I was in the apartment in Irving, TX (The Villas at Beaver Creek), and I heard this big downpour of rain starting outside. Mom was here, and I think she lived here instead of Em (wife). I made mention of it to her, and she said she could hear it, too. I then went over to the windows and looked outside after it sounded like it had subsided for a bit.
When I looked out, I could see the clouds moving. At first I thought I was watching them move away from us, but then I realized that I was actually seeing them moving straight down towards the ground. They were all very dark, and seemed to be gathering into one big cloud that was about 50 feet in diameter, and only about 10 or 15 feet off of the ground. I could hear the rain starting up again, but I didn't see anything at first. I realized that I was hearing the rain that was still inside the cloud.
Then the middle of the cloud moved down closer to the ground, within about 5 feet or so, and the rain started to pour out of it. The funny thing was that it was a very localized event. The diameter of the rain downfall was about 10 or so feet. Outside of that, it wasn't raining anywhere else. I called mom over to take a look at it, and she thought that was pretty amazing, too. We watched it for a bit, and I remember looking around to see what else I could see outside. I saw that there were patches of blue sky showing up around the edge of the cloud, but this one cloud was just sitting there and dumping all this rain. We both watched amazed for a bit, and then that was it.
