Quake with John Ritter

I was in the back of a station wagon (like the Olds that mom used to have) and I was playing Quake on Matthew's (brother) gameboy. I thought that it was pretty cool, and I also noticed that the gameboy was black, and that there was some sort of cable coming out of the back that was plugged in to something, but I'm not sure what. Whatever it was, though, was making the game better.

After a little bit, I'm no longer in the car, but sitting in what sort of looks like Mom's and Pat's (step-father) living room. I'm on the sofa, and I'm still playing the game, although the far side of the room is not the living room. It's all open space, and it's kind of like a huge castle or something. I turn somewhat to my left (to where the far left corner of the room would be) and in the game I send out several grenades, although, I'm seeing them shoot out from the back of the gameboy and really go out into this open area of the castle that's in front of me. I probably sent out about 20 or so, and they all went through this iron gate that was keeping any of the monsters (which I had yet to see any) from coming to me. After a little bit, they all started exploding.

I sent out some more just to be sure, and I saw this boy peek out from around the brick wall and look over in my direction. He wasn't getting hurt by the grenades because they were part of the game, and he wasn't. He was real. Then after the grenades were done and the gate opened, I turned off to the far right corner of the room, and there was a doorway down in the bottom corner of the wall. This wall was really tall, probably around 50 to 75 feet tall.

I then shot a grappling hook or something with a rope attached to it over the wall, and I felt it hit a wall that was behind it. I knew that it had stuck in. Then all of a sudden, John Ritter was there, and he was angry with me because I had almost hit his son in the head with that grappling hook. He told me that I had to call him and tell him that I was sorry, so I picked up a cell phone and called and told the boy that I was sorry that I had almost hit him. He didn't say a whole lot, but he wasn't really worried about being hit, either. He knew the game I was playing, and evidently his dad didn't.

Then after John left (through that door in the bottom right corner of the far wall), I followed after him, and I found his son. I found out that he had a gameboy, too, and that he also had Quake, and so I offered to play with him. So we got set up to get ready to play it, and then we got sidetracked somehow.

We were in his house (sort of) and it turned out that it was storming outside, and that the house was actually part of a boat or something, and that it started rocking back and forth pretty quickly on the choppy water. The boy's mom came through, and I made some comment to her about it (maybe like some sort of joke or something) and I remember him smiling and taking whatever I said lightly, and none of us were really worried about the house rocking so much.

Then the son and I started up the gameboys and started playing. His gameboy was the typical white one, and then I still had Matthew's black one that was somewhat bigger and had more buttons and stuff. So, instead of us playing it together, he ended up watching me play it on mine.

It turned out at this point that Quake now had Mario in it, and that you had to get to a certain point with him to be able to do the Quake stuff. I did all sorts of stuff, making Mario jump here and there and going into all these pipes and stuff, just like it was a regular Mario Brothers game. I think that I took some sort of wrong turn near the end of the level, and I had to go through all this extra crap to get to the end so that I could do the Quake thing, although, I think the dream ended before I got to the end and actually got to play Quake.
