Track Practice and Ice Cubes

I was at my old high school, and I was supposed to be there for track and cross country running practice. It was a bit of an odd thing because I knew I had already graduated years ago, but I was there anyway.

So I wound up leaving the gymnasium area with some of the people from school that I ran track and cross country with, and we were running around the school grounds and various areas just beyond. It was strange because there was a lot to the surrounding areas. It was almost like an amusement park or city park type of area rather than the open fields and hills that I knew in waking life.

As I ran, I found I was able to run using huge strides, which allowed me to go very fast, and I was able to do it for long periods of time. I was surprised that I wasn't getting tired out like I thought I would, but I just kept going with it and enjoyed it.

There were others that were faster than me and others that were slower, and the path that we were running wound back on itself in various places. So I wound up passing people that were running the opposite direction from me because they had either already looped around or I had. The path seemed to go through these areas where there were very tall pine trees on the side of a hill, and there were gravel roads or dirt paths for us to run on. There were also strange features around, kind of like large fountains or something.

After we were done running, I wound up making my way back to the locker room. While I was in there, I wound up having a great need for ice cubes. I think I was throwing them or something, but I just know it seemed like I really needed them.

I then left for a while, like I either went to class or went home or something, but then I came back do the gymnasium area again later for P.E. class. I hadn't changed yet and I wound up asking some of the girls that were there in the gym already about the ice cubes. They started kind of joking with me and making fun of me for needing the ice cubes. They weren't doing it in a mean way. It was like we were all good friends and they were just picking on me, and I was laughing about it, too.

It turned out that the only place there was an ice machine was in the girls' locker room. I guess I didn't really see that as being a big deal, and so I wound up going in there to look for it. There were some girls in there just standing or sitting around and talking. No one was changing or anything. They laughed when they saw me in there, and I was acting goofy like I was trying not to look at them even though I knew they weren't undressed at all.

I eventually found the ice machine by the bathroom, and I think the dream ended before I even got out of the locker room.

Elevator Drop

I was on the ground floor of a very tall building. It was a skyscraper type of building of metal and glass, and it was about 75 stories tall. I got into an elevator with a group of people and went to the top floor. There was some stuff that happened and I wound back up at the ground floor, but I don't remember what any of that stuff was.

I wound up getting into the elevator again. I was with Em and about five other people. There was a small child, a woman in her mid to late thirties, an elderly woman, and a man of no real description. I don't know anything about the last person/people.

We were heading to the top floor again, and the elevator was moving upwards very quickly. Somewhere around two thirds of the way up (around the 50th floor) the brakes on the elevator kicked in and we screeched to a sudden halt. I knew that something was wrong before we even stopped. There was also a bit of a grinding/groaning sound as the elevator lurched.

I was facing towards the back of the elevator, and Em was somewhere behind me. I looked at the woman that was in her mid/late thirties. Her hair was a dirty blond color and fairly straight, and she had it held back with a plastic head band. She gave me this strange look that was a cross between rolling her eyes like this sort of thing always happened and a look of, "we're screwed because now we're going to fall to our deaths."

Just after looking at her, the elevator plummeted. It seemed to do so unnaturally fast, almost as if the same effort that the elevator uses to pull us to the top was now used to rocket us downward. I knew this was it and that we were all going to die.

I woke up with only a second or two until impact.

The Legend of Zelda: Secret of the Watch

There was a good deal of stuff that happened at the beginning of this dream that I don't remember, but the rest of this dream played out like a movie. I wasn't a participant, just an observer.

Link (the main character from the Legend of Zelda games) was in this area that was kind of desert like, but it was also like a town or a temple or something. He was in this valley type of area where there were sheer cliffs on either side (a couple of hundred feet apart or so) and about five stories tall. There were a few other people around, and it seems that he was looking for people to talk to. I'm not sure what he wanted to talk about, but I think it was related to his mission that he was either currently on or getting ready to go on. No one seemed to want to talk to him. Most of the people were older than him and seemed to be on business of their own, possibly relating to doing guard-like duties.

He eventually left this area and went exploring. I don't remember during this exploring adventure, but eventually he wound up under water. It was kind of strange in that he wasn't swimming underwater, but walking and climbing. It was either like he was just treating the water as if it was air and climbing around everything on the bottom and sides as if it were just out in the open, or he was in a series of tunnels that went through the water.

