Evil Comes Knocking

I was with Emily (wife) and one or two other people, and we were in a car that had just pulled up to the outside of this little tavern or motel. We got out and looked around. As I looked around, I saw that the area was pretty heavily wooded, and we were up on a mountain. It almost seemed to be on the Blue Ridge mountains heading over to Charlottesville in Virginia. Things were very green, and it seemed as though it had just rained recently, and not only was it still wet out, but it was also foggy. It was kind of cool out, almost as if it were early spring or late fall, except the trees were in the perfect condition for mid summer. Maybe it was just a very cool summer day.

The road was in front of me (behind the car) and I had gotten out of the back seat on the driver's side of the car. I'm not sure who's car it was, but it wasn't one of ours. I'm guessing it belonged to one of the other people. Anyway, as I was looking out across the road, I noticed that to my left, the road went downhill, and to my right it went uphill. Across the road there was a steep rise in terrain, and there was a large mansion up on the side of that hill. One of the other two people (not Em) were talking about the history of the area. They were talking about how that mansion was named "Old Trinity" or something similar.

Anyway, there was a second building there, too, either like a guest house or a garage or something. The person doing the talking was saying how this mansion was the beginning of the town there. The mansion was originally the one named "Trinity", but once the second building was added, it officially became a town, and they now called it "Old Trinity". The town adopted the name of something like "Trinity Crossing" or "Trinity Creek", but the second part of the name actually began with an M, so it was "Trinity Mossing", or maybe "Trinity Meek" or something really strange like that.

After looking at the mansion from a distance for a bit, the four of us went in through the motel/tavern place that we had pulled up to, and we went into the back where there was a barn. I forget what we were looking at in the barn at first, but the barn itself was huge. To my right there was a lot of old machinery and a lot of the high storage. In front of me was this area where there was this large 10 foot wheel turned on it's side, and it was up about 8 feet in the air. It had cogs on it that hung downward, and these were supposed to be to tie horses to so that they could go around in a circle and make the big machinery of the place work. I think that either I was imagining it working, or I pushed it and saw it in action, but either way, I followed the large shaft that came up out of the top of the wheel where it connected to 45 degree angle gear (almost looked like a big drill bit) and that was connected to another, so that together they made a 90 degree turn and ran a bit along the ceiling. That connected with another bigger gear, and that came down at a 45 degree angle, and that connected with yet another bigger gear that was actually connected to some machine. The very first shaft came out of the top of the original wheel was about 6 inches across. The final shaft that was connected to the main machine was over 18 inches across. It was huge!

Anyway, we continued on after the machinery stopped, and I came across this large piece of a broken aluminum cylinder that was laying kind of squished on the floor. I assumed it was from one of the shafts, or maybe from the smoke stack that went up out of the top of the barn. The aluminum was reddish in color. It wasn't painted, but it was actually a faded red, kind of like the colored aluminum that you see rock climbing hooks/latches made out of. I wondered what had happened to it to cause it to be laying here in the middle of the floor under all the machinery that was high above. The lower edge of it was all serrated as if it has just blown off or been ripped off the rest of the stack. That was to the right. The upper edge of it was where the stack had been professionally finished and folded in and riveted into place.

We eventually left there, continued out the back, and finally found the houses that were associated with the motel/tavern for the guests to stay in. As we walked through the yard, off to our right was a cemetery. The headstones were all white with moss growing on them, and at one point an old black car drove down through there. We went into our room through the closest door, which was actually the back door. It was extremely bare inside, as if no one was meant to live in there at all. Things seemed a bit dank and dark, and there was nothing around. Not even carpeting. I didn't think about this at all, though, because hardly any sooner than we had gotten inside, Em had turned around and looked out the door that we had just come in. She yelped something, and I turned to see what was going on.

At about this time, I got a memory that came up, and I saw a young hick type of character coming up to the side door of the house we were in, only it was supposed to be of an earlier time before we had ever visited there. I saw him come and knock, and as he did, there was a fire behind him in the yard. I somehow knew that this was his way of getting people out of the house, and that he was actually Evil in disguise. I knew that he would come again and try to get us out, but we had to resist. I was brought back out of this by Em.

I turned and looked at the stuff she was seeing, and she was yelling something about the house of the neighbor behind us. She was saying that their back door was on fire, and that was a sign of either Evil or the KKK (which isn't very different, ha!) Then we year a knocking on the front door. We turn around and go to the front door, passing a kitchen and a bedroom on our left. We answer it, and it's the hick guy there in overall and looking all shy and sheepish. (he looked like a younger/smaller version of the pirate with a wooden eye in Pirates of the Caribbean) He said something, but I don't remember what.

I saw the fire outside of the house, just past the porch. I panicked and grabbed Em. I knew that we weren't supposed to let him in, but I didn't think there was anything wrong with us getting out. We ran off the porch and jumped across the fire. The fire was only about a foot wide all the way around the house, and only about two feet tall, so it wasn't anything big to jump over. As we do, we tell him that he cannot go into the house. He says something about how we already let him in because "evil cannot go where it's not invited."

He transformed quickly into an older and bigger guy with long black hair and wearing a black robe or black shirt and pants. He dove off to the right side of the porch, landing on his arms and chest area, almost as if he slipped and fell, but he was able to keep himself propelled, and kicked his legs up into the air behind him. He got to the end of the porch and did a quick maneuver that caused him to loop around the edge of the porch and dive underneath it, heading up under the house in one quick movement. Seeing this happen scared me and woke me up.

Mall and Faire Shopping With Em's Parents

Emily (wife), Matthew (brother), and I were walking around in this really big mall. I think that originally it was supposed to be in New York or something. It was full of all these expensive "fashionable" clothing stores and not much else, but it was still fun to look around and see all the tools shopping because they thought they NEEDED these stupid "fashions".

We got down to one of the ends of the hallways, and there was a set of doors there that led to the outside. I could see the parking lot out there. To my right, just inside these doors, was a big store that was labeled as "New York, Paris, and [some city I can't remember]" At this point I realized that we were actually in Paris. I made some comment to Em and Matthew about "Hey, they really DO have these stores in New York and Paris!" Neither of them seemed very impressed.

I'm not sure what happened next, but eventually I found that I was walking alone. Em had gone off to look at something that I didn't feel like looking at. I was feeling a bit miffed about that for some reason, and I knew she was, too. As I walked around, I ran into Em's parents. I found her mom first, but I can't remember what she was doing exactly. I think she was messing around with some display that was up, getting a bit more involved with it than I thought she should. I left her mom and went and found her dad.

Her dad was sitting down at the end of this main intersection area, and he was watching the kiddie train go round and round. The walls here were very tan in color, and there seemed to be all sorts of stairs and levels around here. The kiddie train area was even down about 6 feet or so below normal walking level.

He was down there just sitting on a bench. I think I wound up telling him that we would be ready to go soon. He got up off the bench and looked around, adjusting the waistline of his pants, and then we went up and found Em's mom again. Em's dad got her to stop what she was doing and come with us. I think it also took us a little while to find Em since she had gone off shopping. She was still a bit miffed at me, and she didn't seem to want to talk to me. We all went out and got into their Pacifica. The parking lot was actually a dirt and grass field surrounded by a row of trees. We got out of the lot and drove down a dirt road a ways.

Eventually we wound up at this place that was a lot like a Renaissance Festival. It was really interesting, and we looked around a bit. We finally made it into this one shop that had a ton of different stuff in it, but not much of it was renaissance related. It was just kind of like a general store, but it sold some really strange stuff. I spent way too long looking around in there, and that in itself was getting Em all antsy at me.

