Harry Potter and the Final Adventure

The beginning of the dream was very fuzzy. It was almost as if I had pre-dreamt parts of it as if trying to figure out what I wanted the story to be and trying out different things and then I used those parts later, effectively "redreaming" them and putting them into a more coherent context later.

In this pre-dreaming bit, I was in the fellowship hall area of Pleasant Valley Church as part of a class. There were people there that I knew from school, I think, such as Andy and Stephen and a few others. I think a woman was supposed to be teaching the class, but we never really got around to having the class happen. It seemed that I was in the kitchen of the church quite a bit talking to people during this time while waiting for class to begin. Then there was something about a secret door that only I could see, and going through it in such a way that, even thought it was right there with everyone else, no one saw me disappear through it. It also seems that there was something else that wasn't really involved with this particular scene that was pre-dreamt, but I'm not sure what it was. It may have been something about confronting aliens.

From there, the dream seemed to really begin. I had just finished reading the final Harry Potter book, which was a new one that was supposed to come after The Deathly Hallows. It was Harry Potter and the Final Adventure, aka book number 8. Shortly after I read it, I think I was supposed to be seeing the movie for it. In watching the movie, I was more a participant in the movie than a viewer. In fact, during most of it, I was Harry.

I was out in this area in the country, kind of like somewhere in rural Virginia, and there was a dirt road. On either side of it was a couple of mobile homes or very small houses. There were two on the opposite side of the road from me, and there was one on my side. I lived in the close one, and Ron and Hermione from the book lived in the two on the other side. We were out by the road talking, and we were getting ready to go to class.

We went to class, which happened to be in the Fellowship Hall and kitchen area of the Pleasant Valley Church in Weyers Cave, VA. There was a male teacher standing over near the water fountain in the far corner talking to either another teacher or a student. The man was fairly short and was wearing a black button-down shirt and black pants. His hair was also very black. The contrast made his face and hands stand out quite a bit, but he was looking down at a clip board or something. He was supposed to be someone that's fairly famous in waking life (an actor, I believe) but I don't know who he actually is.

The rest of the students were off to my right near the stage. There were about four rows of chairs that went all the way across in front of the stage, facing it, but the students were mostly standing and milling about. I think I briefly saw (and maybe even spoke to) Neville Longbottom (also from the HP series).

There was some sort of signal, perhaps from the teacher, signifying that class was to begin now. The students moved around and found their chairs, and I was sitting up in the front towards the left. Ron was to my left, and Hermione was to his left.

Just as we sat down, I saw a door to the left of the stage. It looked like it had just appeared out of nowhere, and as I looked around, I realized that no one else could see it. I mentioned it to Ron and Hermione, but neither of them could see it, either. I knew I had to get through that door, but I wasn't exactly sure how I was supposed to do it. Even though I could see it, I think I knew that it wouldn't open unless I found the "key". I also knew that if I tried to open it without this key, then it would suddenly become visible to everyone else and all hell would break loose with people wondering where it came from and what the heck I was doing trying to go through it.

Then it dawned on me that Ron needed to control it with his voice, making a b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b-b sound (like how kids make the sound of an engine). At first he didn't believe me, but I convinced him to try. He did the sound a little bit, and the door opened a little bit and there was a bright light that came out from behind it. I told him it was working, and he kept doing it and it opened more and more.

I got up and walked towards the door. As I got to the door, Ron started faltering because he didn't really think he was doing anything since he couldn't see the door and was feeling stupid making the sound. As he faltered, I could tell that the door was starting to become visible to everyone else in the room, starting at the bottom of the door. I encouraged him to keep going, and he picked back up and everything went better again, although opening the door felt like I was opening one of these heavy doors with a closer on it that held it tightly shut. I got it yanked open and disappeared behind it.

I got through and started down the stairs, which looped around like a stair well to the left. Right in front of me before I turned left the first time was a translucent window that let in light but I couldn't see what was outside. The whole area around me was white. I went left and down the the stairs, and just as I got to the bottmo, Ron and hermione came in behind me. I was kind of surprised because I didn't think that they could see the door and be able to make their way through.

We were walking along down a long while hallway that was very brightly lit. The whole hallway kept going up and down like a series of hills. Ralph, a big "mountain man" type of guy that I used to work with at Target was there, and he was talking about helping us out. We went to the end of the hallway and turned right.