It turned out that the body of water was in a city. I'm not sure if it was a part of a river, a lake , a bay or something else, but it seemed pretty large and was right in the middle of a city. There was a ladder that went off the end of an old wooden dock and down into the water.

Link eventually found the ladder and climbed out. There were suddenly a number of people or creatures there with him (somewhere between six and ten) and they were supposed to be helping him out. I'm not sure if they came out of the water with him or not. They may have just been waiting there at the dock for him to show up.

After he got out of the water, he rested for a bit. Looking around, there was a big stone "feature" in the middle of the dock. It was almost like a representation of a "Casio Databank" watch that I used to have back in the late 80s, but without the strap:

The stone sculpture was about two feet long and three feet wide. Link lifted the portion where the buttons are on the front like it was a hood of a car, and when it opened, there were four pins inside. These were the spring-loaded pins that hold the wrist strap in place, but because there was no wrist strap, they were in here.

He realized that this was some sort of puzzle, and he needed to remove only certain pins in order for the puzzle to be solved. He thought about it for a while and then removed two of the pins. It caused a statue of a bird to show up. The statue changed quite a bit, but I'm not exactly sure how. I think it was changing to different kinds of birds, or the same bird in different stances.

Then things dissolved and Link grew up. It was evening time and he was wearing a tux. He now looked like the blind scientist from the movie "Contact", but he wasn't blind. Jennifer Connely was his date or girlfriend or wife, but I'm not sure which. She was walking around through the city and getting him to follow her. She was carrying something that looked like a brown paper bag of groceries.

Eventually she led him to the spot with the Casio Databank sculpture. He realized at that moment that while he had found the changing bird statue many years before, he never actually took it as his prize. I knew he needed to get it, and so he went at the puzzle again, but was unable to successfully complete it this time.

Apples at Sam's and Walmart

I was supposed to be at Sam's Club getting groceries. The store looked more like the warehouse I work in than it did any Sam's Club I've ever been in because it had an area that had a second tier that was still open to the main part of the warehouse.

I forget most of what was going on there, but I wound up getting a huge box of apples. The box was about three feet tall and four feet square. After I had gotten it, I was up on the second tier thinking about what I wanted to do with it. While I was there, I saw Lacey (from Work) and she was saying something to me about the apples. I think she was either telling me that I had way to many, what to do with them, or to be sure not to get any more.

After talking to her, I wound up leaving. I left the box of apples behind in the store because I didn't have enough room for them in my car. After I left I went to Walmart and I eventually wound up getting even more apples.

After I left Walmart, I wound up going back to Sam's, and it was when I got there that I realized that I had already purchased a huge box of apples there and I didn't need the ones I got at Walmart. I kept feeling like I didn't have any way out of my situation and I didn't know what I was going to do with all the apples or how I was going to get them home.

ASCII Powered Swords

I was out in the middle of this wooded area, and there was a river or stream near by. There were two people there, and though they were dressed in a contemporary way (khakhis or nice jeans, button-up or polo shirts) they were wielding swords. I'm not sure, but I may have been one of the people.

While they were sword fighting, they were in and around the river. Either the river was very shallow, or they were walking on water. I think there was a combination of the two.

During the fighting, the fighters started to "power up" their swords by using ASCII (alphanumeric and symbols) characters. One of them specifically used a "@", and it seemed to float out from the end of the sword, but it acted as if it was connected. There seemed to be some sort of glowing field around it that held it in place. Somehow these characters were supposed to make the swords stronger and the fighters better.

Unfortunately I don't know the outcome of the fight because the dream ended.

Gifts from Bryan

I'm not exactly sure how or where this one started, but I was out in this country area, and there were one or two large trees near by. I was there in my car, but I don't know why I was there. While I was there, Bryan (the guy from VA to stalked me nine years ago) showed up in his little blue CRX. Needless to say, I wasn't pleased to see him.

He had a round chocolate bundt cake with him, and he offered it to me. I was afraid of making him mad, so I took it and grudgingly thanked him. I think I was there with him for a bit longer. I didn't want to seem rude by wanting to leave, but at the same time I just wanted to get out of there. He kept offering me gifts, such as Nintendo GameCube games and controllers.

Eventually I was able to leave. I drove around through the country a bit. It seems there was a vague sense of getting out of the car every so often and looking around. There were lots of hills and trees and rivers/ponds around, and little bits of towns. It seemed like there was a lot around me, but at the same time it was fairly spread out.

