Family of Thinkers: Scrolls Cry in His Eyes

Early on in the dream, I'm not sure where I started out, but I wound up at this family's house. This family was supposed to be someone I knew. They were a very intelligent family, and they played lots of "brain games" that required a higher intelligence to accomplish the tasks set forth in the games. Originally I wasn't really there to see them, but I was supposed to be there without their knowing. I was moving around there house fairly quietly, but in odd ways.

The house was situated out in the woods a fairly good drive from the city. It was a very open and woodsy house, though it was contemporary and finished nicely inside. Anyway, when I was moving around from point to point inside the house, I was doing so on instruction from some girl. I think the girl was supposed to be Alyssa, the "good catch" that Matthew knows from school. I think it may have even been her family that owned the house.

It was strange moving around from room to room at first, because to sneak around the way I was supposed to go, the rooms would suddenly seem suspended by large cables or even bolts that hung from the ceiling, and then I was supposed to swing from support to support to get from room to room. It was like I was in between rooms, almost like being in the walls, but the empty space between the rooms was several feet. Also, when I was in between rooms, there looked like there were no walls on any of the rooms, but once I was in a room, it looked normal.

It started out as night time, and as I said, no one except for Alyssa knew I was there. Somehow, though, I wasn't careful enough, and the mom figured out that I was there. She was this average looking blond woman with long hair. She was tall and thin, and as with the rest of the family, very intelligent.

After she found out I was there, she was meeting me in room after room as I traveled. It almost seemed like a tour of the home. Throughout the course of events, I eventually met Alyssa's two [slightly] younger brothers. They were busy playing some sort of intelligence games. I think that's where I first got the concept of these high intelligence games that the family played. I watched them for a bit, and then I kept moving around.

The dad had been at work, but then he finally showed up, and he came into the kitchen and was having a cup of coffee. He was dressed in a button down white shirt and dress slacks, and he had a briefcase. Him and the mom started talking for a bit, but she knew it was better for the dad to not find out I was there, so I was hovering outside of the floating structure of the room to listen to the conversation. I forget what was being talked about, but I moved again, trying to swing to the kitchen in order to make it to a different room, but he caught me as I did. He wasn't upset or anything, like I thought he would be. After the whole family knew I was there, I just moved around the house like they did, by walking.

I think I met their dog(s) which were something like yellow labs. I think I went in and talked to the dad again at some point when I felt that I should leave, since it was now getting light out, and he mentioned something to me and Alyssa. I think he was giving us instructions on what to do if he were to die. In my mind, he showed me the house that I needed to go to, and the man I needed to see, and I remember him telling Alyssa what she needed to say to the man to prove that she knew him and wasn't just trying to use him after her father's death.

A long space of time went by where I don't remember much of anything, but I finally went outside of the house, and it was very hilly and woodsy, but there was a street right outside of the house at the end of the driveway. I think I had driven Em's (wife) car down there from the house, but by the time I actually go down there, I was walking. There were a bunch of people down there, and they were all supposed to be working on the road and the surrounding area for landscaping. Something about them, though, I knew that they weren't really workers as they were with some strange cult. The "main" guy had long-ish hair, that was messy, and he was dusty all over as if he had been working on sanding drywall. He reminded me a bit of Charles Manson, but that wasn't who it was supposed to be. Whoever it was, I knew him in the dream, but I can't remember him outside of it.

Somehow the father had died while I was out there, and all these people had suddenly thought that he was theirs for the taking. I had to "fight" them about it for a while, but I finally go them to lay their hands off, and I did something with him that allowed me to pack him into a small box, like an ice cream carton. I knew that I had to go find this guy that he had showed to us in the "vision" with Alyssa.

I had him and I had traveled quite a way, and I had gotten lost. I didn't really know where I was, but I felt like I had taken a wrong turn somewhere and wound up in a completely wrong place from where I was supposed to be. Alyssa, who was now looking a bit more like Pink (the *cough* singer), was with me, and she just kind of jumped ahead and disappeared for a bit.

I then saw things from her eyes for a short time. She was trying to convince this guy that she was supposed to bring him her father when he passed away, but the guy was being a real dick about it. She tried to recite the words that her dad had given her, but she wasn't able to remember them exactly, and so she wound up saying things like "He has crows in his eyes", and hoping that would work on the guy. The guy thought she was talking gibberish and threatened to call the police, or worse, to take care of her himself.

Then I was in my own perspective again. She came back and said that she had found the man that her father had requested. I went around the corner (we were inside, but still outside, so it was like turning the corner in a large hallway, but it wasn't quite it) and to my right was the guy standing in the door like the father had shown us. I went up to the guy with the ice cream carton that was about half full of rapidly melting ice cream, and I used a scoop to dig some of it up and move some of it around to show it to the guy, and I told him who it was. He said, "So he wanted you put put him here just because my house is so cold!" I thought that the dad didn't want to melt!

I was trying to think of a way to get the Pink to recite the words that her dad had said, but I couldn't do it and let the guy know that I knew anything about it. We had pretty much given up hope, and we had started to leave after the guy was all pissed at us and laughing at us to leave, when the girl suddenly stopped in the middle of the hallway (even though we were supposed to be outside, we were walking through what seemed to be a hallway heading out of a bedroom that had a mirrored closet to our left as we were leaving) and she quietly recited the words. She said "Scrolls cry in his eyes."

The guy jumped, and he shouted, "What!!" Suddenly everything went dark, and there was a sound that echoed around. (it reminded me of when everything goes dark in Diablo for the Claw Viper Temple quest). I turned to my left, and I saw the mirrored closet (at more of a distance of about 15 feet) shimmer and move, almost like they were being fixed and melting together from being broken.

The girl turned past me to my left, and suddenly she was supposed to be the guy, but still looked like her. Her face contorted, and her back was to me. She got sucked into the glass, and slammed up against the far wall (which had been a reflection previously, but her words acted like a spell that caused it to be a room that acted as a jail) She bumped into me as she got sucked in, and the wall she was against was now only about 2 or 3 feet away from me.