Then I was walking along the road past Crosby trucking in Mount Sidney, and I was talking to Hermione about needing to find out what was going on with the aliens. I'm not sure where I got the idea about aliens from, but she didn't know where we were supposed to find out that sort of information, but somehow I did.

The road came out a little to the left of where it normally does in waking life (by about a half a mile or so) and I turned right and walked a little way up Rt. 11 and crossed the street to the couple of little houses that are right there. I wanted to talk to an old Asian lady that reminded me a lot of a generic grandmother. We were excited to see one another, and I asked her about the aliens. She told me about them, and then I gave her a quick kiss and thanked her. I noticed that her breath smelled very smoky, but I hadn't been expecting that at all.

Hermione and I left and turned left and walked back up Rt. 11 towards the middle of Mount Sidney. We went into a store kind of like the Kite Loft in Ocean City, MD. There were lots of souvenir type of items around, and the floor had various levels to it. There were little ramps and stuff that went up and down, and various parts of the floor were fenced off with waist-high white railing where it was higher than the adjacent floor. The high parts were only different by about two feet from the low areas.

I'm not sure where I got it from, but I had this thin rhomboid shaped mirror that was about the size of a finger. I knew it was only a piece of a larger whole mirror, but I didn't know where that larger mirror might be. I held the mirror up to my eye and looked through it, almost as if it were more of a prism instead of a mirror. As I looked around, I was expecting to see the aliens around. I didn't see them, but I did notice that any woman that was around, it made her lipstick look all skewed, even to the point of looking like it was pointing off of their faces.

After this, though, I did start seeing the aliens. They were moving around freely because they knew they couldn't be seen, but then there was a sudden rush of movement as they realized that I could see them with the mirror. I didn't really see them do anything except move kind of quickly, and then all of a sudden I was room that was a lot like the classroom/fellowship hall from the church at the beginning of the dream, only it was different. It was darker and scarier.

I realized that the aliens had used my ability to see them with the rhomboid mirror, and they wound up pulling me into this place that was like a parallel world of the one I was used to. The light was pale and blue, and there were something like torches on the walls lighting the place, and they had blue fire in them.

Everyone from the original class was standing around and watching us. I realized at this point that Ron and Hermione were with me again, and they were looking around at everyone there. Many of the people there in the class seemed angry and agitated, watching us with a feeling like loathing, like we had wronged them badly in the past, perhaps by leaving the original class without them.

Then as I was watching everyone, there was almost a wave that rippled through the air, and everyone, including Ron and Hermione, split into two versions of themselves. One of each person was supposed to be young/good/pure, and the other one was old/evil/impure. (the age difference wasn't huge, but just enough to make them look a bit more worn for the wear) There was a little white haired woman there that was around 70, and even though she had split with her evil side, she was having trouble figuring out if she was supposed to group with the pure versions of people because she was much older than they were. A number of people went over to her and consoled her and put their arms around her and brought her over with them.

Then everyone formed two lines. The pure people formed a line across in front of me, all facing me, and the impure people formed a line at a 90 degree angle from the first line and to my right. The two came together like two sides of a square, and I was standing in the middle looking at them all. All at once everyone fell straight back and lay on the floor. There wasn't a single bounce, yell, or out of sync movement. It was as if everyone was strapped onto a board and hinge, and the hinge bent backwards and stopped immediately at the floor.

At this point I had to think of what to do to get out of here. I started over at the left end of the pure line of people and walked along by their feet towards the impure people. Then I turned right and rather than walking on the floor, I started walking on the shins of the impure people. There were many gasps and sharp inhales as I stepped on them, but no one yelled or really said anything. While I was doing that, I think Ron and Hermione were talking to me a bit saying something about how this was the key: to walk on everyone's shins and think about how to get out of there.

When I stepped off the last person, I wound up in this very dark room that was lit by a single light in the middle. It reminded me of a dark attic. During this time, I was no longer Harry, but instead I was watching him, Ron and Hermione. There was something kind of like a treasure chest there in the middle of the room, along with a dresser with a vanity mirror. They were talking in front of the mirror about how to get out of there. Harry went over to the wall and started to put his hand through it. As he did, I felt it, and I wound up seeing it from his point of view again. Ron and Hermione were able to do the same and follow me through.