I finally got back "home", which was a lot like a combination of Mike's (former step-father) house and my elementary school library. I was in this library type area, and Em (wife) was there. There was a TV setup just to the left of the door as I walked in, and there was either a bed or a sofa right in front of it, leaving about four feet of space between. It was on an old rickety TV stand that looked like it was made out of thin fiberboard, and it had the feel of being made in the 70s.

I sat down on the floor in front of the TV and talked to Em about what had happened. While doing so, we were eating the cake and trying out the games or controllers. I'm not sure if it was said, or if we were just thinking it, but we wondered how safe this stuff was. Was the cake poisoned? Was there something wrong with the games or controllers that was going to harm us or break our stuff? We had a feeling not to trust anything that came from Bryan, but at the same time he had been so nice this time around, and it didn't seem like he wanted to hurt us.

We didn't make a decision before I woke up.

Harry Potter and the Final Adventure

The beginning of the dream was very fuzzy. It was almost as if I had pre-dreamt parts of it as if trying to figure out what I wanted the story to be and trying out different things and then I used those parts later, effectively "redreaming" them and putting them into a more coherent context later.

In this pre-dreaming bit, I was in the fellowship hall area of Pleasant Valley Church as part of a class. There were people there that I knew from school, I think, such as Andy and Stephen and a few others. I think a woman was supposed to be teaching the class, but we never really got around to having the class happen. It seemed that I was in the kitchen of the church quite a bit talking to people during this time while waiting for class to begin. Then there was something about a secret door that only I could see, and going through it in such a way that, even thought it was right there with everyone else, no one saw me disappear through it. It also seems that there was something else that wasn't really involved with this particular scene that was pre-dreamt, but I'm not sure what it was. It may have been something about confronting aliens.

From there, the dream seemed to really begin. I had just finished reading the final Harry Potter book, which was a new one that was supposed to come after The Deathly Hallows. It was Harry Potter and the Final Adventure, aka book number 8. Shortly after I read it, I think I was supposed to be seeing the movie for it. In watching the movie, I was more a participant in the movie than a viewer. In fact, during most of it, I was Harry.

I was out in this area in the country, kind of like somewhere in rural Virginia, and there was a dirt road. On either side of it was a couple of mobile homes or very small houses. There were two on the opposite side of the road from me, and there was one on my side. I lived in the close one, and Ron and Hermione from the book lived in the two on the other side. We were out by the road talking, and we were getting ready to go to class.

We went to class, which happened to be in the Fellowship Hall and kitchen area of the Pleasant Valley Church in Weyers Cave, VA. There was a male teacher standing over near the water fountain in the far corner talking to either another teacher or a student. The man was fairly short and was wearing a black button-down shirt and black pants. His hair was also very black. The contrast made his face and hands stand out quite a bit, but he was looking down at a clip board or something. He was supposed to be someone that's fairly famous in waking life (an actor, I believe) but I don't know who he actually is.

The rest of the students were off to my right near the stage. There were about four rows of chairs that went all the way across in front of the stage, facing it, but the students were mostly standing and milling about. I think I briefly saw (and maybe even spoke to) Neville Longbottom (also from the HP series).

There was some sort of signal, perhaps from the teacher, signifying that class was to begin now. The students moved around and found their chairs, and I was sitting up in the front towards the left. Ron was to my left, and Hermione was to his left.

Just as we sat down, I saw a door to the left of the stage. It looked like it had just appeared out of nowhere, and as I looked around, I realized that no one else could see it. I mentioned it to Ron and Hermione, but neither of them could see it, either. I knew I had to get through that door, but I wasn't exactly sure how I was supposed to do it. Even though I could see it, I think I knew that it wouldn't open unless I found the "key". I also knew that if I tried to open it without this key, then it would suddenly become visible to everyone else and all hell would break loose with people wondering where it came from and what the heck I was doing trying to go through it.

Then it dawned on me that Ron needed to control it with his voice, making a b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b sound (like how kids make the sound of an engine). At first he didn't believe me, but I convinced him to try. He did the sound a little bit, and the door opened a little bit and there was a bright light that came out from behind it. I told him it was working, and he kept doing it and it opened more and more.

I got up and walked towards the door. As I got to the door, Ron started faltering because he didn't really think he was doing anything since he couldn't see the door and was feeling stupid making the sound. As he faltered, I could tell that the door was starting to become visible to everyone else in the room, starting at the bottom of the door. I encouraged him to keep going, and he picked back up and everything went better again, although opening the door felt like I was opening one of these heavy doors with a closer on it that held it tightly shut. I got it yanked open and disappeared behind it.