Then I started picking out a bunch of stuff to buy. That just peeved her off. At one point I made one purchase. I went up to the counter, which was at the far right of the store, and handed over my stuff. There was a woman who was also at the counter that had several kids running around and she was buying them a bunch of candy. After she was done, I did my purchasing. I don't remember what I bought the first time around, but I had a good bag of stuff. After that, I decided to look around a bit more. This was just too much for Em, and she left with her parents to go wait outside.

I went out with them at first to try to get Em to stay in there with me, but she wouldn't. She thought it was stupid that I was still shopping in there. So I went back in and looked around some more. I realized that something that may be making her mad is that I hadn't bought anything that was strictly for her. So I looked around for something specifically for her, and I found a green suede wallet. I, for some reason, though this would be perfect.

I got out my blue ballpoint pen and wrote something on the wallet front. It was something along the lines of "For my dear, sweet, and loving Emily". I took it up, with a few more nik-naks and made another purchase. When I did, I saw that my first purchase was wrong. The receipt listed about five or six items of candy that I hadn't bought. I showed that to the lady at the register, and I told her that those were items put on my receipt by accident because the lady in front of me with all the kids had the candy, not me. She took those things off my receipt and refunded my money. I then purchased the rest of my stuff.

On my way out, I saw a computer monitor that caught my eye. This was some sort of super nifty monitor that had some strange built-in stuff to it. I think it had a built in "terminal", as in Rxvt or Xterm that normally runs under Linux. Also, the design around the outside perimeter of the monitor was really neat. It was $799, and, for some odd reason, I thought that was a great deal. I went up to the register to buy it, and I found out that it was actually a monitor that I had ordered, and they were holding it there for me. I thought, "How odd... but great!" I purchased it, and just as I was ready to leave, I saw that there was a gallon of milk on the receipt that I had not actually bought. I went back and got that straightened out. I felt bad because I thought they were thinking that I was just trying to get away with all this free stuff (candy and milk), but I showed them that I didn't have any of it, so they had no choice but to take it off.

I left and found Em sitting with her parents on a bench under some sort of gazebo type of structure. We left and came home. Em asked me on the way home, "So, what was it about this monitor that we should have been looking for in the first place?" In other words, if I really liked this one, why did we get my previous one. I just told her that I didn't know because I knew that she wouldn't understand the details of it. As I looked at it all wrapped up in bubble wrap, I realized that this was a 15 inch monitor! I was pretty upset because now that "great price" no longer seemed very good, but I was stuck with it.

I brought it home to the Villas apartment and plugged it in and started up Windows. The monitor did some cool stuff, but everything was really small and cramped on the screen. Then when I tried to shut down and restart my computer, it just kept going immediately into Windows. It wouldn't let me get into Linux. I was pretty miffed now that this "great deal with awesome features" was turning out much worse than I already had, and I had spent so much money on it.

After this, we all went to bed. The bed was in Matthew's old room at Grandmamma Miller's house. Em's parents were actually the ones sleeping in the bed, and Em and I were sleeping at the foot of the bed on the floor. I woke up first, and I wound up getting all the stuff I had bought together. I found the green suede wallet with my writing on it, and I got it ready to present to Em. She woke up, and we talked briefly about how I was sorry that I went on that shopping spree. She was still a bit upset at me, but she forgave me for being such a stinker about it all. I pulled out the green wallet and showed it to her. She looked at it distastefully, thinking I had gotten it for me. I flipped it over and showed her the handwriting. She realized it was for her, and before I could see her reaction to it, the dream ended.

Beach Dugouts

I was at a beach, and I was with Eric, Matthew, (brothers) Em, and her parents. Mom may have also been there, but I don't remember for sure. I was sitting on the beach watching the waves, and most of the rest of the family was off to my right. As I was watching, I could see the little bubbles coming up out of the sand where the sand crabs were. I looked closer around me, and I could see where there were some that were pretty close also.

I'm not sure what caused it, but eventually I was sitting in this area that was dug down into the sand that was about two feet deep. It was kind of like my own little sand bunker. I think, actually, at first, I was not in it, but Matthew was. Matthew was pretty young ( eight or nine years old?) and he was acting all depressed or whiny about something, but he wouldn't tell anyone what it was that was bothering him.

Eventually we traded places, and he was back behind the dug out, and I was in it. I was looking around, and I realized that there was a little storage area that ran all the way around this thing on the inside. The sand above it was only about six inches deep up to the surface, but it seemed to support the weight of anyone that walked or sat close by. Just to my right, there was even a little area that was refrigerated. There was a two-liter soda and a gallon of milk in there, and it was poorly hidden behind this raggedy dark red or black cloth that acted as the "refrigerator door". After looking around at this for a bit, the dream ended.

Ping Pong Hijinks and Butters on a Bike

I was at work, and it was break time (I think it was supposed to be second break, around 4:45 to 5:00) and I was heading down to the main break room where the ping pong table is. As I passed the front office area, I saw Brian (a guy I used to go to school with that was into tack launchers) there. He was working for some third party company that was hired to come in there and do something.

As I walked by him, I said, "Hey, Brian!" not really thinking that he'd recognize me because of my weight gain. He saw me, and he got this quizzical look on his face and said, "Hey, Jeremy!" I just kept going nonchalantly, almost as if I saw him every day. I don't think that I wanted him to know that it was such a big deal that we recognized each other, for whatever reason. I think the main reason was because I wanted to get to the break room and play ping pong, and we didn't have much time to.

I finally got into the break room, and Phillip (from Mercedes) and I played a bit of ping pong. After a bit, though, Brian and the other guys he was working with was came in and had to dismantle the table to take it out. Phillip and I were bummed about that, and we thought, "Oh well, no more ping pong for a while." After they had gotten the table out of there, I realized that we could still play a little bit. There was a tape measure that we left behind (the coated cloth kind, like a tailor or seamstress uses) that we decided to stretch out on the floor. We both sat or lay down on either side of it, and we tried playing like that.

It turned out, though, that something had happened and the ball that we were using was suddenly broken. It was all dented in on one side, and cracked along the other. So we took our paddles and got up and went back into the Key and Lock site. Right as I got into the work area, I saw that Don (fat guy from work) was moving around the lock setting stations. He was scooting them around different ways, trying to make more room for him over at his station because he thought that it was too much up against the wall. Doing this wound up pushing mine so far against the opposite wall that I couldn't even sit down. I tried moving things around myself.

Cynthia's (Don's friend at work) desk was against mine, so I switched them both around so that instead of the desks being back to back, Cynthia and I sat back to back. I realized, though, that we were still too close, and we'd wind up bumping into each other all the time, and I knew that would piss her off. Then Don got another bright idea. He took his desk and slid it up against the wall where the windows are. He then took the next desk that faced his and did the same thing. He stopped to ask what we thought of that. Cynthia was okay with it, but I wound up realizing that the sun coming in through there would be really hot on sunny days. I mentioned this, and all I got in return was kind of a blank stare. (which is funny because in real life, Don is all about staying cold. He sets the Infrared room to 55 degrees if I'm not in there)

Shortly after this, I wound up leaving. I was on a bicycle, and I was riding along a fairly busy road. The sides of the road were switched for driving, so it was like being in England. The two sides passed each other on the left instead of on the right. Anyway, at first I was on a dirt road area off to the left side of the road. Then, for some reason, I decided that I needed to get to the far right hand side of the road. I pulled across, and realized that it was probably a bad idea to do this through the traffic (even though there really wasn't anyone coming)

Just as I was getting over to the other side, I saw a motorcycle cop there parked along the side of the road. I pulled up in front of him, almost as if I were coming to talk to him. I think I was even considering asking him about something, but he wound up pulling away and leaving before I could, almost as if he never even saw me park in front of him. At this point, I was a mixture of myself and Butters from South Park. I had lost my teddy bear, and I needed to go find it.