The next room that we were in was a bit brighter than the last, but it still wasn't extremely bright. On my right, the wall was a huge moving painting of a huge river and waterfall with a catwalk over it. The river was flowing to my right, and the waterfall was viewed from the side like a profile. I knew we had to figure out a way to get through this painting kind of like we did the previous wall, but I wasn't sure how we were going to do it.

I had a lantern in my right hand, and I moved closer to the painting and looked closely at the moving frothy water near the top edge of the waterfall. While I was looking, Ron came over and was looking with me. He pointed at something in the water, and as he did, I saw a reverse imprint of a hand, palm out, pushing out from the other side of the painting. Ron and I realized that this was his own hand from the "real" world and that this was our final way out.

He reached up and tried to make contact with the hand, but every time he did, it would disappear when he got within an inch of the painting. Hermione came up and tried the same thing, and it worked exactly the same for her. As she started to move her hand closer again to bring the other hand to the surface, I grabbed hold of her wrist. I realized that in order to keep the "real" hand from receding, I had to lead them in their actions to touch it.

I pushed her hand forward towards the painting, and when her hand made contact with the other, the other disappeared, but now she was allowed into the painting. I kept reaching in with her wrist in my hand, and Hermione started shrinking and had the appearance of moving farther away. I realized I was reaching into the painting as if it were a real 3D space, and I place her on the catwalk.

I then did the same with Ron. I got him near the catwalk and let go to drop him onto it, but I missed. He fell into the water and started rushing downstream towards the waterfall. Just as he went over the waterfall, I reached in and grabbed him and pulled him back up to the catwalk again. He and Hermione were fine, and they were waiting for me to come through before walking up the catwalk and out the back side of the picture.

I tried reaching through the painting, but when I did, it was more like the way I had reached through the first wall. I wasn't moving into the 3D picture anymore, but I was now just sticking my arm into the wall. I could feel the wall and floor of the next room over, and I flopped my hand around a bit to see if I could feel my way out of there. While I was doing so, it occurred to me that someone could be over there and they probably see my hand, and I wondered what they were thinking about it.

The next thing I know is that we were back in the classroom, and everything was fine. We had gotten out, and though it never really involved anyone else, they somehow knew what had happened, and they were really glad to see us back.

We left there and went back home. We were outside by that dirt road again, but because of this event, we had somehow become very rich. Ron and Hermione had picked up all sorts of old cars (caddillacs, pickups, etc from th 70s) and had them all fixed up into mint condition and every single one of them was painted white. Ron and Hermione were also all dressed up in white. Ron had a white suit on that reminded me of "Boss Hogg" from the Dukes of Hazzard, and Hermione had on a white frilly dress. We were going around and looking at all the cars, and while we were doing so, there was another one being delivered.

As I was looking at all the cars, I realized that on every single license plate, they all had my [real waking life] initials somewhere in them. I asked them about it, and they said it was in reverence of me and the way that I had helped them through "the final task."

While we were talking, Neville came out from somewhere and was walking around and talking. I think there were more people around than I had thought because he wasn't talking to us, but I know he was talking to someone. He was now very dirty and appeared to be very poor. (He reminded me of the mechanic in the movie U-Turn) He had held a teaching job at Hogwarts, but he had quit and claimed to be happy to be poor and unemployed now, although we could tell he didn't mean it. We wound up talking to him and convincing him to change his mind and go back to teaching.

After this, there was almost something like a montage that was supposed to show various things that had happened during the course of the dream, like a recap at the end of the movie or something. There was a scene that came up that although I seemed to recognize it, I don't recall it actually happening now that it's over. We were in a cave with Neville, and there was a small dragon there that was about the size of a medium sized dog. Neville was handling it as if it were a pet rather than a wild animal.

After this, I saw the end credits roll. While the music played and the credits rolled, my alarm went off and woke me up.

Taking Queenship

I started out driving along Berry Farm Road heading towards Woodrow Wilson Parkway near Staunton, VA. I turned Right on Woodrow Wilson Parkway and I was looking at a map to try to figure out how to get to Aunt Irene's house. I was supposed to turn left at "Ng Road" (pronounced "ing"), which was supposed to be the second stop light, but when I got to that light, I saw it was labeled "Aurora Drive", so I thought my directions were wrong. I continued driving straight to look for a place to turn around so I could go back and look again for Ng Road.