I got through and started down the stairs, which looped around like a stair well to the left. Right in front of me before I turned left the first time was a translucent window that let in light but I couldn't see what was outside. The whole area around me was white. I went left and down the the stairs, and just as I got to the bottmo, Ron and hermione came in behind me. I was kind of surprised because I didn't think that they could see the door and be able to make their way through.

We were walking along down a long while hallway that was very brightly lit. The whole hallway kept going up and down like a series of hills. Ralph, a big "mountain man" type of guy that I used to work with at Target was there, and he was talking about helping us out. We went to the end of the hallway and turned right.

Then I was walking along the road past Crosby trucking in Mount Sidney, and I was talking to Hermione about needing to find out what was going on with the aliens. I'm not sure where I got the idea about aliens from, but she didn't know where we were supposed to find out that sort of information, but somehow I did.

The road came out a little to the left of where it normally does in waking life (by about a half a mile or so) and I turned right and walked a little way up Rt. 11 and crossed the street to the couple of little houses that are right there. I wanted to talk to an old Asian lady that reminded me a lot of a generic grandmother. We were excited to see one another, and I asked her about the aliens. She told me about them, and then I gave her a quick kiss and thanked her. I noticed that her breath smelled very smoky, but I hadn't been expecting that at all.

Hermione and I left and turned left and walked back up Rt. 11 towards the middle of Mount Sidney. We went into a store kind of like the Kite Loft in Ocean City, MD. There were lots of souvenir type of items around, and the floor had various levels to it. There were little ramps and stuff that went up and down, and various parts of the floor were fenced off with waist-high white railing where it was higher than the adjacent floor. The high parts were only different by about two feet from the low areas.

I'm not sure where I got it from, but I had this thin rhomboid shaped mirror that was about the size of a finger. I knew it was only a piece of a larger whole mirror, but I didn't know where that larger mirror might be. I held the mirror up to my eye and looked through it, almost as if it were more of a prism instead of a mirror. As I looked around, I was expecting to see the aliens around. I didn't see them, but I did notice that any woman that was around, it made her lipstick look all skewed, even to the point of looking like it was pointing off of their faces.

After this, though, I did start seeing the aliens. They were moving around freely because they knew they couldn't be seen, but then there was a sudden rush of movement as they realized that I could see them with the mirror. I didn't really see them do anything except move kind of quickly, and then all of a sudden I was room that was a lot like the classroom/fellowship hall from the church at the beginning of the dream, only it was different. It was darker and scarier.

I realized that the aliens had used my ability to see them with the rhomboid mirror, and they wound up pulling me into this place that was like a parallel world of the one I was used to. The light was pale and blue, and there were something like torches on the walls lighting the place, and they had blue fire in them.

Everyone from the original class was standing around and watching us. I realized at this point that Ron and Hermione were with me again, and they were looking around at everyone there. Many of the people there in the class seemed angry and agitated, watching us with a feeling like loathing, like we had wronged them badly in the past, perhaps by leaving the original class without them.

Then as I was watching everyone, there was almost a wave that rippled through the air, and everyone, including Ron and Hermione, split into two versions of themselves. One of each person was supposed to be young/good/pure, and the other one was old/evil/impure. (the age difference wasn't huge, but just enough to make them look a bit more worn for the wear) There was a little white haired woman there that was around 70, and even though she had split with her evil side, she was having trouble figuring out if she was supposed to group with the pure versions of people because she was much older than they were. A number of people went over to her and consoled her and put their arms around her and brought her over with them.

Then everyone formed two lines. The pure people formed a line across in front of me, all facing me, and the impure people formed a line at a 90 degree angle from the first line and to my right. The two came together like two sides of a square, and I was standing in the middle looking at them all. All at once everyone fell straight back and lay on the floor. There wasn't a single bounce, yell, or out of sync movement. It was as if everyone was strapped onto a board and hinge, and the hinge bent backwards and stopped immediately at the floor.

At this point I had to think of what to do to get out of here. I started over at the left end of the pure line of people and walked along by their feet towards the impure people. Then I turned right and rather than walking on the floor, I started walking on the shins of the impure people. There were many gasps and sharp inhales as I stepped on them, but no one yelled or really said anything. While I was doing that, I think Ron and Hermione were talking to me a bit saying something about how this was the key: to walk on everyone's shins and think about how to get out of there.

