I was at Mike's (former step-father) house (although I think it belonged to mom and Pat) and there was something going on about me needing transportation of some sort. I don't know if I really needed it right then or what, but I know that they (mom and Pat) mentioned at one point that they were getting rid of their old Corolla (the tan one they used to have) At first Mike said he would buy it, but I stepped in and said that I wanted it since my car wasn't working so great. Mike was pissed at me about this and said that he was going to be the one to get it. I basically told him that "no he wasn't" and insisted that because I was part of the family, I'd get the first shot at it. Mom and Pat said something about that it wasn't as good as it used to be because of the spot on it where someone (or something) had peed on it.
I then went outside (which actually ended up being outside of mom's and Pat's current house instead of outside of Mike's house) and went out to the close end of the chicken house. The car was sitting there in tall grass that hadn't been mowed around it in a while, and I looked on the door on the passenger's side, and sure enough, there was a spot there where it was rusting out, and a trail was leading down from it, right where the pee had hit it. I said that I didn't care about that, and that it was still better than my car.
I think Mike ended up leaving, and so I was just kind of dawdling around, and I think Eric (brother) told me that I could use his dirt bike/motorcycle to get to school. It may not have been his, but I'm not really sure. I ended up getting on it, and the tires were a little low, but I took it for a little spin anyway. As I was heading out and around, trying this thing out, I started finding little features about it that made it seem really cool to me. It ran pretty well, and so I went over to Pleasant Valley Church and was riding it in the parking lot. Before I got over there, I think I had found the "roof" to it that folded out from the back like it would on a convertible.
While I was there, I was asking around to see if anyone had an air compressor to pump up the tires with, but I don't think anyone did. Someone there who looked a lot like Tim (a guy from church, married to Nancy) with a mustache was talking with me about it for a bit, and he helped me find another feature on it. This one was that there was a seat in the back of the drivers seat. Also, it turned out that the seat I sat on folded away or something.
So I had that out, and I decided then to put up convertible the top because it seemed like it was going to rain, but when I did, I found out that there wasn't any windshield in the thing. At first I was kind of disappointed, but it didn't really worry me. I hooked the two arms onto the front just in front of the handlebars, and that kept the top in place.
After I did so, Jeremiah (son of a neighbor's boyfriend) showed up and he climbed into the back seat. As it turned out, it looked really comfortable, and it was closer to the ground than the driver's seat, and it kind of reclined back and let the person sitting there relax. I thought that was really cool, and I decided that I was going to go over to Deno's to put some air in the tires so it would go better. As I started to go there, I realized that the tires were already somewhat better, and so I decided that I didn't' need to go to Deno's. So I drove this thing home with the top up and with Jeremiah in the back seat.
When I got there (which was outside of Mike's house again) Eric (brother) or someone was out there, and they helped me with getting the lights set up on it. It turned out that it had a headlight and interior lights and stuff like that, and so they set up the wiring, and after that was done, all that had to be done was to set the merging point of all these wires up in the roof (where the dome light should be) and place this little 1 inch square box over it that had little openings for the wires. It seems that I was going to do it, but I don't think I did, but the lights ended up working anyway.
I then realized that I had to go to school, and so I started to go but I decided not to go that day just so I could stay and work the kinks out of this so that I could possibly think about getting this to use instead of the Corolla. I wasn't sure about what I wanted to do. I knew that whichever one I got, Mike would get the other, and I wanted both of them (as did he).