I was in this small town like area, and I had to get all the way through it before finding a place to turn around. I turned left and went into a huge parking garage. This parking garage was really big. The area that I pulled in to was about 50 feet tall and looked like an old castle. There were a number of passages leading away from the area I was in, but they were all blocked with gates or bars. I pulled across the far side and stopped in front of the gate that was there and got out of my car. The whole area was a solid gray color, except for the bars, which were black.

There was a ramp to my right that went down that had a swing-arm across it like a toll gate. I knew that ramp led out to Interstate 81, but I didn't really want to go back out that far to have to turn all the way back around to get to Aunt Irene's house. I also knew that for some reason, I could not just back out the way I had come in.

There was a car sitting down there in front of the swing-arm waiting to go through, and Sigourney Weaver was there at the automated card/ticket reader trying to get the swing arm to go up so she could drive her car through. She had come around to the back side of the thing and was inspecting it to see what was the matter. She mentioned something to me about how her ID badge was supposed to make it work, but it wasn't opening like it should. While we were standing there, and older lady drove by Sigourney's car and made the gate work and drove out, saying to us as she went out, "It doesn't look like the gate is broken to me." Somehow during this time, I realized that the only people that lived/worked here were women. Men weren't supposed to be admitted at all.

While I knew that if I scanned my card to try to get out of here, the security system of this place would know that there was a man here, but I didn't feel like I had any other choice. I went back over to the gate in front of my car and kind of waved my ID badge in front of it. It beeped and clicked open, but only enough for me to walk through. I couldn't drive my car out.

Beyond this gate, it was like I was in a tower that was about 30 feet across. A staircase ran around the perimeter of it to the right and went down. I wound up following this set of stairs down and came to an area that was like a mostly-deserted back office type of area. It was still all gray and made of stone/cement, but there was a light on at the end of the hall and on the right.

I went down the hallway, which had picnic tables in the middle and running the length of it, and I turned and went into the office. Aunt Irene was there, and it was her office. She was finishing up a few things and wouldn't be able to leave for about a half an hour. She told me that Sean and Nicole (cousins), Nicole's husband Adam, my mom and my brothers would be there. She also said that Bryan would be there with his wife. (in waking life I would actually expect that to be my unmarried cousin Brian, but instead it was Bryan, the maintenance guy from work, and also not married in waking life)

By this point we had made our way back out into the hallway and were standing by some of the tables. Mom and my brothers were already there, but I don't think Sean ,Nicole and Adam were. Then Bryan walked in from the right with his wife and greeted us all. His wife was a little older and had blond hair that was one length down to the top of her neck. She spoke warmly and with a very distinct accent (possibly Polish or Russian) and I think she was saying that she was looking forward to seeing all of us at Aunt Irene's house. Then those that were sitting got up, and saying goodbye to Aunt Irene (because she still had work to do) we started walking to leave.

We were all going down this long hallway that seemed very open, almost as if it were a bridge. We were just talking while looking for an exit. While we were on our way, I came to this area that had bars across it (much like in the first area of the garage I had entered) but the bars were open. I walked through and stepped onto this thing that looked like a metal grate that had been rubberized with red rubber. It was supposed to be big enough to hold a car because it was actually made for transporting cars around, but it wound up being only about four feet across and seven feet long. As I stepped onto it, someone said something about how you could ride this grating and find your lost car, because evidently this happened all the time around here.

Once I got onto the grating, it started to move. I was in another tower like area, and the grating moved around the perimeter of it in a clockwise direction (again, to the right) and went downwards into the basement level. I knew I was finally getting to the main office area and I'd hopefully be able to find my car and get out of here.

Once I got to the bottom I stepped off the grate and looked around. This whole area was brightly lit, and there were lots of wood and plastic surfaces mixed in with the concrete and stone I had been seeing previously. The whole area was bustling with women working this office. The area was open off to my left, and a wall with several doors and a water fountain was on my right. In front of me was a counter/table that was very large. It was about twelve to fifteen feet square, and the women sitting at the other side were on the phone and very busy. Many of the women here were very large, looking like they weighed more than 250 pounds. Most were older women, and everyone was very loud. They were yelling into phones and yelling at each other, not in an irate way, but just because they felt they needed to yell to be heard.