I continued on around to the right and got onto a dirt road over there. I was peddling along pretty fast, although I was feeling very out of shape, especially when I hit the various hills and whatnot. I peddled up this hill heading away from the road. The ground leveled out, and the road made a sharp turn to the right. I went around it pretty fast, and I was surprised that I didn't wipe out doing it. I then peddled down a hill and up another. I eventually wound up in this underground cavern area.

The floor was completely covered in water, and I was no longer on the bike. The water was about knee deep, and I was sneaking around looking for my teddy bear. At one point I was huddled into this little side cavern area while I was watching the main cavern. This giant teddy bear monster came tumbling along looking for me. It just looked kind of big and scraggly and mean, and it's eyes were a bit cartoonish looking. I'm not sure if did something to try to get its attention, or if it just happened to see me, or if it just got pissed that it couldn't find me, but I saw it turn its head in my direction, and it's eyes went from being mean looking to being damn scary.

They got bigger, filling in the area up to it's eyebrows, and they went completely white. I think there was a moment that it looked away, so I quickly ran and went to the right. Just to the right was a door to the outside, (which was where the only light coming into the area was coming from anyway) and I made a run for it to get out. As soon as I was outside, I found my bear. I quickly grabbed it, got back on the bike, and high tailed it out of there. I was relieved to have my bear back, and now I could go back home. I think there was some sense of my parents (Butter's parents) telling me that it was useless to go after my bear, but I think I was planning on getting home and telling them that I did it and showing them my bear.

Images of Exorcist the Beginning

Towards the beginning of the dream, Em and I were at a movie theater. (this theater had a feeling of one that I had been in before, something about sitting around an arena area near the top of the theater, but the seating was round) We had come into the theater from the top instead of at the bottom. We sat near the back, and, I think, the movie was even showing on the back wall instead of on the main front wall where the screen normally is. The room we were in was an otherwise normal theater room.

Anyway, I guess I didn't know what we were there to watch, or I had forgotten, but it turned out that we were there to see some sort of preview pictures of Exorcist: The Beginning. I saw the first picture or two, which were mainly the front cover of the DVD (the reddish face all blurred and screaming, but looking a little demon like). At this time was when I really realized what was coming: a slide show of some of the scariest images from the movie. I didn't want to see any of this, so I hunched down in my seat next to Em and closed and covered my eyes. Only a few seconds later, though, I became horrified. I realized that I was still able to see the images. I realized that it was because Em was watching them and "transferring" or "transmitting" them to me without meaning to. I think I tried to leave shortly after this.

Eugoogly

The dream started out with being at Em's (wife) and my new house. There was some sort of odd feeling about it. I don't think it was in the area where it's actually supposed to be north of Fort Worth. I think it was actually in Virginia.

Anyway, I was in the living room in the late afternoon with Em, and things looked a bit dusty or dirty, but the sun was shining in brightly, actually illuminating the dust floating around in the air. Now that I think about it, I think it was supposed to be somewhat like Grandmamma's house combined with Em's parents' house. The room that we were in reminded me a bit of the "formal dining room" of their house, but still not quite. It was bigger than that, and there was something open at the end of the room heading off to the right.

Anyway, it was our house, and we were commenting to one another about how happy we were to be there in it. We were in the process of unpacking (hence the dirt and dust ???), although things actually seemed fairly unpacked. After a bit, we heard about someone that died that we needed to go to their funeral for. I'm unsure if it was a family member or someone famous, like perhaps the Pope (who just died last week or so) I don't really remember the funeral, but I remember being with a group of people, and we were all running down the main aisle of the church in the direction of the parking lot. We were jumping, hooting, hollering, and laughing. We were trying to turn the funeral into a celebration, even though we knew that all the other people there wouldn't understand it. Actually, now that I think of it, it didn't look like anyone else was there. I didn't see anyone as we were running out, but I think they were supposed to be there anyway.

Anywho, we ran out to the cars, and it was obvious that we were some of the first to leave. There was me, Em, an older guy (the dad from Donnie Darko?) and a couple of other people like Eric, Matthew, Mom, and others. Just as we got to our cars (there were 2), I quoted Ben Stiller from Zoolander, and I said really loudly, "Or did you not know that I knew what a Eugooogly was?" Everyone laughed harder, and I really surprised myself because of how much my voice sounded like Ben Stiller. I was really amazed, and found it almost disturbing that I had done such a good job of it.

We wound up getting into the cars and driving away. We were parked in the middle of the lot, facing the left of the church. The church reminded me of something a bit like Pleasant Valley, but it wasn't in that location at all. Our cars were facing a bunch of trees at the edge of the lot. We pulled out of the parking spaces and turned left towards the main road. As we were traveling along the far edge of the parking lot, it turned into it's own little single lane road. Someone was driving towards the church on that road, and looking at us all meanly like we were doing something wrong. I thought at first that maybe we were going the wrong way on the road, but then I saw a sign with an arrow (or maybe the arrow was painted on the road) that was pointing in the direction that we were going, and I knew that we were the ones that were right. I did realize, though, that I had to turn right into a fast food place parking lot (Sonic?) because the road did not continue out to the main road.

As I turned and went into that parking lot and went to go around the building, I could see the people in the restaurant looking at me, again, as if I had done something wrong. The one that sticks out in my mind is this early-40's woman with large blond hair. I can almost see her looking all disdained at me, but I don't know why. I think that I thought in the dream that she didn't have any idea what was really going on and decided to judge me on a wrong opinion. Therefore, I didn't care.

Mall Blastoff

I was in this big place that was a bit like a mall. I'm not sure what mall it was supposed to be like, because it wasn't really like any particular mall that I've been in. Actually, it was more like it was kind of like EVERY mall I've been in. It was just very generic. It seemed fairly upscale, unlike the Marley Station Mall.

I went into this one store that was a bit like a cross between a clothing store and a Discovery Channel store, and there was a stern black woman there. She had her hair in lots of little braids, and it was pulled back at the sides and hung loose in the back. She had glasses (I think) and was wearing kind of a tan or cream colored business suit. She stood at the middle of the front of the store by a set of display tables that were to her right (I saw them on the left as she was facing me). She was fairly stern, and I think she seemed a bit peeved with me that I wasn't buying something in the appropriate manner. Maybe it wasn't me that she was peeved at, but someone else that was nosing around with the merchandise but not buying it.

Anyway, some time later, I found that the mall was actually some sort of space station or space ship that was going to be blasting off soon. All the merchants were instructed to leave, and they did with the exception of the black woman. She refused to leave, at first it seemed because she was just stubborn, but it turned out that there was actually a good reason for it, although I don't think I ever found out what it was. Either she was in charge of something, or she knew about the space ship thing all along, or something like that.

They eventually shut down the entire mall and has us moving towards the main bridge area for the remainder of the flight. I was walking through the mall and checking things out, and making sure that everyone's lights were off. There were some lights around in different places that weren't part of the stores that were on, just enough to give light to the area where I was walking through. It was almost like walking down a city street at night time. There was one store that I passed that had the lights on still, and that was the one with the stern black lady in it. She was tidying up and getting ready to head up to the main bridge. I think I talked with her for a moment before she was done and we both left. We wound up in the restaurant area, and I think that she was helping out with part of the serving or cooking or something.

Jumped by a Tractor

Em (wife) and I were at our own house, which was basically Grandmamma Miller's house. The outside of the house was that one, but the inside was very different. Anyway, Em's parents were in visiting for a while, and it was creating a bit of stress. I kept getting upset with Em because she was letting her common sense get away from her. There were a few times earlier on in the dream where I was naked, but I was in one of our bedrooms. Em came in, but she left the door wide open, and her parents were outside of the door and they could see me. I snapped at Em to think about what she was doing and to please shut the door. I think that originally it had to do with her mom telling her to leave the door open, but I don't know of the reason. It wasn't that she wanted to see me in there, but she wanted to keep an eye on Em to make sure that she was okay.

