Broken Glass And A Dog In The Fire Place

The first, I was going to a friend's or girlfriend's house after work (I worked at the grocery store again) and when I got there, I went in the front door and down the cream colored hallway about 15 feet. It ended there, but in front of me was a flight of carpeted stairs, to my left was the dining room and kitchen (dining room first, and then around to the right corner was the kitchen) Her parents were sitting in there. Off to my right was the living room and "den".

I went in to talk to the parents briefly, and then the girl (who reminded me a lot of Claire Danes, I think) was out by the steps and she dropped a glass. It broke and I had to get from the dining room to the living room carefully without stepping on the glass. I only had on socks. She said she was going go clean it up. So I went over into the living room while she was cleaning it up. As soon as I got in the door, there was another door off on the wall to my left. The den was in there. I went over there and looked in and then I turned around and stood there at that door for a moment.

I then saw there dog (a little white and hairy thing) go over to my left (to the wall across from the door that came in from the hallway) and get behind some little cage or something. I heard it whimpering and I went over and looked closer and it was walking and sniffing around in a pile of hot coals. I told it to get out of there, and at first it did, but then after wandering around for a moment it went in again, almost like it didn't bother it. Then I told it to get out again and I went over to the girl who was still cleaning up the little bits of glass and told her and then I carefully went in and told her parents. They were almost panic stricken and the dad asked me why I hadn't done anything about it.

So then we rushed back over (and for some reason, by this point I no longer had on any pants. Just a shirt and socks and underwear) and the dog had gone across the room to the fireplace (which, as we walked in was off to our left, between the two doors. They told it to get out of there and I'm not sure if it did or not, but I went over into the den again and looked at the backside of the wall with the fireplace, and there was a really hot fireplace there. I was really worried about the dog getting hurt.

I went back over and it was just kind of wandering around in the middle of the floor in front of the fireplace and right in front of my feet. Then I went back over and the girl had said that she was done cleaning up the glass, but I could still see all sorts of little specks in the carpet. I was thinking that she should use the vacuum, but I'm not sure if I said anything to her or her parents or not.