I tried to get the attention of one or two of the women across the table from me because I wanted to know where my car was and how to get out. A younger woman to my left noticed me and was also trying to get their attention for me. I was grateful because I knew that men weren't supposed to be allowed in here, and the fact that she was trying to help me eased my worry about being there and upsetting everyone. At one point one of the women across the table told us to hold on and she'd get to us when she could, but I knew it was just lip service and she planned to keep ignoring me.

Suddenly there was an extra bit of commotion that came from behind the women at the other side of the table. Someone yelled that the Queen had been dethroned by either choosing to leave or dying. Everyone got suddenly silent, and I realized that everyone around here answered to the Queen. The same person yelled that they needed someone to be the new Queen. To my surprise, no one piped up and offered.

I saw my chance. I rose my hand, and everyone in the place turned and looked at me. I said in kind of a sheepish way, "I'll be the new Queen." It was done. None of them had spoken up, so I suddenly had the power just by saying so. Everyone was in utter surprise that a man had suddenly become their queen.

Suddenly everyone was attending to me. I told the women that had been on the phone that I wanted to see where in the building I had tried to use my ID card. I knew that this would tell me where my car was, but I didn't want to tell them I was looking for my car.

I realized that as soon as I left, they were going to be without a queen again, and if no one spoke up, then they would never have a queen to tell them what to do. While the two women were busy looking in the computers to see where my ID card had been tried, I was thinking that there had to be a young woman there who wanted to be queen and could do a great job but was too shy to take the position for herself. If it were given to her instead, she would make a great queen. I think I was thinking of the woman that had helped me with trying to get the attention of the two women originally, but I didn't see her anywhere, and I was worried that I wouldn't be able to pass on the queenship to her.

Finally the women located where my ID card had been used, and I asked them to take me there right away. I went around the big table and there was a hallway to the right. I followed them, but I was still thinking of how I was going to find the other woman to make her queen before I left.

While I was thinking about this, I lost track of the two women that were leading me. I could still hear their footsteps and their voices, but I couldn't tell exactly where they had gone. They could have either gone straight along the hallway that were were already traveling in, or they could have taken a left and gone up a flight of stairs. I felt two things here: I felt that they had gone up the steps, AND I felt that they had split up, but continued talking, and one had gone down the hallway and one had gone up the stairs. I was starting to think that they may have done this on purpose to confuse me because they didn't like that I was the queen now, but before I could make a decision to go one way or another, my alarm went off and woke me up.

Running for Pizza

I started out talking with Em (wife) about how it would be nice to get some pizza. I decided to leave and go get some from the local pizza place. I believe we were living in Virginia, and it was somewhere outside of Staunton, but it was supposed to be close to Charlottesville, too.

Rather than driving, I decided to run. I was doing okay, and then I got to this road I was supposed to turn on. It was a very large hill that this road went up. I was running on the left side of the road, and I hadn't gotten but a couple hundred feet and I was having an extremely difficult time because the hill was so steep. I could hear someone running close behind me, but I knew they weren't going to go around me until I had pulled off to the side a bit more or started walking. I gave up and decided to just walk the rest of the way. As soon as I did, this tall and muscular guy came running by me. He was in some sort of black or dark blue costume, but I'm not sure exactly how he was dressed.

When I got to the pizza place, I saw that I wasn't the only one that had decided to run there to get the pizza. The big guy was there, too. The pizza place was just a mobile home, and there was a door near the right-hand corner, and when I went inside and looked to the left, I saw that they had seats setup almost as if this were a bus. I went about two-thirds of the way up and sat in a seat on the left. The muscular guy was behind me about five or six seats.

While I was sitting there, I was paying attention to what was going on up front. There was some sort of slide show or overhead projector display, and there were pictures and text being shown. There were two girls that were about my age that were in charge of this slide show, and they were putting up stuff about themselves. The main girl put something up about her having gone to Buffalo Gap High School. For some reason, even though this seemed to be in Virginia, I was surprised to see anyone from Buffalo Gap.

I had a tablet of some sort in front of me to write responses on to "chat" with the people giving the presentation. I wound up asking her if she knew anything about Fort Defiance High School (my old school) and she replied via the overhead that she did. When she replied on the overhead, it also appeared on my tablet that I was using. I tried to find out if she knew anyone from Fort, and she said she remembered a few people mainly from football games.

