Fires and Fajitas

Somewhere in the first part of the dream, there was a quite a bit of driving around. I was originally in someone else's car, and we were driving around in some city, and there was something about a big fire out on the highway. I think we either saw the smoke or heard about it on the radio, but either way, even though it was supposed to be a far way off (several miles) I saw it almost as if it were in front of me.

After we finally parked the car, I decided to go checking out for myself. I got into my car, and I took back roads, I think, to a point farther south than the fire. I then got onto the interstate and started heading north again. Sure enough, over on the south lanes, there was a place over in the field where there was a fire. There didn't seem to be any fire personnel there, and while the fire didn't look huge, it was putting out a lot of smoke that was blowing north along the interstate and making it hard for people to see where they were driving.

I don't often smell things in my dreams, but this one time, I did smell the burning grain, because it was some grain that was on fire in a field. It turned out that now I was on I-81, and I was nearing my exit at Weyers Cave. People were driving like idiots, especially some of the tractor trailers. I forget what happened, but I guess they were all whipping around and changing lanes really fast in front of people, and me, and they were even driving over on the shoulder of the road.

I finally got over to my exit, and I got off the interstate there. I turned left and went down to the gas station there. (I think it's referred to as Dino's). I went in, and the place was set up a bit differently than usual. The cash register area was in the middle of the store instead of at the right side when you first walk in.

I went in, and Kathy Lee Gifford was manning the register. I talked to her a bit about some fajita recipe I was supposed to be getting from her. After talking for a bit, she decided that instead of writing it down, she'd instead talk me through making them. So she turned quickly and threw something, and it turned out it was supposed to be two very large fajitas, and they landed over on a large flat griddle behind her.

We were now in a house instead of in Dino's. I went back to the griddle, which was almost in some sort of little windowed nook area of the kitchen. The people that I was with originally were there, but I still don't know who they were. I was supposed to be cooking these pre-made fajitas, which were more like folded over pancakes with a bunch of strange stuff in them. Peppers and blue berries, and stuff like that. I was cooking them, and they were sizzling quite a bit, and I had to flip them at one point, and while I seemed to be having some trouble with them, I did manage to finally do so.