She turned her head quickly to the left side, and she bared her teeth. She now had fangs, and she flung her left hand up and against the wall. I saw her nails turn black and grow out like claws, and I noticed that the pants and tube-top she was wearing went black (I don't know what colors they were before) and turned to leather. Also, her eyes went completely black. Somehow this trapped the guy and I was supposed to get the father inside the house. To see such a change in the girl, combined with the sound, wound up frightening me terribly, and scared me awake.

Birthday Dinner at Loy's

I was at work, and I was invited to go to Loy's (from Mercedes) house for his birthday dinner. I thought that was pretty cool, so I accepted. It was supposed to take place about a half an hour after work, so that didn't give me enough time to come home and change, so I just wound up going straight there.

The journey there was very strange. I started out walking, and then I broke out running. I was going along a road, and I think some of the other people from work were passing me, and I had to stop one of them and ask them how to get to Loy's place because I realized that I didn't know how to get there. I had started out going down Trinity Blvd towards Fort Worth.

After getting directions (possibly from Don, the fat guy at work), I started going the right way. I was running again, but I felt like that was taking so long, so I started doing really long jumps. It was almost like flying for short distances. It was easier than running, and faster, too. Eventually my jumps got so long that it really was like flying for distances of hundreds of feet. Someone else was there with me, leading the way. It was possibly Loy, but a bit younger than he actually currently is (late 50's). We were both doing the same thing.

Pretty soon I realized that I was actually in Virginia, and I was going down the road that went back past the church that I used to ride my bike and run on all the time. I was kind of competing with Loy to see who could stay up in the air the longest, and I had some pretty good jumps. During the jumps, just to show how easy I thought it was, I was reclining back and taking it easy, just letting the ground move under me. I remember thinking to myself something along the lines of what I have been thinking about for the past two days in waking life (about the reality of things being just a reflection of consciousness, and therefore consciousness should be able to alter reality directly rather than just accepting the predetermined patterns) and feeling determined to consciously alter reality so that I could just keep flying instead of having to keep touching down to push myself off again.

I was trying to pull myself up as I saw I was heading back to the ground again. I was getting a little frustrated because I didn't seem to be able to get it to work, but I was still happy that I was having so much fun anyway. I think the rest of the work crew were actually behind us a ways, either doing the same thing, or just driving.

Then, somehow, I got way ahead of Loy, and even though we had been going all around the country side, I wound up at the little schoolhouse at the point where there is a left turn off of the road, and it forks to either go to Stephen's (friend from school) house or to the Weyers Cave Airport. The schoolhouse, though, was on the wrong side from waking life. Usually it sits on the far corner, so it's on your right if you turn left there at that road. Here, it was on the close side so that it was on your left.

I went in, and I talked to whoever was in there. (I never actually saw them) I was trying to get some sort of directions again, and I could almost swear that they were telling me which road to take, but not quite literally. I think they said something about going to Buddha Road, which I had already seen. I indeed remembered seeing the sign for the road that they were talking about, and I think it was blue with a gold Buddha sitting in the middle of it.

I remember looking out of the window of the place, which felt more like a "country general store" than an old schoolhouse, and I was looking at the fork in the road. The one on the right (going to Stephen's) was the one that had the sign she was talking about. (Hmmm, and I just realized that the person I was talking to was a female rather than a male).

Anyway, I didn't really think that they gave the directions that I was looking for. I needed to know how to get farther ahead of Loy through a shortcut. But I took this answer, and I went outside just in time to see Loy coming from the direction I already had. So I took off with him again, just going up the road like we had been. I didn't take the path that the woman in the school/store had told me about.

Eventually, through more jumping/flying, we wound up at Loy's house. In their front lawn, I met up with Em (wife), and we went inside. The house was huge, and full of large decorative items, marble floors, vases, plants, and dark woods. It had a very formal, almost museum like, quality to it. Loy's wife greeted us inside the Foyer.

We were in with a bigger group of people, and so she lead us all around down to the right, and through a big door into a dark hallway. The hallway was relatively short (maybe only about 10 feet or so), and on the other end, we walked into this grand dining room. By grand, I'm talking about 100 feet by 100 feet, and the table itself was about 20 feet long, if not longer. The table was on the close side of the room, so we went up to it, towards the left end of it, but on the close side, and we got onto these big cushiony "chairs". They weren't really like chairs, but big cushions that were tilted in our direction. They were about 5 feet wide and 3 or so feet deep, and very soft. We didn't sit in them like normal chairs. We leaned forward onto them, like laying across a big pillow, with our arms and heads hanging off the far side, and our feet and legs off of the close side.

Then, the chairs raised us up about 10 feet to the height of the table, where we situated ourselves around to be sitting on these big cushions rather than laying across them. The dinner seemed that it was going to be very formal, and there were even menus there for us to look at to decide what we wanted to eat. I was starting to feel a bit worried because I wasn't seeing much that I would like. It was all fairly vegetarian.

Em was seated to my left, and someone that I knew in the dream but can't remember now was seated to my right. We were about 3 seats from the left end of the table, and Loy sat up at the head of the table. His wife was down at the other end. I think it was at this point that I knew what Loy's wife looked like. She was largish with blond curly hair. Neither her or Loy were dressed formally, but just fairly casually. I also realized that soon after getting into the house, I was no longer in my work uniform, but in my tan button down shirt and khaki shorts. Also, we had taken off our shoes at the bottom of the table and we were sitting up in the cushions cross legged.

At one point, I realized that Sarah (ex-girlfriend) had also been invited, and she had spotted me as I had gotten up to the table, and so she went and took a seat across from me, but down one to my right (so kind of diagonally from me). She tried talking to me for a bit, and all I said was "hey", and tried to ignore her the rest of the time.

Em was getting very pissed off at not only Sarah being there, but at the fact that she decided to come and sit so close to us. I kept trying to calm Em down, and she kept wanting to spout off to Sarah. Sarah did have a bit of a menacing twinkle in her eye, like she knew that she was pissing Em off, and she wanted to prove that she didn't care, and that she was going to talk to me anyway.