Em took a little offense the first time I snapped at her, even though I didn't do it too badly. I did it in more of a "surprised" way, trying to make it more like "Whoops! Don't forget the door, hon!" I think there was a bit of trouble with keeping the door closed, so eventually I moved off to another room.

The new room I was in was a bit smaller, rather bare, and had a closet off to one side and a window on the far wall that was completely uncovered. Event though it was uncovered, I didn't care even though I was still naked. But Em came in again, and once again she left the door wide open with her parents hanging around right outside. I think I yelled at her to shut the door that time, and she got pretty upset about that, and may have even started crying. I tried to explain to her that when I'm in there changing (even though it seemed to be taking me forever to do so) I NEED her to shut the door when her parents are in town. Even though I tried to explain it better, she was still pretty upset about it.

Finally I was able to get dressed, and I went outside. I went out the front door, across the road, and up the corner of the embankment into the little parking area where Aunt Irene used to park her van when she came to visit. Just after I got over there, I heard Em and her family yelling, and I heard an engine roaring. Just as I turned back at the house to see what was going on, a tractor hit the embankment, and jumped right over me, missing the top of my head by only about a foot as I crouched down to miss it. The tractor was red, and had big front tires that were similar but smaller versions of the normal tractor type of back tire. It landed, turned sharply, and drove off down in the direction of Garber's farm just down the road. I think Em and her parents yelled something about how it almost hit me, and how I was lucky that I ducked when I did.

After convincing them that I was fine, I also turned and went down towards the Garber's farm. I think my original reason was to find out who was driving that tractor that almost hit me. I walked down the road, and eventually wound up in front of the Garber's house. Right across from the house was a large gravel/dirt area where there were lots of things going on. To the immediate right of the area was a big barn. In various places in the middle of it, there were sheds, ports, and whatnot where various farm vehicles were parked. There were also piles of tools, debris, and other things, and there were a number of workers all around doing different things. I walked over to this gravel area, and went in the direction of the big barn.

As I got back near the back part of the lot and the far side of the barn, I found Erwin (from Mercedes). He was working there on the farm, and so I went up to him to talk for a bit. There seemed to be something that he was all uptight about that related to his farm work, but I don't know what it was. I tried to talk to him about the tractor driver, and that just got him even more uptight.

He walked around a bit, and he was going along the back end of the lot. There were trees there, and even a fence of some sort that marked the edge of the gravel lot boundary. I walked along with him for a short bit, and I eventually came across a bicycle that I knew belonged to Evan (boy from school who lived down the road). Erwin didn't seem too keen on my picking it up and pulling it along with me, but he didn't stop me from doing so.

About 50 feet or so away from the barn, I saw a break in the fence, and saw a home made wooden ladder there. I looked at it, and saw that the ladder went down, not up, and went to the bottom of this 20 or so foot cliff which sat at the edge of the lot. I saw that this was where all the trees were growing from, too. There was a pathway below, and I decided that I needed to get down there for some reason. Somehow I managed to hang on to the bike, and I tried to go down the ladder. One odd thing about it, I didn't try to get to the other side of the ladder first. It was right up against the cliff, so I couldn't go down it the direction I was facing because I was on the top side of this cliff. But I got on this side of it anyway, and when I did, saw that the ladder wasn't put together well, and it didn't look like it would hold my weight.

I tried to pull myself up a rung, and the rungs that I was holding on to and standing on snapped under me, and I fell back. I caught myself so I didn't fall down, but I realized that I wasn't going to make it down the ladder. I think I decided to throw the bike down the cliff and onto the path. There was a pile of junk or something on the path about 50 feet out, and I guess I thought I could get the bike onto that. Just as I swung it around and chucked the bike over, Erwin saw me, and got very upset with me for throwing Evan's bike down there. For some reason, I really though that it needed be down there, otherwise I wouldn't have done it. I wasn't trying to be mean about it. I was just "putting it back".

[One thing to note is that this pathway below was like another dream that I had one time about going along a very similar pathway through the woods, and I wound up having to go through tunnels in the pathway in order to continue.]

Quarters from Blockbuster and Captive At Mike's

I started out in a car with Em. We went to Blockbuster Video on MacArthur by the Country Club here in Irving. (our normal one) I pulled all the way up into this alcove area, and it was kind of like a drive-thru rental place. I'm not sure if I was returning something, trying to get something, or maybe even doing a deposit or withdrawal as if I were at a bank, but the ATM looking thing in front of me wound up spitting out a quarter at me. I realized this was my change from getting two chocolate cupcakes from the vending machine at work. I wondered how Blockbuster knew that I needed the change, but I was a little worried because I knew that at this point, Em would know that I had gotten the cupcakes. Either she didn't notice or didn't say anything, but I got the quarter and put it in the change bin in the car.

I then backed out of the glass enclosure, turned around, and left. We drove over the rain gutter area and got onto the main road. I traveled for a little bit, and the next thing I knew I came up to an area that was outside in the country. It was a barren type of place, but it seemed kind of like it was almost in a barn, or outside of a barn. There were some bails of hay around, and a post with a chain connected to the top. There were some walls around, and this area varied from feeling like it was outside to feeling like it was inside.

There was someone tied up to the chain, sitting at the base of the post. As I got closer to the post, I saw that it was Teresa (from Mercedes). I'm not sure if I had her tied up there, or if someone else did. I talked with her for a bit, I think either trying to figure out a way to get her out of there, or trying talk her into staying there. I really can't remember which way I was trying to work this.

Eventually there was something about me being tied up to the chain, but I'm not sure if I was just thinking it, or if it actually happened for a short bit. Eventually this place, I realized, was Mike's (former step-father) house, and we were inside of the OLD living room. I guess I wound up being on the side of trying to get her untied and get her out of there. We finally did so, and we left.

House Collection

Em (wife) and I were at Mike's (former step-father) house. We had gone out into the back yard next to the chicken house, and we looked into the neighbor's yard. We saw that all the houses that we had looked at in some fashion or another were being transported here to this spot. The house at Trailwood (Vanguard), the house at Basswood (Seneca), a couple of the nicer mobile homes we've looked at, one of the Pulte homes along Trinity Blvd, and some others that I don't/can't remember.

They had turned the whole yard into a neighborhood of these homes. Some were being transported there, others were being built there from scratch. All of them were in various stages of completion. The roads around were all dirt, and there was, of course, a lot of construction stuff sitting around. Even though most of these houses were no where near completion, most of them seemed to have lights on inside.

It was late evening, and I think it was even winter time, sometime in late December around Christmas. We went and looked at them, almost as if we had to decide all over again which one to go with. There was some other stuff that happened after looking around and walking through the soon-to-be streets, but I don't remember what it was.

Boats and Cannons

The first thing I remember is that I was at this dock area, and there was someone there that was going to be instructing us on maneuvering boats. I think these were supposed to be some pretty small boats, but I'm not sure. I was in an area that was a lot like Smith Mountain Lake.

I was following the guy around and onto the docks. We went out to the end of one, turned right, went to the end of that one, and turned a small right again. There was a group of people there that we were going to be working with. Em (wife) was in the group, as were a couple of other people that I think I knew, including Phillip (from Mercedes), but I don't remember anyone else specifically. He was telling us that one of the first things about boating was that you had to have short nails. I realized I hadn't clipped mine in a while, so I got my clippers (I'm not sure from where) and started. I was clipping both my toes and my fingers as I sat at the edge of the pier.

On the last right that we had taken on the pier, I went back to that junction and went left, and sat on the edge of the pier. There was another pier that went out in front of me, a little to my left. There was a large yacht like boat tied to it, and some of the people from the class were sitting there waiting on me. Phillip was one of them. I clipped for a little while, and one of the clippings went over and landed on a piece of cloth that was next to Phillip. I think it was supposed to be like a sail or something.

