Digital Purple

I started out at First Presbyterian Church in Staunton. Soon before church started, I was told that we were gong to have a five minute break in the middle of the service. For some reason, I had gotten 2 pictures (the 2 of Sarah, ex-girlfriend) and my check card out of my wallet. When we were supposed to sign the friendship pads, that's when the break was. I noticed that everyone was dressed casual (jeans and such). I told Sarah that I wasn't sure why I had gotten the pictures and card out. I picked up the stuff, and Sarah and I walked out the front of the sanctuary. When we were almost to the end of the hall, I had to stop to tie my shoe. Sarah kept going to go to the youth room. After I tied my shoe, I realized I didn't know how to get to the youth room that she was going to. Luckily, Dr. Todd (the pastor) came from around the corner of the end of the hall and told me to go all the way to the end of the hall (which was only about 10 feet away.) So I go to the end of the hall, and There was a door off to my right. I go up.

I end up catching up with Sarah, and we're walking up the stairs together to go to the youth room. We get up to the top, and Mary (the youth teacher) comes out of a door in front of us and asks us if we're the only 2 youth there. We say yes, and Mrs. Richmond (a mother of one of the other youth kids) comes out of a door down the hall to our right and says to go to the "normal" youth room and she'll think of something for us to do there in a minute. So Sarah and I turn abound and start back down the stairs. Sarah says something to me about never letting her be in a play again. I thought it was because she wasn't having fun being in one now, but she said it was because she felt guilty that she wasn't giving to the community by going to plays, but she was taking from it by being in them. I tell her that it will be okay.

After we get down the stairs, the place that used to be the hallway was now a huge room (the size of the sanctuary) for the choir to practice in. I ask Sarah how "The King and I" was (she's actually in Washington DC this weekend seeing that) She said it was "okay" Just as I was wondering why it was only "okay", I noticed that Brian (the choir leader) was in there trying to set up music stands and tables in time for the choir to practice. He asked me if I could help, and despite wanting to go and be with Sarah, I said "sure", thinking that Sarah would help too. Instead, Sarah went on up to the youth room. So Brian said that the stands and tables that sat behind the stands go in the indentations in the carpet. Also, for some reason, we had to spray paint them. So I got a can of black paint, placed the first stand and table, and painted the stand. My can wasn't working very well, so I went over to where he was and asked for another. He said "you're not supposed to be using black. Use the 'digital purple' instead. It's the one that's kind of raspberry in color." There were about 6 cans sitting there, So I found one that said "Digital Purple" and started using that instead. He showed me how to put on a light coat on first, and then put a light coat on again so it covered the whole thing.

The last thing I recall was being worried about Sarah wondering where in the world I was because I hadn't expected to be there that long, and I didn't think she had expected it either.