After a short bit, she traded places with the person directly in front of me. I remember noticing that her hair was different. It was now straight, and it was bobbed above the shoulders. She had bangs, and her hair was parted in the middle. Anywho, she kept trying to talk to me, and I kept trying to ignore her, and Em kept trying to tell her off. I was trying to get Em to ignore her, but it just didn't seem to help. I had considered just getting the small talk out of the way and trying to make it obvious that I didn't feel like talking with her, and perhaps she'd leave sooner than if I just ignored her. But at the same time I was afraid that if I did engage in any sort of conversation, Em would have my head for it, even if I was trying to get Sarah to go away without saying directly "go away". I was having a hard time deciding what to do, and Em kept spouting little things under her breath like "stupid fucking bitch!" and other similar phrases. I almost wanted to laugh at Em for being so upset when she didn't have to be. We could have just ignored her together and given her the impression that neither one of us were interested in pursuing any sort of conversation with her, but it didn't look like that was how we were going to handle it. I almost felt like I was fighting two forces that were trying to make a go at each other rather than directly at me. It was about here that the dream ended.

Repainting the Van

A group of us from work were out in the parking lot of the Villas at Beaver Creek, and there was something about being on some sort of show kind of like where they take a vehicle and spruce it up to be much better. We were supposed to be cleaning and repainting this guys work van, and I remember being on top of it to clean it. There were a bunch of other people around, and they were all helping to clean it too.

I think we were supposed to be painting up in some sort of rainbow style for gay pride, but I forget what the pattern really was. Also, the cleaning was strange and tedious, but I don't remember what exactly we were doing. At one point the guy showed up and saw what we were doing, and he was thrilled. We wanted it to be a surprise, but he spoiled it, but it still went well. Then, somehow in all of this, there was something about renting videos from a video store that I went to once in some other dream.

They Kept Coming In

I was at home (Grandmamma's House), and it was chilly outside, and so we had turned up the heat so that it was warm inside. I started feeling pretty comfortable when someone else there noticed a number of bugs coming in. There seemed to be an awful lot of them, and so while I was trying to figure out a way to get them out without killing them all, I was also trying to figure out how they were coming in.

After some looking around, I realized that they were coming in through the wall/floor of the living room facing 256. Evidently one of the floor vents for the heat actually just ran right outside to the outer wall of the house, and things were coming in from there. All sorts of things started showing up through this vent, even though I was trying to scoop and scare things back down into the vent to get them out. There were a number of spiders and worms, as well as things like snakes and kittens. They were all just trying to get inside to keep warm, but I didn't want them in the house because I knew if I let them stay, they'd make this their new home.

I kept trying to get all these things back down into the hole, and I found that the wall also had a bit of space underneath it, and things were coming in through there, too. A number of times I tried stomping at the area to try to scare the things back down, but it usually didn't work. None of these things cared. They just wanted to come in and get warm. I think I was finally able to start getting things out, and as I did, I was able to use boards and heavy things laid on top of them to hold them in place to keep the critters out.

I then went upstairs, and they were having the same problem in the "girls' room". (the kids from Full House were in my old upstairs bedroom). They were also having problems with bees and such, and somehow eventually I wound up seeing into the entire wall, which was like a room unto itself, and I could see all the bees and such there. Somehow I eventually got everything all sealed up and we were able to keep all the critters out.

I wound up suddenly walking into a restaurant place for breakfast wearing black "khaki" shorts, a turquoise polo shirt, and a turquoise "Members Only" jacket. I wondered if I would be allowed in since I wasn't dressed up, and I was. They served breakfast from all sorts of places, like McDonald's, Denny's, etc. There were a bunch of firefighters there that were just getting up to leave, and I was just sitting down.

As I did, there was a bag showing all the places that they get their breakfasts from, and there was some sort of announcement on the P.A. system about looking into the bag to see if you had won the prize. I think the prize was a free breakfast. I don't remember who won, but I do remember seeing that the place was packed, and it was all served cafeteria style, and the line going into the cafeteria was LONG.

Balls at the Beach

[Another one that I just wrote the outline and never went back and finished.]

-Talking to mom from Grandmamma's house about letter she got from little girl about/to Dave (uncle)

-Going to beach. Seeing a number of people there that I knew that were famous, but didn't seem famous to me. (Bill Cosby or Ben Vereen?) Sean (cousin) was also there.

-Making balls of something and rolling them towards the ocean (from about 15 feet away) and accidentally hitting the black women in bikinis there. They were large black women, and one of them was even naked, with a huge ass, and facing away from me.

-Going back to Mom's townhouse/In-Laws' Condo and seeing letter from little girl that mom had mentioned. Had drawings that were supposed to be of Dave, too.

A Kiss From Glen

I was at work at Mercedes in Fort Worth, and there were some issues going on around there where not much actual work was getting done. Ron (supervisor) and Roy (team leader) were walking around with John (PDC Manager) and Glen (Glen is the "Big Headed" guy that's a supervisor out in the warehouse).

I was just kind of milling around looking for stuff to do. At one point, I somehow fell asleep. I dreamt that I was out by the instrument cluster ticket printer, and I was sitting in a chair. While I was there, facing away from the packing area, Glen came up behind me, leaned down over me and gave me a kiss on the left side of my forehead. I was pissed! I jumped up, knocking the chair over, and I yelled. I turned around and I pointed at him, and I looked straight at him and I said, "You will NEVER come near me again! NEVER!!"

I then woke up into the first dream, and I went over to the lock setting area to tell Pete (Teresa) about the dream. She was having some sort of issue with her kids, and because of it, she wasn't feeling well. (Emotional Turmoil -> Physical Turmoil) She had a rag in her hand, and a small trashcan near by. She had gotten sick into the trash can. I told her about the dream that I had about Glen, and she laughed at me. I had thought that she would be pissed at him for showing up in my dream and doing that, and glad that I told him to stay away from me. Instead she was on the verge of making fun of me because of it. I was a bit put off by that. It was shortly after this that the dream ended.