Anyway, he reached over, picked it up, and flicked it into the water. I was very embarrassed because I didn't want him to see how much I was clipping off. Finally I finished up, and I got up, turned around, and went back to the right side of things.

When I did this, though, I was no longer outside, but I was inside of this large wooden room. I looked around a bit, and there was a short (about two feet long) and stubby (about 1 foot or more in diameter) cannon sitting in the middle of the far end of the room. There were stairs on either side of it, and so I went into one of the stairwells and went up. There were three or four levels above me, all wooden just like the first one, but each one was decorated a bit differently.

I eventually realized that Mom, Eric, and Matthew (brothers) were all living here. I think that for a short bit of walking through it, one of the rooms looked like my old room downstairs at Grandmamma's house. I looked through it a bit, but I knew that it wasn't really my old room. I knew it was still on the boat. (at which point it was that I realized that the rooms I was going through were wooden because they were all on an old boat, like a pirate ship or something) I think I made it all the way up to the top, and mom's room was up there. It looked a bit like my in-laws' room from Maryland.

I talked to Mom for a short bit, and then went back downstairs. When I got back to the first room, I looked around a bit. There was a skylight of some sort that was on the opposite side from the cannon, and the ceiling was very high, at least 12 feet tall. Except for that bit of light, everything was fairly dark, mainly because the wood of the room was so dark. Then, I'm not sure if I cause the first one or not, but the cannon aimed straight up, and fired directly into the ceiling. I thought for sure that mom was going to be pissed at me as I listened to it go through the floors above me, and then come crashing back down. As it did, it brought a lot of very large coins down with it. In kind a video game style sort of thing, they bounced down through the new hole in the ceiling, and then collected themselves inside the cannon, as if the cannon were collecting them. I thought, "Hey, cool!" and I set off the cannon again. It didn't really do anything the second time around, and I was a bit disappointed.

Mom poked her head down through the hole in the ceiling and was saying something about the whole incident, but I think she was voicing her surprise about finding the coins from a chest that had been demolished directly above the cannon rather than being upset about almost being shot herself.

Emily was suddenly there with me, and mom and Eric came downstairs to see what was going on. By the time they got down there, the room wasn't like it had been. It was now nearly fully furnished, and it was more like a bedroom than a cannon room on the ship. The stairs were in the middle of the wall between the closets (which were huge) and when they came down, Em was showing them all the clothes in or closets. There was some sort of armoir to my right against the wall that was full and open, the closet in front of me was open, and the one to the far left was open. The bed was to my left in the middle of the room, and clothes were (for the most part) grouped according to color. In front of me was mostly gray tee shirts and stuff, but there were a couple of red ones that had gotten mixed in. I think they were looking for green shirts for St. Patrick's Day, but were having trouble finding any.

Wilson Girl At Church

I was at Pleasant Valley Church again, and I wound up running into this girl that I used to know from Stewart Middle School. I don't remember who it was (although I looked her up in the yearbooks, I didn't find one that seemed to match) but she was one of the kids who wound up going off to Wilson High School instead of Fort Defiance after 8th grade. She was kind of tall (although most girls seemed kind of tall in middle school *ha!*) and she had dark curly hair. There was a girl named Amanda, and another one named Amy, both of which it could have been, but I don't think it was either one.

Anyway, the service was done for the day, and so I was showing her around the church. I think we went around behind the pulpit where the pastor and the choir get ready, and I think we went behind the stage in the fellowship hall. Eventually we wound up in the fellowship hall, and we were by the fireplace. The fireplace, though, was to the left of the stage rather than on the far right wall by where you enter.

It opened up to reveal a hidden passage. (Unfortunately I don't remember HOW it opened up). We went down through there and wound up in the far end of the basement. We came through the basement and came up the stairs, and we wound up going into the sanctuary. They had closed most of the doors and had turned off the lights. We went in through the far left door (if you're outside of the sanctuary) and went up past about 5 or 10 rows of pews. There were one or two of the ushers left in there, and they were just finishing turning out the lights so that it was completely dark in there. No light was even coming through the stained glass windows even though it was still early evening outside. We were asked to leave the sanctuary so they could finish locking it up, so we did, feeling a little embarrassed because we should have realized that we couldn't stay in there, but it just didn't seem to cross our minds.

We went around and looked at other "secret passages", but I don't remember where those were or what they were like. Finally we went outside from the area of the fellowship hall, and we were on one side of the sanctuary. There was a strange set of doors that opened up on the side of the sanctuary that didn't go into the sanctuary. Instead it seemed kind of like a storage area, but also like a porch of some sort, but at the same time it was like a grand entrance into a cathedral. It was all of these things and none of these things, and even though we should have wound up directly in the sanctuary by going through the wall segments that opened up, we didn't.

I was talking with the girl for a little bit, and then Ben (a guy with braces I knew from middle school that also went to Wilson) showed up. He was getting all gruff and pissy with the girl, telling her things like she shouldn't be going through the church like that, and that she was stupid to be hanging around with me, and things like that. It made her sad, but she didn't cry. I didn't even really react much, even though some of the stuff was directed at me. I did feel bad for her, though, that he was talking to her like that. I may have asked him to stop at one point, but I'm not sure.

Work's Out Due To Snow

I went outside, and there was quite a bit of snow on the ground. I knew from the amount of snow that was there, they were going to call off work. I was out in the area around the mailboxes in front of my building at the Villas in Irving. I'm not sure what else I was doing, but Roy and a few others from work were there. I think that once the announcement to call off work was made, then it pretty much stopped snowing, and started melting off.

I went down past Em's car, down the stairs, and to the sidewalk. Instead of turning and going towards our apartment, I turned and went off in the direction of the dumpster. I followed the sidewalk, and I wound up running into this guy that was in the very back corner of the complex. The sidewalk extended all the way out to there, and he was there off the right side of the side walk, and we were up on a little bit of a hill. He was drunk and being really rude, and maybe even a bit dangerous. Someone else was there with me (perhaps Em), and either we decided to act like cops, or we actually were cops for a short bit, but either way, we wound up doing something to get him to leave from this corner of the lot and to go back home.

There was something really odd about this particular spot. It was almost as if there were some sort of sphere around him and us, and I think this was the real reason why he was there. It had a bit of feeling of being physical, but at the same time, it wasn't fully any sort of physical structure. Either it was made of energy, or some sort of quantum force, or it was something closer to cobwebs. Anyway, after he finally left, we didn't see where we went, so we turned and came back towards our apartment. Just as we were leaving the area, we somehow figured out that the guy lived on the very top floor of the building there at the corner of the complex.

Finally I got back to the apartment, and I went inside. It was kind of dark inside, and there weren't any lights on. It was pretty overcast out, and it was getting late in the afternoon anyway. After I got inside, I saw that Matthew (brother) was visiting, and I saw that he was having trouble with playing the GameCube. I'm not 100% sure what the trouble was, but I think it had something to do with huge sheets of cobwebs.

I was in the area of my computer desk, and I looked in the direction of Em's desk. There, kind of sealing it off, was one large sheet of cobweb just hanging down in front of her desk. This may have been where the GameCube was sitting, and therefore the reason why Matthew couldn't play it. He didn't want to disturb them or clear them away, but he wanted to play. I didn't really want to touch them, either, and I'm not even sure that Em was here at all.

Boat Ride To Kings Dominion

I was on a large boat, kind of like a large-ish yacht. We were riding along through a large bay and the land was mostly off to my right. (Note: this is the same coastal city that I've dreamed about at least two other times: once where I blew up some building or went underwater trying to find or save something, and the other where it was all frozen over and people were doing some sort of tricks on the glaciers) We were traveling pretty quickly, and I could see the docks around us.