When I stepped off the last person, I wound up in this very dark room that was lit by a single light in the middle. It reminded me of a dark attic. During this time, I was no longer Harry, but instead I was watching him, Ron and Hermione. There was something kind of like a treasure chest there in the middle of the room, along with a dresser with a vanity mirror. They were talking in front of the mirror about how to get out of there. Harry went over to the wall and started to put his hand through it. As he did, I felt it, and I wound up seeing it from his point of view again. Ron and Hermione were able to do the same and follow me through.

The next room that we were in was a bit brighter than the last, but it still wasn't extremely bright. On my right, the wall was a huge moving painting of a huge river and waterfall with a catwalk over it. The river was flowing to my right, and the waterfall was viewed from the side like a profile. I knew we had to figure out a way to get through this painting kind of like we did the previous wall, but I wasn't sure how we were going to do it.

I had a lantern in my right hand, and I moved closer to the painting and looked closely at the moving frothy water near the top edge of the waterfall. While I was looking, Ron came over and was looking with me. He pointed at something in the water, and as he did, I saw a reverse imprint of a hand, palm out, pushing out from the other side of the painting. Ron and I realized that this was his own hand from the "real" world and that this was our final way out.

He reached up and tried to make contact with the hand, but every time he did, it would disappear when he got within an inch of the painting. Hermione came up and tried the same thing, and it worked exactly the same for her. As she started to move her hand closer again to bring the other hand to the surface, I grabbed hold of her wrist. I realized that in order to keep the "real" hand from receding, I had to lead them in their actions to touch it.

I pushed her hand forward towards the painting, and when her hand made contact with the other, the other disappeared, but now she was allowed into the painting. I kept reaching in with her wrist in my hand, and Hermione started shrinking and had the appearance of moving farther away. I realized I was reaching into the painting as if it were a real 3D space, and I place her on the catwalk.

I then did the same with Ron. I got him near the catwalk and let go to drop him onto it, but I missed. He fell into the water and started rushing downstream towards the waterfall. Just as he went over the waterfall, I reached in and grabbed him and pulled him back up to the catwalk again. He and Hermione were fine, and they were waiting for me to come through before walking up the catwalk and out the back side of the picture.

I tried reaching through the painting, but when I did, it was more like the way I had reached through the first wall. I wasn't moving into the 3D picture anymore, but I was now just sticking my arm into the wall. I could feel the wall and floor of the next room over, and I flopped my hand around a bit to see if I could feel my way out of there. While I was doing so, it occurred to me that someone could be over there and they probably see my hand, and I wondered what they were thinking about it.

The next thing I know is that we were back in the classroom, and everything was fine. We had gotten out, and though it never really involved anyone else, they somehow knew what had happened, and they were really glad to see us back.

We left there and went back home. We were outside by that dirt road again, but because of this event, we had somehow become very rich. Ron and Hermione had picked up all sorts of old cars (caddillacs, pickups, etc from th 70s) and had them all fixed up into mint condition and every single one of them was painted white. Ron and Hermione were also all dressed up in white. Ron had a white suit on that reminded me of "Boss Hogg" from the Dukes of Hazzard, and Hermione had on a white frilly dress. We were going around and looking at all the cars, and while we were doing so, there was another one being delivered.

As I was looking at all the cars, I realized that on every single license plate, they all had my [real waking life] initials somewhere in them. I asked them about it, and they said it was in reverence of me and the way that I had helped them through "the final task."

While we were talking, Neville came out from somewhere and was walking around and talking. I think there were more people around than I had thought because he wasn't talking to us, but I know he was talking to someone. He was now very dirty and appeared to be very poor. (He reminded me of the mechanic in the movie U-Turn) He had held a teaching job at Hogwarts, but he had quit and claimed to be happy to be poor and unemployed now, although we could tell he didn't mean it. We wound up talking to him and convincing him to change his mind and go back to teaching.

After this, there was almost something like a montage that was supposed to show various things that had happened during the course of the dream, like a recap at the end of the movie or something. There was a scene that came up that although I seemed to recognize it, I don't recall it actually happening now that it's over. We were in a cave with Neville, and there was a small dragon there that was about the size of a medium sized dog. Neville was handling it as if it were a pet rather than a wild animal.

After this, I saw the end credits roll. While the music played and the credits rolled, my alarm went off and woke me up.