[Ugh, a dream about work where I fell asleep and dreamed about work... Yuck.]

House Hunting and Getting Away From the Storm

I'm not sure how the dream started up, but eventually I came to realize that I was house hunting in Virginia. I showed up at Steve and Janet's (parents of Robert and Ryan, some kids my mom used to babysit) house, but they had cleaned it up and out, and it was for sale. I knocked and went in, and Janet was showing some other people around. I think she was showing Dick and Virginia around (some friends of Grandmamma's from Pleasant Valley Church), but she said to feel free to look around.

I noticed that it was pretty dark (no lights were on) and that everything was in dark wood tones. But it wasn't nice wood. It was like cheap dark and rough cabinetry from the 70s. I went around and looked in the kitchen, and eventually wound up in the basement. There was a pool table down there. I played a little bit of pool, but I think that Dick kept somehow distracting me or getting in my way.

I think that mom may have also shown up to look at the house, and I think I wound up leaving with her, because I had walked there originally. When we got back to mom's house, there were a lot of people there. It was gray and rainy out, and it looked like there was a massive storm coming. I'm not sure of the direction it was coming from, though. I just know that it seemed to be getting colder out, and so we wound up going inside.

It seems that there was a lot of preparation going on for the storm. A bunch of people were inside that I knew: Mom, Aunt Irene, Eric, Matthew (brothers), Ed (from Mercedes), Anita (from school), and some others that I can't remember. There was a total of about maybe about 15 or 20 people running around and doing stuff.

Something happened, and I wound up getting kicked out. I'm not sure if mom did it or not. I just know that I suddenly had to leave. Then funny thing was that I had to put on my swimming trunks, and I went outside. It was now night time out. There was something about the number of us that had been kicked out in that we were supposed to represent various monsters. Someone was/had a toy version of Godzilla. That's about the only one I remember, but that's how it was supposed to be for each of us.

Anywho, just beyond where the cars were supposed to be parked (but they weren't) the entire "orchard" was now an ocean. The water stretched on forever, and we were supposed to swim away to somewhere else. We got in and started, but none of us were swimming very quickly. I'm not sure, but I think that it was shallow enough that I was actually walking along the bottom of this "ocean". Others that weren't as tall as me, though, had to actually swim for it. Some of us seemed to be swimming in pairs. Ed was helping out Vanessa (his wife), and there was another "couple" helping each other out.

Then, while I was going along (I was maybe 100 feet or so into it), I saw Anita in a black Speedo bikini. She was having a lot of trouble swimming because her left arm evidently wasn't working. I went over to her and put my arm around her to help out. She thanked me and told me that her arm had fallen asleep before getting in. I understood, and we kept going.

Then something about the big storm came up again, and we realized that we'd never make it to where we needed to go before it showed up, so we turned around and started heading back. Ed, Vanessa, Anita, and I were all about to the area where the cars are normally parked when we realized that we couldn't go back inside because we had been kicked out. We decided to turn a little left and go towards the corner of the orchard/ocean, and get out and go towards the parking area in front of the Big Barn.

I helped Anita out of the water, and we all decided to get into the vehicles there. One of them was the grey truck that I had wrecked when I was 16 (although in the dream I had no knowledge of ever wrecking it). It was now daytime out.

Ed, who now looked like the "dance competitor" in the Starsky and Hutch movie (almost like a young version of Ron Jeremy), was trying to get into my truck and set it up for himself. I told him no, he needed to go elsewhere, and he was trying to hang a red tee shirt in the door window and roll up the window so it would stay there. I knew that he had done that before, and it caused him to get a ticket from the police, so I was telling him that I didn't want to get a ticket, too, and that he needed to stop and get out of my truck. So he and Vanessa finally did, and Anita and I were around at the passenger side of the truck.

We were trying to decide who would be with who in which vehicle, and I said that I'd offer to let Anita stay in my truck with me. There seemed to be some snickering from Ed about it, but I glared at him and he shut up. Then we got into the truck, and there seemed to be some issue about needing to keep warm, as well as running our electronics while we were in there. I think I realized that Ed was putting up the red shirts in the windows to keep heat in, light out, and stuff like that.

I remember checking in some bag for our CD player and batteries, as well as a way to plug it in. We had food and drink as well. It was like we really were going to wait out this storm inside of the truck. (which is really a stupid thing to do) Then something came up, and we needed to drive the truck and leave. I know we got just a little way down the road (nearly where the Cherry Tree used to be at the corner of our yard) and I had to get out and go back up to the house for a bit. I went in, and there were still a lot of people in there, and mom seemed angry at me for returning. I got or said whatever it was that needed to be done, and then I left again.

School Time and Drowning

I started out in some sort of factory. It was almost as if I were sleeping there and just waking up. It was fairly dark in there. The room I was in was huge, and the ceiling was a couple of hundred of feet up. I forget what it was that I was supposed to be doing, but there was something about the big rectangular metal plates attached to the ceiling. We were supposed to be using them to process our real work or something, as if they maybe had lots of pins or spikes on one side of them, and we had to stack things on them, kind of like rings on pins or something. We were supposed to use two at a time, and I remember thinking that I needed to go get someone to get down two of those plates for me.

I got up and went to go find someone, and I wound up walking around through this hallway and winding up in the cafeteria of Stewart Middle School, only it was smaller, but it had the feel of it with only a few of the lights on. (like they used to do in the mornings for breakfast)

While I was in there, I knew I had to be getting back to work quickly, but my watch started beeping. I looked at it, and I realized that I was receiving my email on it. Matthew (brother) had sent me one, but I didn't get a chance to read it. The cafeteria was now about the size of the break room at Mercedes in Fort Worth.

As I looked up from my watch, I saw Aunt Irene and a couple of others there. They were all women family members. One was mom, and another was kind of like Grandma Beddows. I wanted to stop to talk them for a bit, but I knew that if I did, I'd be in trouble. I think I told them I'd talk to them later, and I wound up going down the back hallway, and into a room on the left.

