, I could get out with Em. Then finally I saw it. It was like a four-leaf clover without a stem. I went over to it and was kneeling on a rock to be able to reach it. Almost as if in slow motion, I reached up and pushed on it as if it were a button, and though it didn't move, everything suddenly stopped.

We were back in the church/house. The old lady was there, almost smiling at us for being able to figure out how to get out of there. I think that wound up keeping the deck of cards, and Em and I left. Somehow I knew we had been on some sort of great spiritual trip, but I didn't really know the meaning of it. (and I still don't) But I was thinking that I intended to go back and explore it sometime, so that instead of being scared the whole time, I could go back and learn from it.

Everything That is Wrong With Marilyn

I started out at Grandmamma's house, and it was a cold, cloudy, and rainy day. The thing is,
Paul and Marilyn (in-laws) lived there instead of my family. I think I had just purchased a new car stereo for Em's car, and had gotten it installed, and I was testing it out in the little parking area at the end of the sidewalk in front of the house. But it didn't look like Em's car. It was somewhat closer to my car, and I was messing around with it in the open hatchback/trunk area.

When I was done, I knew that Em and I had to go somewhere to meet up with a couple of friends, and the drive was an hour or two away (in Winchester?) I went inside, and I think I had to wake Em up out of bed, which I did. Our room was in the downstairs bedroom. Right after waking her up, Em's parents showed up and started talking to us. They were wanting to know where we were going. We told them, and Marilyn got all upset because she had assumed that we were going to be out drinking, when we were actually just going to a Pizza Hut. We tried to tell her that we weren't going to be drinking, and she wouldn't believe us. It was like she didn't hear us, and kept on about it anyway.

With her getting all riled up, it got me a bit flustered, and I think at one point I snapped back a bit at her. That just made her more upset, and it upset Paul a bit, too. He wasn't saying much, but I think after a particular snappy reply, he was saying something like, "hey, if you can't be nice to us, then you guys can't go anywhere." I thought that was ridiculous to try to keep us at home as punishment, because we were married and we could do whatever we wanted. I think the catch, though, was that we lived there with them.

Marilyn kept nagging us (mainly me) about drinking, and about my driving abilities in general. She was saying that it was too far of a drive to make, and I was thinking that she was nuts because I used to drive twice that far to come up to see Em before we got married. Eventually I think that Em and I got tired of it, and we were getting ready to go anyway. I had to go take a shower, so I went into the bathroom. The door to the bathroom was a bit like an old saloon door. It was only as big as from my nose to my knees, and it may have even had slats in it like shudders.

I was getting the shower ready, and Marilyn came over there and kept talking to me like a little kid that had done something wrong. Rather than really saying anything to her, I decided to just kept getting ready. When I had the shower running, she decided to reach in and over the door, and she started writing something on the white dry-erase board that was above the sink/toilet. She was basically putting something religious up there to try to convince me not to go. She figured that since she couldn't coerce me by her words not to go, she would "scare me with religion" instead. I don't remember what she wrote, but it was a small paragraph that was supposed to be a quote from the bible, but it somehow involved something about a chicken.

When she was done writing it, I took the marker, and there was a small picture (about the size of my fist) of a chicken on the wall by the door (on that little area between the door and the linen closet/cabinet area), and it was down about as far as my knees. I stooped down, and I drew a little speech bubble next to it, and wrote "Bawk!" inside of it. I was trying to be funny and make a joke to make Marilyn feel better, but avoid her whole premise of trying to keep us at home, and she laughed and left, acting like everything was now okay.

Draco Is The Half Blood Prince

[Here's another one that I never wrote down in full when I had it, and now I can't remember enough of it to do so]

-Em (wife) and I decorating our apartment for Christmas with lots of different colors.
-we started putting everything in place, and we found a toad, and a couple of other animals running around.
-the bed frame was very decorative, but someone had just painted it. it dripped on the carpet, but em was sad because the side on her side needed to be against the wall because it wasn't painted.
-Draco Malfoy showed up, and went into our storage/dining room, which was now full of our trunks and furniture, and he was moving everything around and breaking things. I was telling him to stop.
-He was laughing at me, as if I were Harry, and he was calling himself the Half Blood Prince (the recently found out title of the next Harry Potter book). It was because he considered himself prince over the Half Bloods.
-He had a big microphone in his front of his mouth, and I told him it looked like head gear for braces. (We were both laughing?)
-I turned to go, and they were bringing in a prisoner. It was the Italian Guy from Eurotrip. McGonogal had caught him with a Playboy, and he wasn't wearing any pants. They put him up on this big "throne" in the middle of the hallway where they questioned the criminals.
-Ginny and Lois from PASA (preschool Em worked at in Maryland) showed up, but they weren't really them. They were some sort of strange creatures that were supposed to look like them. They were also being considered criminals, but they were around elsewhere. Ginny was behind me, and Lois was in front of me, in an open room off to my right.