I was trying to figure out who she might have known that I also knew when it came up that my pizza was ready. The girl and her friend came down from the presentation area and gave me my pizza. I opened it, and it looked pretty good. It was pepperoni and cheese, and I had gotten a single pebble of ground beef or sausage put on there for me. As I was looking at it, someone reached across and flicked the beef/sausage off and it went flying onto the floor. I was disappointed and told them that it wasn't a mistake it was on there and that I had ordered it, and they looked all sheepish because they thought they were doing me a good deed. I didn't care terribly and I left. I walked to the back of the mobile home and turned right, leaving through the door I had entered.

The girl and her friend came up and were walking with me and talking about their old school days and the people from Fort they had met. I didn't recognize most of the people she was talking about, but I still thought it was cool that she even knew about Fort. Also, they had followed me out because the pizza place was closing and everyone was dispersing.

As we got to the road and I was getting ready to start running while carrying the pizza, the girl asked me about the muscular guy. I told her that he had probably already run home, and pointed in the direction of the road I had come from earlier. I was going to have to run uphill again because the road went up and over this hill and down the other side. I told her that he was a pretty quick runner and she may have trouble catching him at this rate, and she figured I was right. She was a little disappointed because she wanted to meet him and didn't get a chance to.

Matthew is Lost

I was supposed to be watching the TV show "Lost", but it was supposed to be an in-between-seasons episode of some sort. It seemed pretty generic for a while, and then Kate was there in the forest with Jack (two characters from the show) and she had some sort of telephoto lens from a camera or something, and she was using it as a telescope. She wasn't looking at anything in particular, but just looking around.

At one point she was laying flat on her back and looking straight up with it. I was shown her view of things, and everything was really blurry. She started turning the knob that was on the side of the thing to adjust the focus, and different layers of the trees, starting from the closest, came into focus and then went out of focus as she kept adjusting. It was almost like focusing on higher layers of the trees caused the lower layers to move out of the way to allow her to look higher and higher. It was just an optical illusion due to the focusing because I knew that the trees weren't physically moving out of the way. It was almost as if the lens itself was not actually changing it's focus, but extending up through the trees and pushing branches and leaves out of it's way as it went, constantly focusing on things that were about a foot or so in front of it.

When she reached the maximum upward focus of the lens and all she could see was sky and clouds, she started bringing the focus back down. The branches of the trees that moved out of the way previously were coming back, going into focus, and then moving higher and moving out of focus again, as if the lens were retracting back down through the tree branches.

Then at one point there was a dark blur that started to show up. As the view moved farther away, bit became clearer, and it was my brother Matthew's face looking straight down into the lens. His face was expressionless and partially obscured by the leaves of the trees, but for some reason it scared me because I knew it wasn't supposed to be there. I wasn't even sure that it was actually my brother. Somehow I got the sense that it may have been some sort of impersonator trying to make me think it was Matthew when it really wasn't. It was enough to scare me awake.

The Night the World Flipped

I was at grandmamma's house during the time that I was living there with Mom, Eric, Matthew (brothers) and Aunt Irene. I started out in my old room downstairs. I don't really remember much about what was going on or what I was doing, but I just remember being there. I think I felt nervous about something, but I didn't even know what it was that I was nervous about. I spoke briefly at one point with Aunt Irene and Mom, and I made my way out into the dining room and I eventually wound up outside.

When I got outside, it was just soon after dark. I walked around to the front of the house and went around to the corner where the driveway was. I looked up into the night sky and looked at all the stars. There were so many stars out that it was difficult to make out any of the constellations, and if I did manage to make one out, it seemed to fade in and out pretty rapidly.

I suddenly got this feeling that something was going to happen. There was also something in the feeling that whatever this thing was, I had to option to allow it or disallow it. I didn't know what it was that was going to happen, but I knew it was going to be a world changing event of some sort. I think my decision also had to do with perspective in that I could allow this thing to happen, but if I wanted it to, it would only happen to me. I was nervous because I didn't know what this thing was or what it was going to do, but I just knew I had to decide. Somehow I felt something almost like a clock ticking down. My decision had to be made because if I didn't make it, it was going to be made for me. I could feel that whatever this thing was, it was going to happen very soon.

Suddenly it was upon me, and with only a second to spare before it happened, I decided to allow it to happen to everyone. A moment later, there was a feeling of some sort of internal rush, and things seemed to vibrate a little bit. There may have even been some sort of quiet but low and quick sound that accompanied this thing, and then everything was back to normal. I looked around, and everything looked just like it did before, but something felt different, and I couldn't put my finger on it.