I was now in college. I don't know which college it was, but it was supposed to be back east somewhere, and maybe even up north, like in Vermont. It seems that I had three or four classes, and they were all in the same room, with the same people, and with the same teacher. He was a younger guy, probably right around 30.

My classes were an art class, some sort of music class, English, and possibly something else that I can't remember. The thing is, they weren't really kept separate. Because the same teacher taught all of the classes, and they all happened in the same room with the same people, some of the material would spill over from one class to another.

I remember coming into the class room, and I went to go take a seat. Not everyone was there yet, and I think that most people were supposed to bring their own desks, but they had a few for those of us who didn't have one to bring. I chose one of those and went to sit in it. When I sat in it, it started to slide forward. The floor was actually up on a 45 degree angle. It was supposed to be stadium seating like in those big lecture halls, but instead of all the desks already in place, they could be moved around, and there was no flat surface to put them on. You were supposed to keep the desk placed on the 45 degree angled floor. Somehow they were supposed to lock into place on the floor, but my desk kept sliding. I tried moving my desk from back in the back near the top of the room to right behind another desk of a girl in front of me. The desk kept sliding, and I was going to eventually wind up running into her, so I decided to keep going forward until I had the desk up in the very front of the classroom. I was in the front row, and as a result, I was periodically talking to the teacher about our classwork. I remember he posted up a drawing on the chalkboard at one point, and it was his own, but he was using it to go over a previous drawing assignment.

After a bit, I remember checking my watch, and I had to go. I left and wound up going to some fast food place. While I was there, some of the jocks from my class showed up. They decided to come pick on me because I couldn't get the desk to stay in place during class. The main one looked like Skinner from Degrassi. He was trying to piss me off, but evidently I had some sort of dirt on him, and I wound up bringing it up when he sat down in my booth across from me. It seemed to upset him quite a bit, and he may have even started to cry. I think I had said something about him breaking up with his girlfriend (some chunky black girl) and how she had committed suicide because of him. He finally got up and left.

A little while later, I had gone back to my dorm room, but it was also a school gathering of some sort. A lot of the people from Degrassi were there. I remember being up in this gazebo sort of area that was way up on top of one of the five or six story buildings. I was talking to someone, and then I heard the P.A. system start up. It was Skinner. He cleared his throat, and then he spoke. Whatever he said, it was short and almost too brief. I think he may have just said, "Breakup" and walked off. We all knew that meant he was breaking up with his girlfriend, who this time was a thin black girl. We knew that the same thing was going to happen to her that had happened to the previous girlfriend. She was so distraught that she was going to go commit suicide.

I saw this brief "video clip" fire off in my mind about this whole situation. It went back and showed the first girlfriend finding out. She was walking away from school, and as she passed a fire hydrant and a bunch of people, she fell and dropped her books. She was kind of a glowing greenish white ghost that kept reliving the past. I then saw, briefly, the thin black girl (Hazel from Degrassi?) crying and upset, and she seemed to be turning into the same greenish white ghost that no one could see.

I think my watch beeped again with the email stuff, and I knew that I had to head back home. I got home to Grandmamma Miller's house, and the group of women that I had seen earlier were all there. Aunt Irene, mom, Grandma Beddows, and two others that I can't remember. They were all very happy to see me, and I was very happy to see them. I was giving them each a big hug. I think I gave mom one first, and then Aunt Irene, and then the two women that I can't remember, and then finally Grandma Beddows. I talked with them all for a bit, and I noticed that it was night time out now.

After talking, I told them that I had to go to a doctor's appointment. I left and I went to a podiatrist that was up on Afton Mountain. It was still early morning and very cold out. Technically they weren't even open yet, but they let me in anyway. I walked around and finally found a place to sit back in the back office while the doctor went around and cleaned up. She was also trying to get the place warm, and her assistant wound up turning on some sort of heater in the next room that blew warm air into this room we were in. I was sitting on a couch watching the doctor. She was trying to sweep off this big cast iron thing next to a stove that had a bunch of thick dust and old dry grass clippings on it. She was having quite a bit of trouble with it because it was all so dry that the broom she was using was just moving it around and blowing it around, but not really able to sweep it anywhere. She struggled with it for a while because her thought was that she had to do that in order to be able to start up the stove and warm the place up. When she realized there was a bunch of heat coming in from the heater in the next room, she was thrilled and came over to the couch and took off her shoes and curled up on the sofa.

It was at this point that I really was able to see her to describe her. She had shortish sandy blond hair, and she was wearing a tan or brown business skirt suit and pantyhose. She snuggled up next to me, and the assistant came in and snuggled up on the other side of her. We were all just sitting there enjoying the warmth.

I then realized that there was still a cold breeze coming from the part of the room in front of me where the doctor had been sweeping. The windows were open! I had thought about closing them, but the doctor said that leaving them open was fine.

Then there was a car horn beep, and we looked up, and it was Mike (former step-father), mom, Eric, Matthew (brothers), and a Buddhist monk. They had pulled up right outside the window in Em's (wife) Lancer, and somehow it was floating/flying. They had come to pick us up. When I looked next, the doctor was actually Em, and so we said goodbye to the assistant, and we got into the back seat of the car with Eric.

We took off going down the ridge of the mountain. The road we were on was up on the very top of everything, and so we could see both valleys on either side of us. Em was just thrilled at how pretty it was, and I was telling her that the valley to the left was the one that we live in in Weyers Cave, and the one to the right we called "Grandmamma and Granddaddy B's Valley" because that's where they lived. Em was saying "oooh!" and "Aaaah!" as we were going down the road.

I suddenly realized that we were going way too fast down the mountain, and it turned out that Mike had started looking off to the left at some sort of logging trucks or something, and he wasn't paying attention to how fast we were going, or even WHERE we were going. I realized that the monk was in the front seat, and he was turned around facing us, sitting completely backwards on the front seat, and in the middle. Matthew was in the passenger side, and mom was no nowhere to be found. I was on the driver's side in the back, Em was in the middle, and Eric was on the passenger side. I saw us heading off the right side of the road, and we all yelled to Mike simultaneously. I was really upset at him for not paying attention to his driving. He said something about PetSmart, as if the trucks that he was looking had something to do with it.