I knew that there was a sharp turn of some sort coming up soon, and just as I looked out of the boat, I saw that there were docks immediately in front of us. The boat operator did a quick maneuver, and we turned left quite easily. We didn't even get jostled around too bad. It was only about like making a quick turn in a car. We then make several other quick turns as we wound our way into our parking area. I was surprised to see how agile the boat was on top of the water, and how it seemed to handle so much like a car.

Finally we pulled up to our area, and we all got out. We were filtering through this large entry way into Kings Dominion. It was kind of like it was in a tent, and the walls and ceiling were all lit from the outside like canvas that was letting in a bit of light, but it wasn't very sunny out. As we were passing through this long tent (about 50 or 100 feet long?), we were passing all these games and quarter vending machines (like gumball machines in grocery stores). There were rows of them back to back.

We were making our way down an aisle in the middle of them, and the rows extended off in either direction (so they were perpendicular to the aisle) There were various workers in shorts, tee shirts, and aprons. The aprons held things like money for exchanges, and things like that, kind of like someone working at an arcade.

When I was about halfway through, I passed someone that looked familiar on my right. I looked again, and it was Brian (guy from school and church). I made an effort to turn as I was going by him, wave, nod, and say, "How's it goin', Brian?" He did a bit of a double take and looked at me. He smiled hesitantly, like he didn't really know who I was, but I looked familiar to him. He said something like, "Hey! Good. And you?"

And then it clicked. He recognized me. His face brightened a bit, but still had a concerned look to it. He said, "Hey, come over here, Jeremy, and let me get a better look at you." or something like that. I knew that he had noticed my huge weight gain since the last time I had seen him, and he was considering saying something about it. I didn't think that he would, and he didn't. Anyway, I didn't want to turn around and talk to him because that would mean messing up the flow of the line I was in, but I did anyway because I really didn't want to be rude to him.

I turned and went back, and got into the row he was in. He chit-chatted with me for a bit in and out of helping to lead people through the aisle. (I guess they were needed to help direct the people into the park) While I was talking to him, I saw another familiar face out of the people that were helping out. Brian called over Jamiee (blond girl from school, on cross country team), and she came up and talked to me briefly.

I could tell that she was having a little bit of trouble placing who I was, too, but I think it finally clicked. Then she had to leave and go to another area where she was needed. I ended my conversation with Brian, and I wished him well and told him that I'd see him later. I then continued on through the line, but the dream ended soon after this.

They're Coming

I was at Stephen's (friend from school) house, and we were just hanging out. I don't remember much of what we were doing, but I know that his dad was around there somewhere. (he passed away a few years ago in waking life) At some point, his mom told us that dinner was ready, so we went to his kitchen to eat.

The layout was a little different than his real kitchen. I think his kitchen was supposed to be more where his "formal" living room was supposed to be, and instead of eating at the table, we were eating by the window. I don't really remember what was cooked for us, but I think it may have been some sort of stew or something. I was really afraid of not liking it, but I think I made myself eat anyway. It wasn't as bad as I had feared, so that was good. We talked for a bit more while we ate. I think we were talking about things like physics and religion.

At some point during this conversation, I remember something about being outside while talking to Stephen inside. I'm not sure if I was talking to him through an open window (which the sill acted as our table) or if I was supposed to still be inside but just watching this from a third party point of view.

Anywho, as we talked, the scene around us seemed to change somewhat, and I eventually wound up in this big library. I was now at school, and I was in some sort of class that was discussing physics and religion. We were in a bit of time where we were supposed to be working amongst ourselves and working in groups. The group I was working with was mainly girls. I think there were two or three of them, one of which was Jenny (younger girl that rode my bus). The second girl may have been someone like Ashley (girl from school, daughter of Agriculture teacher at the middle school), although I'm not really sure who it was.

Ashley was doing something to try to pass a note to someone that was in the middle of the class. We were situated kind of strangely. Most of the people were at tables and desks in the middle of the library, but some of us were around that area on the floor, sitting at the beginnings of rows of shelves. Anyway, I think that Ashley threw the note that she had, and it bounced off of a desk or something and came back to her. We found it a bit funny, and the teacher, who was a young guy, kind of like the science teacher from Donnie Darko, came over to see what was going on. We were trying to hide what she had done, but it just seemed so funny that the note came flying back at her that we were having a hard time not giggling about it. The teacher told us that we needed to get our work done, and he left.

Then we had this "survey" that we were supposed to finish up. It was mostly typed up, but we had to add some stuff in by hand. After adding stuff, we knew that we had to go and type it up again, so I offered to go to the library(!) and do it. When I said "library", though, I was thinking of the one at Pleasant Valley Church. Jenny was saying that she would do it, and I told her that I could type really fast. She said that she could, too, but I finally was able to convince her that I could type faster.

While trying to convince her, I was making typing movements in the air, kind of like I was trying to taunt her. I was kind of giggling about it, but she finally gave in and let me go do it. So I left, and then I was "at work", which happened to be in the basement of Pleasant Valley Church. I guess I had missed the library all together.

I was talking to Cobbie (from Mercedes), and he was collecting for some Christian charity. We were in the area of the room at the corner of the basement, near the area where the "arts and crafts" room for bible school was. (also where the church ladies would get together and put together quilts) I told him that I really wanted to donate, but I was feeling around and I didn't seem to have my wallet. I told him that if I found it, I would donate to him, and he said okay. I had a feeling that he didn't believe me because I never took him up on things like this. I wanted to show him that I didn't always turn him down. So I went over across the room, which was in the area of the Youth Room. There didn't seem to be any walls up between where the rooms normally were.

Anyway, I went over to sit against the wall, when I felt something next to my right knee. It was my wallet. It turned out to be in "my other pants". So I reached down inside the loose fitting pants I was wearing, and I found the low and deep pocket of the pair of pants I was wearing under them. I fished around, and with a bit of trouble, I finally pulled out my wallet. I turned and looked at Cobbie and gave him a grin, letting him know that I had found my wallet. I sat down and started going through it. I had a lot of ones in there. Some were out flat, and others folded in half. I probably had $20-$25 in ones, it looked like. I decided to pull out 5 ones to give to Cobbie.

I was sitting in a metal fold-down chair, and Cynthia and Phillip (from Mercedes) were to my left. Cynthia was kind of in front of me, and Phillip was more in line with me, flat up against the wall. I was afraid of Cynthia would see me counting the money and demand that I give her some, so I was trying to be kind of discreet about it. As I was going through the money, I noticed that I also had quite a few fives in there. I was going through the money that was folded in half.

I started pulling out ones to give to Cobbie, and as I did, I noticed two strange things. I had a $3 bill and a $4 bill. They were both kind of yellowish-pink in color (kind of like the new color on the recent $20) and I pulled them out to take a look at them. I thought it was really strange that I had those. As I looked closer, I saw that they were actually gift certificates for some seafood restaurant, and they had a location (I think) and a signature both written in by a manager. I thought that Phillip would get a kick out of them, so I got his attention and handed them over to him. He took a look at them and grinned. At first he thought they were real, like I did, but then he saw the extra writing, too.

Then we all had to go outside. Some guy showed up, and he was going to have us searching for whale bones. So we got up and left with various types of equipment. They were mostly things like nets and buckets. I'm not sure what this guy was supposed to look like, but it seems that I did get a glance at him once or twice. He may have been kind of older, short, and stocky, with a horizontally striped shirt, and some sort of hat on that may have been white. I think it was kind of supposed to be "sailor garb". But I'm not very sure about this.

Anyway, we kept walking until we were out in the yard of Mike's (former step-father) house. We were up kind of close to the road, out at the far corner of the yard next to the field. (the corner where mom had her flower bed and the Christmas tree that we had planted that one year) We were looking around out there near the bank, and it was kind of like we were supposed to be able to look in the grass and ground almost as if it were water. We could swish or nets down into the ground and try to pull things up and look for things moving.

