Family of Imposters

I was trying to get on the ferry to get to Victoria, Canada. I know that at one point I was on what I thought was the ferry, and I had to put a dollar of change into a slot (like a video game or a parking meter) that was beside my seat up by my window. So I put 50 cents into it, and that was enough. I think that there was a lady there I had to ask for help because I wanted to be sure I did the right thing, so that's what I did.

After I put the money in, I was either standing or sitting there by where I had put the money in, and there were a couple of people there that were supposed to be my parents (but they didn't look familiar to me). It turned out that we weren't on the ferry after all, but we were on the bus that goes to the ferry.

I remember driving around and going around some turns and it was a lot like being right up on the UVIC campus or close to it. Finally we reached the ferry terminal and we got out and went up to one of the sliding doors that were a lot like a grocery store's doors. (now that I think about it, this dream was full of a lot of grey, blue and white while the previous dream was full of a lot of bright and vivid colors and an almost yellow light coming from the sun)

Anyway, so we went through one of these sets of doors and out to this thing that was supposed to be the ferry. It looked more like a very short tractor trailer, and there were many of them there. They didn't hold very many people each, so me and my "family" were supposed to get on one. I think they got on one but I was still outside and I saw the thing pull down a ramp and drive right into the water-- and it floated! (Like one of these military amphibious vehicles) I thought that was pretty neat, so went on ahead and got on the one that my "family" was on and sat down behind the passengers seat. They said that I had to pay a dollar for it, so I reached into my pocket and pulled out a small handful of change. I was looking in there, and I realized that all I had was American money. I looked a bit more to see if maybe I had a Canadian dollar, but I didn't. So then I was asking about how much American was a dollar of Canadian, but I think I just ended up giving my "mom" some quarters for her to figure it out to pay for it.