He started slowing down and getting back onto the road, but he didn't hit his breaks as hard as he could have. He made a dive to the right as we were passing a parking lot for PetSmart, and I was thinking, "oh great... now we have to stop off here." He still hadn't slowed down enough, and he was trying not to take the corner too sharply. He wound up going across to the left side of the parking lot entrance (wrong side of the road) and continued on driving off of the road.

We were heading into a big area that looked like it was about 3 feet lower than the road, and there had been some recent construction going on there. Mike thought the water was only about 6 inches deep or so, but as I saw that we were heading to it, I knew differently. I knew that it was deep. Really deep. We hit the water, and we immediately sank. It happened too fast for me to even say anything to Mike to avoid it. Everyone started yelling. The car was sinking so fast in the muddy water, and I could see the light fading as we went deeper and deeper.

I could feel the pressure in the car increasing, and I knew it would only be a matter of time before something happened and the car filled with a water. I had a thought that we needed to act quickly and get out all at once, but at the same time, I knew that to coordinate everyone and get everyone to go all at once, was going to be tough, and once we accomplished it, we were going to be down too deep to make it to the surface alive anyway. I remember pushing against the door, and I could tell it was going to be incredibly difficult to open. I knew that we were going to die right there, all together. The feeling of the fear, the loss of Em, dying with Em, and the increasing pressure in the car woke me up.

The Traitor Green M&M

[To start, in this dream, there's a bit of uncertainty as to whether I was present with the characters of the dream (at least in the beginning), or if I was a formless entity watching everything, or if I was actually one of the characters (ie, if I was an M&M). There seems to be a different feel at different times.]

I started out, and I was at the tribal base of the yellow M&Ms. These M&Ms were like the animated ones that run around on the commercials. They were about knee high to me, and were mostly face, arms, and legs. They really were quite tribe like. I don't know how to describe it, but they weren't nation like. It wasn't teams. They were tribes. They were families, and each color was it's own tribe.

I started out in the yellow camp. They were in a fortress that was at the end of a kind of a valley. I don't think it was a true valley, but kind of like a valley between two forests. The trees kind of created walls that ran all the way down to the entrance of the fortress of the yellow tribe. Inside of the fortress where I started out, there were several canals. The whole floor of the place was made of stone, and it was surrounded by stone walls. The canals were all filled with running water, but they weren't too terribly deep. I think they were deep enough that I could stand in them and only have the water MAYBE waist high, but they were too deep for the M&Ms. They were laid out almost like a maze that was supposed to hinder travel around, but for me they were no problem because I could just step over them.

I was there with one of the yellow M&Ms, talking briefly with it, and somehow I saw it's color change from yellow to green. I realized that this one was a spy of some sort. I kind of have this feeling that it was spying for "good" reasons (to find a way to ease the tension between the tribes) rather than for "bad" reasons (to find a way to attack the other tribes) When I saw the color of this one change from yellow to green, so did some of the other yellow M&Ms. They realized that this one was a traitor, and they wound up making us leave. The way that we left was by going through the front gate, but somehow the front gate was up on the balcony area of Pleasant Valley Church. I think that came in on the back/far side of the balcony (farthest from the pulpit in the front), and so the area that was actually the balcony was what we entered in to.

The balcony area was where the red M&Ms had their fortress. They saw that we were from a different tribe, and so they, too, had us to leave and saw us as traitors. This time when we left, we left over the edge of the balcony, and down into the main area of the sanctuary below. Down in there is where the fortress of the green M&Ms were. It was similar to the one of the yellow tribe, having the canals of water and such. The green M&Ms were upset with us, too. Evidently this lone green M&M had decided to do this on his own rather than consult with the rest of his tribe, because he knew that to ask or suggest it, it would be refused. He felt that he really knew what he was doing, and that if he accomplished his task the way he wanted to, it would truly be helpful to all the tribes since they were warring with one another. I believe they also saw this one M&M as a traitor, and had us to leave.

When we left, we were in this room where it was still the sanctuary of the church, but it was now empty. There were some small and narrow walls up in different places to kind of create an illusion of a maze, but other than that, I could still see quite a bit of the far wall (the one behind the pulpit).

From here, I knew I was supposed to pick up the M&M and throw him to a specified spot on that far wall, approximately behind where the organist was supposed to sit. I picked him up and threw him, and in mid flight, it looked like everything was going to go okay, but all of a sudden he bounced off what seemed to be an invisible wall and flew off to the right. I couldn't figure out what was going on, and even though I wasn't supposed to, I walked down to the area where the organist was supposed to be.

Suddenly there were two other people there with me, and they were actually people. I know that one was a guy, but I'm not sure about the other. I think they probably both were, and in the dream I knew who they were, but in thinking about it now, I can't remember who they were. They were supposed to be close friends. By talking with them, we all somehow noticed that there were indeed invisible walls all around. I think they were partially visible from the back, and that's why we noticed them. Also, I think that when we were in front of them, because they weren't completely invisible from all sides, they rotated or something so that they matched our perspective so that we wouldn't see them. Knowing this, I thanked the friends and I went back towards the back of the sanctuary to the throwing position again, along with the green M&M.

I picked it up, and just before I threw it, I dodged my head and upper body around so that I could catch the edges of the invisible walls. The walls seemed to move and react to my eye positioning, but doing so took them a brief moment, so I could just make out where the edges of the walls were. Then, knowing where they were, I threw the M&M again, and I hit the spot/hole on the back wall that I needed to hit. Doing this was supposed to enable this whole vision that the green M&M had originally of peace among the tribes.

Yards of Ice Cream

I was on the football field for Fort Defiance, and there was an ice cream truck there. There was something about buying "yards of ice cream" like mom used to do for me when I was a kid. (?) It was being lined up on the football field in various lines depending on the type of ice cream it was.