I think we only wound up finding one or two when we started hearing this loud rumbling off in the distance from the direction of Weyers Cave. The teacher gave a bit of a start, and he said something about, "Here come the..." He used a word to describe what was coming, but I don't remember what it was. No one really knew what he was talking about, and he was telling us that they were like the whales, but much much worse. He was telling us that they wouldn't hesitate for a moment to kill us where we stand.

Then the rumbling got much louder, and from behind the hill in front of 256 came a group of motorcyclists. These were leather clad, Harley riding, hard core bikers. There were one or two per bike, and they were all heading in the direction of Grottoes. We all scattered. I went and ran inside Mike's house, which was supposed to be my house, too, at the time. Just as I was going inside, I saw some of them, out of the corner of my eye, turn and come up our road. I got inside and slammed shut the screen door. For whatever reason, I didn't shut or lock the main inner door.

Anyway, Em (wife) was inside on her computer, and she didn't have any idea about what was going on. I told her about it, but she didn't seem worried. I was pretty worried, though. She was in the old "living room" area, but this, somehow, was up on the second floor. The part of the house that I was going back and forth in was all on one level, but where I came in at the front door was level with the ground, while at the other side of the house (facing 256) was up on the second floor, and it even seemed high enough to be up on the third floor.

Anyway, I went back to the front door and peeked out. I saw a couple of them moving around the yard looking for people to kill, and I thought that they had seen me peeking out, but I jumped back around the corner of the door, and they never came over to me, so I guess they hadn't. I went back in and talked to Em about it some more. We looked out the windows, and there just seemed to be more and more of them going down the road. It was a never ending group of them, just like the teacher/sailor had warned us.

Finally we thought we were at the end of them, and I went to my old bedroom at the end of the house to look towards the hill in front of 256. When I looked, I saw that reality was unraveling, and we were sitting at the edge of the known universe. There were pink swirls of gas where the hill had been, and there was nothing beyond it. Just white[?!]. There seemed to be a brief moment where they seemed done.

I went back in to tell Em about it, and we saw the last few of them driving off towards Grottoes. A couple of them pulled off and went to the woods at the far end of the field where Tom's (owner of the local turkey farm) house was, and drew out swords. They seemed to be taunting something just inside the edge of the woods, and one of them started sword fighting. I saw and heard the clanging, but I'm not sure what he was fighting with. I think it was the owner of the house that was there (but it wasn't Tom).

Then we heard more of them coming again. Em and I got really scared, and we were peeking out from behind the curtains of the upstairs out towards 256. We were afraid that they'd see us peeking out, but we had to keep an eye out and see what was going on. I realized, soon after this, that this was probably it. We were going to die a horrible and violet death. I thought I could maybe try to fight them, but I realized that I just wanted it over as soon as possible. I wanted them to just decapitate me and get it over with quickly. I lamented about feeling this way for a bit, but I finally just waited for it to happen, because I knew it was coming, and there wasn't anything I could do to stop it. I didn't know what to do or say for Em, because I didn't thing she really understood that yet.

Odd Schoolbus Partings

I was on a school bus, and I was down at the bus stop near the Augusta and Rockingham County borders. We were in the process of trying to turn around and leave the area. I think the bus gave out or something, and we couldn't get it to go anywhere. We were sitting there for a while waiting to get the bus repaired so we could keep on going. The bus, as I remember it, didn't feel much like a school bus, but more like a charter bus. I think there was a bathroom in the back and everything.

I was talking to a few of the people, but I don't remember about what. Then after a short bit of time, some of us started getting off the bus. After just meandering around the outside for a little bit, someone came across some sort of little "personal transports" that could carry one or two people each. I think there were a lot of them, and so we each wound up getting on one. Some people were sharing with other people, and some were solo. I think that there was someone on mine with me, but I don't know who it was. These things were small and white, and almost resembled over sized tricycles. Pretty soon, though, we all realized that they didn't have wheels.

We were looking at them trying to figure out how to get them to go, and all of a sudden I jumped on mine with an idea. When I got on, I willed it to pick up and move, and it did. It hovered about a foot above the ground and took off. I was part of the way down the road towards Weyers Cave before anyone else caught on. Finally a few others did, and they were catching up to me. It kind of turned into a little race, and so I willed mine to go faster. I think I somehow realized that these things could only go about 45 MPH at the top speed, but I kept pressing it to go a little faster. I think I may have hit about 60 before I came up to the sign that said to slow down to 35. The thing is that it didn't feel like I was going that fast. I actually felt pretty slow, like I was doing about 20 or so, but when I hit the 35 MPH sign at the edge of the subdivision there at the edge of Weyers Cave, my transport suddenly lurched and slowed down, and I knew that I was supposed to be now going 35. I thought it was kind of cool that it could read the speed limit signs and act accordingly, but I wanted to go faster.

I wound up starting into the "downtown" area of Weyers Cave, and I pulled off to the side somewhere. The street was very narrow, like it was only about 15 feet wide or so. The person that was riding with me got off the transport and went into one of the buildings. I looked around, the many of the buildings were light gray or white, as was the road area. The trees, sky, and sidewalk were all normally colored, though. It was a strange contrast. I think I got off of the transport and parked it in some sort of little alley.

Another thing that I noticed was that the buildings were rather dense along here. They were packed fairly close together, most of them were 2 story, and it made the area feel almost like it was in a ravine of some sort, or maybe some sort of maze. I think I started looking for a particular building (perhaps the school), but the dream ended about here.

Nelly In the Parking Lot

Em (wife) and I were in a place that was a lot like Ocean City. We had been out on the beach or shopping at the stores, and we had decided to go back to the car to leave. As we got to the parking lot, I noticed that our cat, Nelly, was laying out in the parking lot just in front of our car. She wasn't hurt, and in fact she was just laying there, periodically rolling around, and just being content in the sun, but I knew that if Em saw her, she'd freak out. I don't think it was because Nelly had gotten loose out of the apartment, but more because she was just laying in front of the car, and could, in the right light, appear to have been hit, rather than laying there enjoying herself. I knew that I wouldn't be able to convince Em otherwise, so I tried to get her to the car without her seeing Nelly.

We finally got into the car, and we drove away. We didn't have to drive far, because our apartment overlooked the parking lot we had been in, which was about 500 or so feet away. After I got Em to the apartment, I was somehow able to convince her to stay there and not look outside while I "went to take care of something." When I got back outside, there was a bald guy there. He was kind of short, fairly stocky and muscular, and I think was supposed to be somewhat famous. He reminded me a little of Phil Collins, but it wasn't him.

Anyway, we were up on the fourth floor, and we looked out at the parking lot. The parking lot was now full of corn stalks, and Nelly was jumping from stalk to stalk across the top of them. We could just see her getting ready while swaying a little bit, jumping, catching hold of the new one, causing it to sway quite a bit, waiting for it to slow down, and then getting ready and doing it all again. I'm not sure if she was chasing after something, or if she was just jumping for the fun of it.

We both went down there, just by walking, and we got to the corn "field", which was still only the size of the parking lot, which was big enough to hold only about 20 cars. I'm not sure what the guy did, but somehow he seemed to have a fairly easy time getting her back. He handed her to me, and we went back up to the apartment. He was just getting ready to leave, and I thanked him for helping me.

Sorrows and Orbitals

About the first thing I remember is being at work at Mercedes. It was getting to be evening time, and everyone was leaving. It had been sunny out earlier, and I could still see the sun on the tops of some of the trees, but in a few minutes that would be gone. As I went out into the parking lot with my stuff, Russ (a coworker) was there. I think he was having trouble getting his truck running or something, and so I wound up helping him jump it or something. After a trip or two back inside to get some stuff or to wait, we finally got it running.