Then people started showing up. I think Nick (former step-brother) showed up first. He asked me if I had "felt that", and I confirmed that I had. He was smiling and looking around. We wound up looking into the sky, and everything, I suddenly realized, looked different. There were still stars, but they had all moved and reconfigured themselves. Instead of the vagueness of the old constellations, there were new constellations that were clear as to what they were. There were actual outlines of objects and creatures, and the constellations seemed to be laid out on a grid that covered the sky. Nick and I pointed this out to each other, in absolute wonder of how the sky looked now. Then we started spotting the planets. We could see Jupiter and Saturn and Mars and Neptune, all looking a little bigger than the full moon, which was also out.

After this, Aunt Irene, Mom, Eric and Matthew all came outside. I looked at the sky with them and we were all in wonder. Aunt Irene and I wound up walking across the street to the parking area in front of the barn. There was a vehicle parked there, and while I think I knew who's it was in the dream, I forget now. We were talking about what had just happened, and though it didn't seem to be specified in our talking, there seemed to be a consensus that whatever action had taken place caused "evil to be eradicated from the world". There was a huge sense of relief from everyone.

I went back across the road and walked around the side of the house that had the screened porch and went into the yard behind the kitchen. There was a group of people there, and I recognized some of them as friends from school. Andy was there, and possibly Stephen were there. They each had some of their own friends there that I didn't know. Though Nick wasn't in the group, most of the people seemed to be his friends. There were about eight to ten people in all. They were all huddled together and acting scared because they didn't understand what had just happened. I talked to a few of them briefly, and though I'm not sure I actually told them exactly what happened, just the act of my speaking with them seemed to be enough to make them understand that they were now safe.

I continued in the same direction I had been going around the house, going in between the house and the storage building and then coming to the back porch that led into the kitchen. I went inside and noticed that the kitchen light was off, but the dining room light was on to my right. I went into the dining room, and some people were in there. I think mom had come inside, along with Nick, and one or two of his friends. Things were relatively quiet and no one was saying much, but it seemed like everyone was just wanting to take in the feeling of the new sense of freedom and ease we were experiencing.

Then it was some time later, and I was walking along one of these stone-paved roads that were an offshoot of 256 running between Weyers Cave and Grottoes, VA in the area of Mountain River Gardens. It was starting to get light out and it was a bit foggy. Even thought the land was fairly flat, it felt like I could look at 256 from way up almost as if I was looking from a cliff. I think I realized I was walking by myself and needed a way to get home, and I considered calling someone in my family to come pick me up, but I don't think I had my cell phone with me. I think someone showed up anyway. The dream ended there.

Then there was another dream that I had, but it was short enough that it doesn't warrant it's own entry. It's also interesting because there is a tie in with this dream.

I was in this downtown area of a place that reminded me of Morgantown, WV. I was there with a group of friends and family, and we had driven in and found a place to park. I went into a store that reminded me of Pinnochio's and started looking around. There were lots of nik-nak items and stationary items there, and I thought it looked very interesting.

I wound up leaving the store and going somewhere else, but I'm not sure where. While I was at this other place, I ran into Scott (childhood friend) and we started talking. We left that place and walked back in the direction of the other store. While we were walking there, we were talking about times that we had hung out as kids. I brought up a time that he had showed me his bow and arrows from an archery class he had been taking. I think he was having trouble remembering it, but at that point we got back to the first store I had been in.

The entry was on the corner of the building, set diagonally and facing the corner of the street. We went in, and I was disappointed to see that the store had changed it's contents. Instead of nik-naks and stationary, it was now just an overpriced clothing store like you see in the mall. I looked around briefly and made comment of this to Scott, and then we turned to leave. In front of the window (to the left of the door) there was a table that had quills on it. They were actually more like fountain pens that had feathers coming out the back. I picked one up and tried writing with it, and I was surprised by it's smoothness. I didn't like it, thought, because it was a broad oblique nib.

After we left, I wound up at work. While I was sitting at the computer in my office, Kim (from the same elementary school class as Scott and I) came in and greeted me. After a moment, one of us brightened up and said, "Hey, did you feel that thing happen last night?" (referring to the event of the previous dream.) We both had and were happy with that. The dream ended there.