Baking In the Key Room

I was in the Mercedes Key Room in Texas, and Marlene (from the Key Room when it was in Baltimore) was there. I went into the key cutting room, and there was an oven. I was baking things, such as cookies and other more "main course" sorts of dishes. I had to do them one at a time. At one point, Ron (Key and Lock supervisor) came in and was talking to me, and I was jumbling things around. I went back to cooking fully after he left.

At that point, I realized I had put some cookies in earlier, but forgot to set the timer. I opened the door, and it looked like they were just perfect. (Snicker Doodles, perhaps?) I got the oven mitt and pulled them out. The whole oven/work area was on the back wall facing Ron's office through the glass. Then a little later I went back out into the main area just past Roy's (from Mercedes) desk, and Marlene had moved her desk a bit. It was right in front of the instrument cluster programming station, but she have moved it towards Roy's desk about a foot.

There was something about jugs of water. A partially used one was under the front side of the desk, and she didn't see it after she moved her desk. Something about she was supposed to use that one before opening a new one, but because she didn't see it, she opened a new one anyway. I think Roy was scolding her because of it.

The Bathroom Underground

I was at work, but it was also some sort of combination of Mike's (former step-father) house, Grandmamma's house, and Pleasant Valley Church. I was discussing with a couple of women about needing to go to the bathroom, but not wanting John (Mercedes PDC manager) to see me going since I had just been recently. They mentioned something to me about taking the secret way to the bathroom. I asked them how to do that, and so they showed me.

We went down this hallway that came around to a place that looked like the back porch of Mike's house, and we went down into the basement. There was a tunnel in the basement, and it wound up going to another place that was a lot like the basement of Grandmamma's house. We came up out of it, and the bathroom that I was supposed to use was the one there off of the dining room. We went back to work, and it was like we had actually never left.

There was a bit of discussion about how the secret pathway had to do with going back into the choir room of the church and going through one of the secret doors in order to get into that tunnel. I think that John was actually around, and so I wound up going the normal way down to the basement of the church, and I went into the men's room right there at the bottom of the stairs. And actually, when I came out again, the blond guy Dave (maintenance guy at apartment in Savannah, GA) was going in and keeping the door open, and I think I went up into the parking lot of the Villas as if I were leaving home and going home at the same time. (leaving home because of the bathroom was supposed to be at the apartment, but going home because I was still kind of at work, and I was leaving here to go out and go back home.

Medieval Japanese War

I was in Japan, and I was in this valley that was between to heavily wooded mountains, but the valley itself was not wooded. It had lots of rolling hills and rocks, but no trees on the floor of the valley. There was a big war going on, or rather, it was SUPPOSED to be going on. It seemed that there was a tense hiatus where not a lot was happening.

I don't remember everything that was going on, but there was something about a woman and her daughter. The woman was about 45 or so, and the daughter was closer to my age (25 or so) I remember that there was something about them that was evil to me. They were trying to ambush or sabotage me in some way, but I don't remember how. I walked down to the south end of the valley, and they were near me a lot of the time. I was keeping my eye on them to make sure that they didn't do anything to me. I was also looking for a chance to strike at them when they didn't expect it.

Finally at one point when we were down at the far end of the valley, and all the other warriors had gone into hiding on opposite sides of the valley in the trees, I turned quickly, and the swords/knives that I had were somehow spinning like helicopter blades. I thrust forward and I caught the woman under the ribs on her left side. I remember the feeling of pushing the blade in. I think I also got the daughter with the other one, or I did it right after impaling the mother. It was almost as if neither one really seemed phased by this. They weren't doing much of anything but watching me as I did it.

I realized that I hadn't killed them, and so I stabbed at them both again. I got them again in roughly the same places, and still not much of anything was going on with them. I suddenly had a feeling that I had messed up really badly, and these women weren't evil after all. I felt a huge wave a guilt, and rather than help them at this point, I felt it was better to finish them off. I didn't want them to remember, and I didn't want to have to admit I had been wrong in attacking them. I took more stabs at them, but the dream ended before either of them were dead.

Mowing, Motorcycles, and Vending Machines

I started out at the Pleasant Valley Church, and I was on a lawn mower. I was mowing around the perimeter of the sidewalk that ran around the church. For some reason, when I wanted to mow, where the parking lot pavement normally was, it was all fresh green grass, and so I was mowing on the OUTER perimeter of the sidewalk.

I was following someone else, and when we got to the side entrance of the church (around by the cemetery. The one that I was used to using), whoever it was decided that I wasn't supposed to follow them anymore. So I turned around and went back towards the front of the church. As I did, I was looking where we had already mowed, and I decided to go back over some spots because we had missed them.

Then as I got near the main entrance, I decided to go across the driveway and mow the area just to the right of the main entrance to the parking lot. (on the left if you were actually driving in towards the church) I was mowing around, and the grass was very tall (6 or 8 inches, and had begun to seed). I made one round, and I was coming around starting the second.

There was a tree right off from the side of the parking lot entrance on the side I was mowing, and when I passed under it the second time, I felt something wet hit the top backside of my head. I thought it was a drop of water from the tree, but when I put my hand back to wipe it off, and I brought it around to look at it, it turned out it was white bird poop. I decided to go inside and wash it off, so I took off towards the front of the church. Roy (from Mercedes) was there, and he was just getting ready to go in. I called out to him to hold the door, and so he did. I went in through the Narthex and into the men's bathroom.

While I was in there, I guess it was break time or something, and one or two other people showed up. I was washing my hands and talking to someone who was a cross between Nick (former step-brother) and Philip (from Mercedes). We talked for a bit while I was washing my hands and he was doing whatever.

While we were talking, Roy came in and was talking to us about iPods. Evidently we shipped them out from the key department, and people were having problems with them springing apart. He showed me one that had come apart, and I said, "wow!" while I examined it. I was supposed to put it back together, and it seems that somehow I knew how to. I never got around to washing off the back of my head. Just my hands.