After this, he decided to come over to my house. So we left, and we wound up at Grandmamma Miller's house. We were sitting in the dining room with a bunch of other people. I think it was mostly women, and while in the dream I knew who they all were, I can't remember most of them now. I was sitting on the side of the room by my old bedroom door. (downstairs) Everything was still decorated as if Grandmamma were living there, as opposed to how mom decorated it once we moved in.

Anyway, everyone was sitting in this big circle. To my right was someone, and on the other side of her was Russ. Across the room from me, over by the corner of the bathroom (where the piano used to sit) was mom. Most of the people were sitting in those beige metal fold down chairs. We were going to do some sort of coin gambling. I was excited because I actually had a pocket full of change, so I was going to be able to play. Russ pulled out a nickel, and he held it up and said, "This is a nickel." and he was placing his bet. He chucked it over in the direction of Grandmamma's old stereo. It bounced off the front of it and landed on the shelf in front of it. I picked through my handful of change, found a nickel, and did the same thing.

After this, some really strange stuff happened, but I'm not sure about the specific order of what went on. I think I wound up catching a quick glimpse of this "other world" that almost looked like some sort of playing board floating out in space. It had all these orange/brown blobby looking creatures on it. They were arranged in a particular fashion on this grid, and the "board" they were on was only about 10 of these grid squares wide. The board looked like it had some terrain features on it, like some dead trees, hills and valleys, and things like that, but it was small. From the view that I saw it, it would have fit on the surface of my desk. It may have been about 20 or 30 of these grid squares long, too.

All in all, it was pretty small, but I had a revelation about it. I realized that they were going to be traveling THROUGH our group, literally. They were invisible and intangible beings that would pass through each person if, when our worlds crossed, the person was in a place where one of these creatures would be traveling through. It was almost as if our world was going to be tumbled down their playing board as if we were on a some sort of slope, and whatever our world passed through would affect us. I somehow found out that these thing were called Sorrows.

Passing through a person would cause them to feel such immense sorrow that it would take a long time for them to snap out of it. Then it happened. The worlds slid against one another, and I saw that some of the people were contacted, and they were affected immediately. I managed to stay out of the way, and therefore I wasn't affected, but I immediately saw a number of the women start weeping. My mom was one of them that was affected. She was crying, and she said something into the crowd. She kind of shouted it, but I noticed that whatever it was (it was something positive about me, such as she was saying that loved me or something) she was smiling as she was crying.

After this she was fine, although it took some of the others a bit longer to recover. Mom had found a "cure" for the Sorrows. I'm not sure if she said something, if I did, or if people just figured it out, but eventually they had all worked out a "cure" for it. Then I saw a second vision.

It was the same playing field that the Sorrows were on before, but now it was bigger. The Sorrows had divided and moved off to either side, and now in the middle were these gray/green creatures. In the dream, I knew what they were called, but now I can't remember. All I know is that they were worse than Sorrows. If one of them came into contact with any of the people there, then those people would instantly be so overcome that they would commit suicide on the spot. I started to maneuver to get people out of the way so that none of them would get touched, but I wasn't able to move quickly enough. I got almost everyone except for one or two.

When they were touched by the new creatures, they immediately fell to the floor sobbing, and were so broken hearted that they just died on the spot. This, of course, made everyone sad almost as if the Sorrows themselves had touched them, and we all wound up leaving.

The next thing I knew, I was back in the vision of the board, but I traveled beyond it and through space to a very small planet somewhere else far far away. Where I arrived, it was a bit like a bar or a club, and it was combined with a skate park and skating rink. There were lots of kids around, and there were places cut out in the floor (like the big cement "pools" that are at skate parks) and people were on skateboards and having fun skating around and through these things. I walked around a bit and looked at these things and watched people.

At one point, I saw Skinner from Degrassi. His hair was bleached blond and he was skating around through one of these pools. I was supposed to be hanging out with him and watching him skate in the pools. I noticed, though, that these pools were really small. They were only 6 or 8 feet around and only about 6 inches or a foot deep. It was shallow enough that I thought that even I could try it.

So after a bit the area that we were in cleared out, and grabbed a skateboard and I went down into it to try it out. I never really seemed to touch the bottom of the pool. I mostly hovered around the whole thing, and I wasn't really trying to move, but I did. It was almost as if I were in "training mode." I think that Skinner chuckled at me a bit for not really doing anything.

I stepped up out of the pool, and someone was there to talk to me. I think it was some older woman (mid 40's or so?) I'm not sure what she was there about, but as we were talking, I heard something off to my left. It sounded like a high pitched buzzing/ringing noise, and it was coming in my direction. I turned to see what it was, and something about the way the floor was laid out, it was as if there were a portion of it, right there inside the skate arena, that slopped off and down right into space. I looked down just in time to see this thing about the size of a brown pea come flying up over the horizon, pass within a few feet of me, and continue on in it's upward direction. There was a bit of an arc to it's trajectory, almost as if I could see it's orbit around the planet. As it went by it gave off this "Zing!" sound.

I looked astonished because I had no idea where it came from, and it had come and gone so quickly. I looked at the woman who had been talking to me, and she gawked back at me. She said, "You saw it?" and I said yes. She said something like, "But no one ever sees Orbitals!" I told her, "Well, I did!" and she was just absolutely amazed about it. She told me that I needed to talk to someone, and she took me a bit to my left where this was this middle aged gentleman in a white shirt, dark dress pants, and glasses. He seemed to be some sort of scientist or something. He was fairly cheerful, but somewhat busy at the moment. He was directing something going on.

The area was now almost like some sort of "port". I was standing up on the same ground I had been, but now I was over at the left edge of it. In front of me there was a canal where something was supposed to park/land and take off again. Across from me was another "platform" like what I was standing on. The canal went off to my right, as did the platform. The area we were in, I noticed, seemed hewn out of orange/brown stone. In the far wall across from me, behind the other platform, was a tunnel opening that had stairs in it that went upstairs. To my left was a large circular tunnel that was full of stones and rubble. The scientist was directing someone or something to clean that out.

I heard a rumbling and saw some of the rocks moving, and then finally the thing burst through. It was this giant brown/orange "ball" that had the appearance of being made of extraordinarily large earthworms. It had two big eyes and a big mouth, and it's lower "jaw" jutted out in a way that it's large bottom teeth stuck out, almost as if it were somewhat bulldog like. I realized that it was a giant Sorrow! I was amazed that the scientist had it under his control. It was eating the rocks and rubble. It stopped for a moment outside of the pile and the tunnel, and it gave a disinterested look around, licked it's chops and chewed a bit of rock that it had left in it's mouth, and then it bounced, turned around, and kept going. It was almost as if the thing was from a giant video game. (as a note, the green/gray creatures with the Sorrows in the dream looked just like the Sorrows, but were just a different color, signifying that they were different/worse)

After the thing turned around and kept going, the scientist turned to me and started to tell me about the Orbitals. He said that they were constantly everywhere at all times around every planet. It's just that no one ever sees them because they lack the ability. As he was explaining this, I found myself looking down in the opposite direction from the rubble filled tunnel, and the "world" that I was on suddenly looked like a long metal tube or cylinder that was only about 6 feet wide or so. Around it I saw a few orbitals moving around it very fast.

As I kept watching, I saw more and more, until finally I jumped down and lay flat on the "world" and let them zing and zoom over my head and all around me. I was momentarily worried about being hit and pierced by one of these things, but then suddenly it gelled for me. The planet was spinning around its axis, and the Orbitals were spinning in the same direction, usually at roughly the same speed. I realized that the "dirt" of the planet was actually made of these orbitals, and that's why no one ever saw them. To them, it was just stationary dirt. But I was able to see them for what they really were. I dense grouping of fast moving Orbitals. After this, I stood back up and I was in the "station" again, and the dream ended.
