The dream started out somewhere out in the woods, or in a wooded area. There was some sort of body of water around, like a small pond or river, but it was more like a moat that ran around this little area. These woods weren't out in the open, but kind of like in a rock cavern. When things were first starting out, I was around towards the back of this area, off to the right. There was some sort of table or something nearby, and I saw this body laying on the floor. I was upset because I didn't want to see it, and no one had warned me it was there.
I came back around, and there was a woman there on my side of the moat. She seemed scruffy and kind of redneck like. Evidently she had killed this man. Somehow this was supposed to be like a movie, and the one that comes to mind is Texas Chainsaw Massacre, even though it was really nothing like it.
There was some back and forth stuff going on, and at some point, this other guy showed up. He was supposed to be with this girl, and somehow involved in the killing. It seems like I kept going back and forth, trying to talk to these two people, kind of like I wanted them to let me go, but also to turn themselves in, but nothing much seemed to work.
Finally a cop/sheriff showed up across the moat, and was trying to talk them over. They still wouldn't go, and for some reason, even though the water was only about 5-10 feet wide, the cop wouldn't come over and get them. There were several exchanges of words, but it was like the girl kept looking for a way to keep the cop over there, even though he was making no effort to come over to our side. At one point, there was something about the woman throwing something into the water, kind of like a fishing bob or something, but it was also supposed to be a part of her.
Unfortunately the dream kept going, but I cannot remember any more until much later, which is basically a new and different dream. There was something in between about getting out, going to mom's old house (grandmamma's house), but being in or around one of the barns. There was something strange and supernatural going on (kind of like the thread/pants spin thing a little later), and after that is when I actually went into the house and had the remainder of the dream.
I was at mom's old house (grandmamma's house), and there were a bunch of relatives there. I was in the living room, but something about it was changing. It was like it started out being more similar to the lower level of Borders bookstore in the Annapolis Mall, but it kind of morphed and solidified into the living room. I was on the right side of the living room (if entering from the dining room) just inside the french doors. The sofa was right there, and I was there with mom, Matthew (brother), and Aunt Irene. There were a bunch of other people at the house because of some big event going on (like Christmas or something).
At one point, I found something like a big knitting needle, about two feet long, and three spools of tan thread. I somehow attached them to the needle, but somehow they didn't unravel. Aunt Irene then told me about putting the needle tip on the floor, and if it starts spinning, then that was just like how they "knew for Sean." (my cousin) I'm not sure what they knew, but it was supposed to be a good thing. So I put the needle tip on the rug, and off it spun. It was actually going really fast, and somehow I knew that it didn't go that fast for Sean.
I turned away for a bit to show aunt Irene, and the next thing I know is that I have a new pair of khaki pants in hand. I showed them to her, thinking that it was pretty cool that had happened, but I noticed that the pants were short and not quite done. I put the needle and the pants back on the rug, but they didn't want to spin anymore, so they must have been done.
I then showed them to Em (wife), thinking that she could wear them for Matthew's graduation. She said that she couldn't because they were too long. I held them up to myself, and they were indeed too long. I told her we could hem them, but she declined. I was trying to figure out what to do with them and what it all meant when my alarm went off and woke me up.