Then we left the bathroom, and I went outside to mow again. For some reason I got sidetracked, and I never actually got started. I think I realized it was time to go home soon, so I wound up getting my stuff together and going back inside. I approached Roy's desk, and I heard some familiar music playing. Evidently there was a CD I had lent to him or made a copy of for him, and he really enjoyed it, so he ripped it and put it onto his iPod. I don't know how I was able to hear it, but I could.

Then I grabbed a big box of stuff (I don't know what was in it. I just know it was mine) and I was carrying it horizontally. (it was one of the 2 instrument cluster boxes. Normally we have them up on end, but this time I was carrying it flat.) I went and waited in line with the others to leave. Somehow we weren't actually supposed to be leaving yet, but we were all waiting in line anyway. I was behind Chip (from Mercedes), but I remember thinking it was funny/ridiculous because he had let his hair grow out, and it was all nasty and greasy looking, and he couldn't grow any on the top of his head anyway.

Then Ron (supervisor at Mercedes) came out of his office (down near the side entrance to the church) and saw us all standing there. I don't think that he really wanted to let us go, but he decided to anyway. I think he made us agree to come in early on Monday. (this was either Friday or Saturday) We did promise, and then we were allowed to leave.

I got sidetracked and had to situate everything that I was carrying, so the people behind me went around me and left. Finally I was on my way, and I was following Josh (big guy from school) and Lisa (girl who always wore headbands in elementary school) out of the building. They were holding hands, and I remember thinking that Lisa looked pretty good because she had put on some weight and he butt was bigger now.

We all went out the door and into the parking lot. A lot of people were already in their cars and leaving. I got to mine, got in, and went towards the back entrance to the parking lot to leave. I turned right as if I were going towards Stephen's (friend from school) house. Part way down, past the house with the cemetery next to it, the road became a "service road" to interstate 81. There were a lot of stop lights, and I kept running them because the brakes and tires on my car were bad. I was afraid I'd be pulled over, but no cops ever showed up.

I got down to the bottom of all these hills and I was just about to pull onto I-81 when I decided I didn't want to be on the highway with bad breaks and tires. So, I turned around and went back up the hill. I was having trouble going uphill, so I got the Harley-Davidson motorcycle out of my trunk (!) and folded up my car and put that on the back of the engine area under the seat of the motorcycle.

I kept taking off too strongly, and so I kept popping a wheelie. Partway up the hill I came across Russ (from Mercedes), who had pulled off the side of 81 and was talking to me over the guardrail. He was admiring the bike, and I was still hitting the gas. I popped a wheelie right there, and he was amazed I could do that on a Harley. Because he was so amazed, I decided to keep it going, and I finally just bolted right up all the hills. When I got up to the top (which was now a lot like Rt 11 by Rocky's Antique Mall), I turned around and decided to give it another try going down hill.

I pulled off into Rocky's parking lot, and I switched again from the Harley to the car. The wheels on the car were small, slick and soft as I gave them a squeeze, but I decided to stop off at Deno's to get air in the tires. It was on the way down the first hill, so I played it cautiously and went to the other side of the road and then slowly drifted across and to the right, and right into the parking lot. I pulled straight to the back where I saw the air pump at.

All of a sudden Nick/Philip was with me again. We went to the vending machine area (because there was an "air vending machine") and it was in a small room with three or four machines around the walls. There were two women, and blond and a brunette, who were sitting at a small round table and eating and smoking. They worked for Deno's, and so when we got there, they got up and left.

There was one vending machine for flags that was off to my right. There was one for panties that was in front of me and to my right. There was one that was like a combination photo booth and one of those claw grabber games. And then the last one on the left was completely empty, and I knew that was the air pump.

When I was almost ready to go over to the air pump, Nick/Philip starting putting money into the panties machine and pulling out panties one by one. He was throwing them over his shoulder at me and laughing. He thought it would be funny for me to be caught with all these panties. I thought otherwise. I threw them to the ground and went over to the air machine.

I pulled out a handful of change and was trying to get 40 cents. I couldn't quite figure out what I needed to get out of the pile of change for that, but at the same time, the change had me a bit mesmerized. There were a lot of rare and older coins in my pocket. There were a number of Susan B. Anthony dollars, and one or two of them were gold (!) ones. There was also some other old/rare change there, and I never really got around to putting any into the machine.

All of a sudden Nick/Philip freaked out and sounded like he was going to be sick. I turned around, and he was at the photo booth/claw game machine behind me. He was babbling on about something that got left in the machine that was really gross. At first I got this feeling that it was a body part, or an entire body. Somehow I realized that wasn't the case, and only then he was saying something about rotting fruit that was under there that someone had just thrown in there. Somehow I also got a picture of it being a rotten foot in there, but I never saw anything. About the time that we had decided to get out of there, the dream ended.

Dalai Lama at Staples

Em (wife) and I were shopping around on a rainy day, and we decided to go to Staples for something. As soon as we got there, somehow it became obvious that the Dali Lama was coming. I don't remember if someone told us, if we read it somewhere, or if we just knew it. Either way, he showed up shortly after with a brigade of people who were kind of like body guards, but also kind of like lawyers.

When he saw me, we greeted each other like old friends. We gave each other a big hug and patted each other on the back. When he saw Emily, they greeted each other the same way, except he called out the name, "Elizabeth!" when he saw her. Somehow I knew that Em and he had met before, like one of them had taken care of the other. (I think she had taken care of him as a child or something)

We walked around Staples for a bit while we talked. I don't remember what we were talking about, but at one point I was going to write something down for him because I wasn't saying it (pronouncing it) clearly enough for him to understand me. When I got the small piece of paper and started to write (I don't remember what the word was) Em became upset at me because she thought I was treating him badly by doing it this way rather than trying to pronounce it in a way that he would understand. He tried to reassure her that it was fine, but Em didn't want to listen. After getting this word taken care of, we walked around and talked a bit more. Pretty soon it was time for him to go, so we gave him another hug and he left with his group.
